I forgot that over here Skylines were used for shopping! well over in Europe we race em' because they seem to like doing that better. As for going back to England with all the other moaning minnies well thats all your fault because we've been brought over here(by your government) to do the hard work that you cant handle,so really thats not my fault! sorry :O

All your doing is insulting the members and users of these forums...

Also Australia is a multi-curtural secoity and the only person i find anoying is you...

If and when you come to an event with and attitude like that im sure people will not make you feel welcome...

Racing is left for race tracks... Not for the street... People die when people like you do stupid things on the road...

SAU Promotes and wants users to "Take it to the track"

Is that you in your avatar?? ..... what you doing Saturday night :)

Arhhhhh No...

Saturday night is my rest from witty remarks on forums on a Friday... :(

As I am thinking about selling my car at the moment, it is really bad for us sellers, coz the skyline price is so low..... I will never bend over for several grands to sell my pride & joy, no matter how bad my situation is now. I think it is disrespecting my car. When I bought my 32, I didn't spend too much time trying to force the seller to lower his price, becoz I love the car, and I respect the seller (instead of trying to drain his last drop of blood!!). Just hope I will meet some buyers like me now....:(

And to be frank, I think the skylines on sale in SAU are in really low price, that's the reason why I still dare not to put an ad for my car here. It is really a painful to be a seller. So please, even it is a buyer's market, try to be reasonable to the sellers. Peace.

If you arent prepared to pay the price being asked, then the car you are looking at isnt for you. Are you that misguided that you expect to waltz onto a Skyline forum packed with skyline enthusiasts who have invested massive amounts of time effort and money into their cars and proceed to insult them but offering them way under what they are asking?

As has been said, if you were a genuine buyer, you would actually contact the seller and inspect the car first, not 'send a pm' offering some stupid price.

Sometimes, while unfortunate, some sellers are strapped financially and you will find a bargain, but if you want to start insulting people here and telling others that their cars are worth nothing then you really are on the wrong forum.

As for your massive $15k budget saved from doing all the hard work that us Aussies cant handle, well maybe a Honda civic would be more up your alley.

HHmmm I cant get my head around this..yep youre new to a car scene( and Country) you have Australian cash! you head for a place where you expect to find a decent set of wheels!! BUT after over a week of browsing and finaly putting nearly 10! TEN PM offers in on cars ! that are listed on this site Ive had one reply and nine that cant be arsed ! I can understand that maybe the price Im offering isnt what the seller would like, but hey nothing is selling fast anyway and Im sure you all know its a buyers market!! I know its not the UK but over there people know that your gonna loose a few quid on a deal! $1000k here or there isnt the end of the world, you may be able to gain it back further on down the line with over cars?.People are putting their cars on sale here with them typing full spec sheets half a page long with photos Im offering 1000k under their asking price (which is fair) and Im getting no feedback? I leave phone messeges,PM's and Emails ....Feck all!! I dont mean to tread on anyones toes or rock any boat! I came and joined a Car site to find a car...so what am I doing wrong?.....thanks for your time Dr1fter (Simon).

I dont come on this forum much, and i havent read anyones replies so hopefully im not repeating something..

Bud, when someone wants to sell their car for say 18k. They want to sell it for 18k. not 17k. not 12k.. They want to get as much as they can.. U saying losing a few thousand here n their, im pretty sure most of the people putting their cars up for sale on here are genuinelly reasonable. Y would people settle for less if they can get more from someone else.. If they are desperate for cash im sure they will come around n PM u back.. :D

Tell me ur budget n what ur looking for.

Thanks, Steve.

DR1FTER, you really don't sound very mature. Somehow I have trouble believing you have 20 years of car ownership under your belt. Here's a few steps for buying a second hand enthusiast's car, which have served me well:

PM/call/email with an expression of interest, not a ridiculously low offer.

Go and look at the car thoroughly, and if you genuinely think the car is worth less than the owner is asking for, give your offer and explain why the lower price.

If they refuse your offer, they may not be the right person to buy off. If you can't find anything to lower the price with, maybe the car is out of your price range. Look at another.

