Idiot Driver On Princes Hwy Last Night

Recommended Posts

I've posted this on nissan silvia also.

Couple of mates and I were driving outbound down princes hwy at around 11pm last night, we had just left chapel st and some little prick in a mustang-back celica rolls up next to us at a set of traffic lights. Light's go green and this prick roars of the lights like a f**king idiot, I slowly drive off giving him no indication that I wanted to drag.

Anyway further down traffic I somehow got in front of him, as I was pretty much right next to a merging lane I spot these 2 headlights in my rear view mirror come screaming up my arse, I see the driver swerve into the merging lane to try and overtake me, I shat my self and stompted my brakes because I knew this guy wasn't gonna make it. The guy fly's out infront of me narrowly missing the front of my car, If I had maintaned my speed I garentee my car would be seriously damaged now, I was doing the speed limit at the time, and I was so lucky that I noticed his lights and slowed down.

After this happened I lost it, I caught up to the prick acouple of times and gave him a few nice words but he shat himself and kept speeding away like a pussy. No apology or anything.

I forgot his plates coz I was too busy being blinded by rage, he was asian with glass's typical nerd *milkshake* trying to be race car driver in his dunga peice of shit car.

Here's a little picture of how it happened.

^^^ Bit harsh mate...

I'll also stand here and say you can cruise chaps without being a total DICK... I have been known to be down there... along with a few other SAU members (who will not be named) and they don’t cause problems....

Count yourself lucky Lukaz that you broke when you did because we all know the amount of idiots that drive on our roads...

This is almost a warning to all drivers to remain alert on our roads as sometimes you don’t have to be doing anything wrong, it's the other people you need to be aware of...

want some tissues ???

u left chapel st ey ... so im sure u werent being totally innocent.

i encounter idiots on the road fairly often, shake ur head, get over it.

f**k me dead, it was 11pm mate i was driving home, It was a small night out with acouple of mates, we weren't not doing anything wrong, so don't f**king assume.

Blows my mind that you can be so quick to add your little digs at me over the internet, you'd hate to see my responce if you said that to me in person. So in your logic I deserved to have my car damaged because I was driving on chapel st previous to the incident?

Im telling you now without an exaguration if I didn't brake there would be atleast 1 car written off or even worse an injury.

Thank's Mavric, I've seen quite a few of them lately also.

friday nights, u get a lot of crazys - i think people get over happy that its the weekend....and they have to get home in a hurry to have a wank

on a serious note, I know what you mean....I have seen it happen to other motorists before. Only thing that you can do is just be alert, obey the speed limits.

The other thing is as well, if these pricks see someone driving a good car, they always try to give a bit of stick to instigate that person. Just dont even look at them - let them be the idiots that they are.

cleaned up ur quote :D

anyways... sadly i see that shit most nights (dandy rd) being i live on it.

Its just one of the things you get used to seeing unfortunately.

Nothing you can do.

The amount of idiots around, i can see why the cops target certain groups... just a pain we all have to suffer aswell

It has always been like that in Melbourne.....

I got over that (and the roads) and moved north......

But you always get d**kheaads on the road, no matter where you live.....

Especially those 17/18 yr olds new to driving (and cars in general) who just wanna drag everyone off at the lights, no matter what vehicle they are in.......

im outthat way alot and i see a heap of what you said happens

the worst spot is city out bound at orrong rd (cars usually park on the hwy just after the lights

and just as you come down to go under the railway bridge

ive got certain spots i stick to atthose junctions and various other spots along the hwy

as for the take off at the lights bizz i do have a tendancy to do that but i never go over the limit

youll probly see me out there alot if you havent already especially over the closing weks to the tribute cruise ill be out with flyers for it most likely on chapel in my vy ss purple colourd vn with vr/vs clubby kit

if you see me say hi im always up for meeting any new ppl

cheers

chris

omg

ppl need to grow up

and since when do ppl not pay attention to how others drive on the road...

if you dont pay that much attention to whats going on around you, please identify yourself so i can stay very f**king far away from you...

i dont beleive your totally innocent lukaz, i really couldnt care less if you were or werent either ...

just cause u have had a close encounter, doesnt mean no one else here has ...

so stop having a cry, and just learn to live with it, you see it all the time ... drive smart

that is all

as I was pretty much right next to a merging lane I spot these 2 headlights in my rear view mirror come screaming up my arse, I see the driver swerve into the merging lane to try and overtake me,

Hey Luk, Unfortunately its the world we live in...One thing that you could try is making an effort of changing your focus further up the road. That way you dont have to merge last minute, if u ever do defensive driver training there is a big focus on little things like this. My 2 cent worth.. :(

    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
