HHmmm I cant get my head around this..yep youre new to a car scene( and Country) you have Australian cash! you head for a place where you expect to find a decent set of wheels!! BUT after over a week of browsing and finaly putting nearly 10! TEN PM offers in on cars ! that are listed on this site Ive had one reply and nine that cant be arsed ! I can understand that maybe the price Im offering isnt what the seller would like, but hey nothing is selling fast anyway and Im sure you all know its a buyers market!! I know its not the UK but over there people know that your gonna loose a few quid on a deal! $1000k here or there isnt the end of the world, you may be able to gain it back further on down the line with over cars?.People are putting their cars on sale here with them typing full spec sheets half a page long with photos Im offering 1000k under their asking price (which is fair) and Im getting no feedback? I leave phone messeges,PM's and Emails ....Feck all!! I dont mean to tread on anyones toes or rock any boat! I came and joined a Car site to find a car...so what am I doing wrong?.....thanks for your time Dr1fter (Simon).

If you were genuinely interested in the car you would try to negotiate with the seller or ask to go inspect the car. You might even consider paying what they're asking, as you said "$1000k here or there isnt the end of the world, you may be able to gain it back further on down the line with over cars?"

been reading through all ur posts and offers....so far you've offered 15k for cars that are asking between 18k-24k...

Maybe if you actually arranged inspection before you made your offers you might get some response. There are a lot of tyre kickers on forums (not saying you are one). You are literally offering 15k cash without even inspecting these cars and appreciating what they are really worth? Show genuine interest and maybe the seller would do the same.

ya right about it being a buyers market. And its fairly slow atm. but yeah if i seen a car advertised. I would take mod, condition and km etc into concerderation and see if its good value. but 1k off the price. if the seller really wants to sell it. its no that much of a loss.

n15mo is right...

You offered 15g's on a car that was advertised for 24g's...

What do you think the responce would be...

Just a note, if you went to a car yard to buy a car you would get a markdown of maby 5-8% MAX....

So what makes you think that a private seller who is 20% cheaper than a yeard already. Is gonna take off another 20-40%???

Your offers are simply rude to be honest... If you have 15 grand to spend then look at 15 grand cars...

Pathetic time wasters are whats wrong with forum car sales, and guess what kind of person PM's a lowball offer. Bingo, timewasters like you.

If you are genuinely interested you call and make a time to go and see the car in person before making a serious offer.

OK mate... What is your 15k project car was once someones pride and joy and if the price is 24k the price is 24k +/- a couple of grand. Just suck it up and move to the next car you can afford and dont waste your and everyone's time with lowball offers that just insult the owner.

If you offer 15k and don't get a reply dont get all pussy hurt over it and cry on the general forums just move along to the commodore forums and enjoy.

I just did a search of your posts...

You are an idiot...

You did find an R33 for $15500 and you offered him 13k...

You say you have 15 grand for everyone else then offer a lower amount just cause that guy has it at 15,500... You just want everyone to bend over you knee so you can give them a spanking...

So basiclly you have been asking for a car at 15k and you get one but then all of a sudden you have 13k to spend...

You wonder why people wont reply to your pm's.... Its cause your like the salesman at a car yard... SCUM

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