Whining and insulting members will get you nowhere. Most people who enjoy their cars will take a sudden low PM offer as an insult, and why reply at all? It's not exactly a genuine expression of interest. Many of these guys would like to see their car go to someone who will treat it properly, and establishing a good image of yourself and a buyer/seller relationship is always a nice touch. Be nice and polite.

Good luck buying a car anyway, i know i wouldn't sell you mine after reading this, even if you offered more than i thought it was worth.

Hey Drifter... did you write that book on how to make friends and influence people?

Unbelievable!!!!

Offers like that are just insulting, especially when you haven't even seen the car.

Welcome to Aus, enjoy your stay but just try and make some friends ay because that wasn't a good start.

Liz.

Hmm...sounds like this customer we had at myer who went around to all the stores putting deposits on this plasma tv - then going around to every other store and reducing the prices. Im sorry, but I hate people like that. You can haggle, but haggle after you have seen the car, test driven it and if you are genuinely interested in it.

Issh..see them cars on your bedroom wall (next to your Kylie poster)..Ive owned and shagged in better. You know nothing mate.I sent a post last week (sorry I forgot only 1 person read it) saying I was new to the car scene in QLD and was looking for a project car so 15k was fine for that I thought?? Ive got cash waiting for any motor thats on the forum list ,but only having been here 5 weeks and already bought 1 house,1 Mitsi Jeep,a 20k fishing boat and every odd and sod you can imagine to keep the wife happy,Im gonna try and find a bargain and if that means trying it on and getting a couple of K's off a car then so be it.The people who I thought were rude were those who didnt reply to my calls,pm's which they must of read? and emails! that is what I call rude? I even said to one seller I'd come down to Sydney from the sunny coast to view.Ive got no problem with viewing and after 20 years of car ownership I know what to look for and what not to.Anyway as I said I wasnt out to start trouble, just to have a moan, but for the kids who wanna get mouthy I hope its you I meet at some lights and its your 'ass' thats way back in my mirror :D

Thanks people..remember 15k !! let me know lol Dr1fter.

That is such a nice gtr.....immaculate!

Sorry guys this only for sale to DR1FTER, i just want to see what he will offer me for it !!!! I'm prepared to bet he wouldn't want to pay the full $15K and it's a V-Spec as well but i'm sure he will find a reason to make a lower offer......

    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
    • I wanted to try and preserve the front bumper as long as possible, they're not cheap and are made to order in Japan. Taking inspiration from my previous K11 Micra build where I made an undertray for the Impul bumper, I did the same for this BN Sports bumper but a little slimmed down.  This time round I only made a 'skid plate' (if that's the correct wording/term) for just the bumper surface area, the Micra version covered the gap like an undertray. Starting off with a sheet of mild steel approx. 0.9mm thick 4ft x 2ft in size. I traced around the bumper, cut it out and cleaned the edges. Luckily I was able to get two halves from one piece of metal In the video I installed it as is, but I've since then I've removed it to spray and add a rubber edging trim. The rubber trim is suitable for 1-2mm and it's a really nice tight fit. The bolts had to be loosened due to the plates being too tight against the bumper, the trim wouldn't push on I used some stainless M6 flat headed bolts for a flusher finish (rather than hex heads poking down), I believe this style fastener is used for furniture too incase you struggle to source some. The corner's are a little wider, but this may be an advantage incase I get close to bumping it  The front grill got some attention, finally getting round to repairing it. Upon removal one fixing pulled itself out of the plastic frame, one side is M8 that fixes inside of the frame, where as the other side is M5. Not knowing I could get replacements, I cut down an M8 bolt, threaded it inside the frame along with a decent amount of JB Weld.  The mesh was replaced to match the bumper. One hole on the bonnet/hood had to be drilled out to 8mm to accommodate the new stud, once the glue had set it could be refitted. I think the reason the grill was double meshed was to hide the horn/bonnet latch (which makes sense) but I much prefer it matching the bumper Bumper refitted and it's looking much better IMO The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVZP35io9MA
