Saluations

AutoSalon, Sydney wasn't as "ricey" as I thought. I thought that it actually improved since last year, still had heaps of bright cars/mega dollar interiors which most people here aren't into, but it had some nice cars too this year...

autosalon was dissapointing some of the cars wernt even washed ,,,, i was only turnd on by the black 34,,, the carbon bonnets ,, the girls,, and one mettalic black r32 with i thought was the best street car in there,,, but my best enginuity award has to go to the barbie boys quad rotor ,,,, even though the car use to be a stat right off 318is

My experience of the AutoSalon....

$2.20 M4 Toll into Homebush, $10 to park my car, then told It would be an hours wait to get into the showroom at the cost of $18, did a U-turn and went straight back home.

I'll try and make it earlier next year I think.

flirt models rock

:P

same cars as last year

a few try hard skylines there

not a good idea to rev your engine excessively with no load!!

some nice s15s and the same lame rotaries as all years - they never change looks

drug money is still flowing well in NSW

onegod did have nice wheels, best car for me, hmmmmmmm

SGT SX

That metallic black Skyline you are referring to belongs to a friend of mine.

He used to have a Supra which he converted to single turbo and got 300kw at the rear wheels. You may have seen it in a few magazines.

Well, the new car is a R32 GTR which he personally flew to Japan to select.

Amongst the goodies, it has a single turbo conversion (T88). It will hit the tracks soon.

I would expect with over 450hp at the wheels, it should easily run 10's

The plates are carried over from the Supra and are "FLYBYE".

Also on display with this car was another GTR "DARDVL" which was dynoed with 440+kw at the wheels.

That would be Tim, hes succeeded in putting together another sweet car. The 32 looks awesome.

Jerrys Maroon 32 looks good also.

I find it funny and amusing at times and shitty too listening to ppl say, hey those cars are all from drug money bla bla bla

Its a good idea to have facts to back up your statements before you post some shit....

There is your groups who i admit have made their money illegitamately, but the majority havent, have you guys ever heard of bank loans, credit cards, working hard saving money.

A lot of ppl can afford to take out loan and pay them off a well as living comfortably, having a well paid job takes care of that, but its annoying to hear ppl generalising and calling ppl drug dealers just becauase themselves cant get off their asses and build a car for themsellves....

Chill Dude. There just reffering to the ones who u can tell that is where they get their money

But dude thats my point, HOW can you tell???

As the saying goes " never judge a book by its coverr"

I have been called DRug dealer, criminal, thief, you nam it i been called it... WHY you ask?? Because im from MIddle eastern Appearance ( im a lebbo) and i drive around hotted up cars... even though i dont drink, smoke, never takin drugs, never been in trouble with the law(except speeding etc), but hey ppl have the right to call me all these names beacuse i decide to spend my money on cars.......

Thats my point, how can you tell???

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
