Warning: Angry poster [MA]

What is the deal with the Tall Poppy Syndrome!!! Ive owned my old 4WD Hilux for like 6 years now and I have never ever had anyone vandalise it. I have had my Skyline for like a month now and I have already had it egged and now key scratched as well! :)

I swear if I ever find someone touching my car I'll loose it. Grrrr. People should really just pull their f%&king heads in!! If your a looser and you cant afford to buy a 13 thousand dollar skyline dont take it out on mine!! Just do us a favour and f$&cking kill yourself instead.

well said zennon...

i thought it was just me but ive even had people pull along side me and shout s**t at me about my car

mind you one guy sh*t his self when i pulled up outside his house and knocked on the door for him..lol

I know it pisses you off, I dont think it is just skylines its any nice car.

But i have had my car egged and had a bottle thrown at me.

When people yell shit out, i ask them in a calm voice,

did i do something to you, because i can if you want.

You normally get a puzzled look on there face like Daaarh.

as much as one may think i have 'road anger' in me after this statement, you'll be wrong if it actually happened to you.

night before i was about to actually put the car into Milanco to get the turbo rebuilt and highflowed, I had some dipshit in a comby started to merge into my lane as we were going around a corner on Old Cleveland Road.

Of course, the dude didnt give a shit as i was sittin there just beepin at him and going off. I then proceceded to follow him until he pulled over.

After I got out, I asked for a explination as to why he decided to merge into my lane without no indicating light nor showing he gave a shit that he could of caused a car accident as i had to brake pretty hard comin close to havin a car rearin up the back of me and me headin head on into a power poll.

He fully appologised and I said that insurance wouldnt of covered any damage that you did to my car and I would have you purchase a new car for me of the exact model I had before it would of been damaged.

After that, he got a bit worried. I simply said "follow the road rules next time, indicate and merge after looking, not merge and dont look expecting no cars to be there".

I drove off but with the satisfaction that hopefully I gave him more of a fright that people wont tollerate idiots like him on the road again with no indicating and no looking before merging.

Of course, there was no volience involved but clearly, a stern message that hopefully got across to him worked.

edited to make this quote short

What has this got to do with a car being keyed???

Zennon I fell really bad for you, I would probablly cry if this happened to me...

Id have to say the worst I have recieved was a bit of spit on the windows of my car...

These days my car is parked permentlly in the garage and the comapny banger sits out on the road...

Yeah I would have sh1t myself too.

John, I'm amazed at your absolutely care-free attitude to this event. If someone followed me, I would pull over only in a very public place if at all. And one day you will chase the wrong dude and he will get out of the car and A. Throttle you. B. Throttle you and take your car. Or C. He will be your favourite off-duty cop and he will throttle you and throw you in jail.

Your actions only perpetuate the road-rage phenomena. Yes, there are fools on the road, but two wrongs don't make a right.

Be the bigger man and let it slide.

sorry to hear about your car zennon, these storys always make me angry

and as for toy-r33, you are asking for it

people are idiots and cant drive everywhere, everyday

you havent changed anything chasing after that guy, you just got lucky that he wasnt an icehead, or a criminal in a stolen vehicle, who would have thought nothing of running into you, waiting for you to stop and then beating you up

im trying to get this message accross to wifey, who insists on getting on the horn or abusing other drivers on the road, even when they are in the wrong

when they smash my car up and drive off, im not going to be real impressed regardless of how in the wrong they are

she needs to get the message

    • The question then becomes - was there any fluid coming from that hole before you did the rebuild ?    You may not have noticed, of course.   Depending on how you did the rebuild, the possibility has to be considered that somehow (cleaning ?)  fluid entered that hole and is now being 'forced'  out by small movements of the proportioning valve.   From the factory, there's actually a small rubber plug in that hole but with age and under-bonnet heat it's quite common for it to 'go missing'.  That rubber plug is designed to allow the venting process but also to prevent 'stuff' getting to the area (prevent corrosion, etc).   The plug is also not available as a spare part AFAIA. Personally I wouldn't race and buy a new master just yet but keep an eye on the area to see if the 'leak' continues.   If you're concerned about brake fluid damaging nearby paintwork, cable tie a piece of suitable absorbant material over the hole and remove/monitor occasionally.    Operation of the proportioning valve and the brake master itself won't be affected, but also keep an eye on brake fluid level, of course. In terms of a new master, the genuine part is getting expensive, unfortunately.  Amayama is showing AUD900+.   I was searching recently and there's an aftermarket part available from Japan made by 'Parts Assist': https://zenmarket.jp/en/yahoo.aspx?q=BNR32%2bBM50&p=1 Whether it's any good I have no idea, although in my experience Japanese aftermarket stuff is pretty good quality-wise.   The above site allows overseas buyers to purchase stuff more easily from Japan but there are fees and shipping costs, of course.   The original Japanese seller page is here: https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/p1197401228 Copper/Nickel is fine but I still prefer bundy tube and it's also cheaper.
