For those that have been to Chadstone for this know what a great night it is.

This year the Big Boys Toys night will be on the 15th of Feb and we are extending an open invitation to all clubs to set up club displays at no charge. This is a great opportunity to have your club recognised in the public arena.

There will be LOADS of giveaways, LOADS of HOT promo cars and even some sweet rides from the pimp my ride crew as well. More info will be posted shortly.

So if you are interested in participating as a club please PM me for more info.

Any chance of some pictures from last year?

I've never heard of this before (I don't get out much) - just curious on the layout etc.

Will have to double check, previous years have been inside out the front of Myer.

But this years will have the entire car park from post office entrance to match box entrance sectioned off.

If you have ever been to Chadstone thats a MASSIVE car park, its going to be BIG.

Its a night for manufactures to bring out all there new toys etc, but Chadston are having a major focus on cars this year. With intentions to keep the focus on cars in years to follow.

I have sent info to Bec already so just awaiting final confirmations from Chadstone which will be on Wednesday.

Cheers

Sab

It will be similar to Auto Salon in set up fully sections off area, with security more like a car show really.

I think Chadstone has been having Big Boys Toys Night for 2 or 3 years now but like i said it was mainly focused on gadgets (mobiles, ipods, computer etc) in the past but this year will have the MASSIVE car focus.

What happened there tonight. It was meant to go till 9pm. I rocked up about 7:30 with a mate and there was hardly anything there. Big crowd around a nice looking blue RX8, and cops there writing him a fine. From what I gathered when asking a few randoms, the cops rocked up and just started picking on everyones cars for roadworthiness. I dont know if anyone caused problems (ie burnouts in the carpark or anything) but the cops were just going around looking for cars to pick on. Quite a lot of jap cars there. Anyone else go?

PS: Some guys walking together said something to me while I was driving around looking for a car park, couldnt figure out what they said until after. Basically said "too late the cops are here". Sorry if it was someone here and I had a confused look on my face :D

Apparently...

One of the guys that was defected has posted in that thread.

What a disapointment for Chadstone and the people that took their cars down there to assist in the BBT static car display. The people that were harrassing the TMU by singing chants to them should be ashamed, they were not the owners of the vehicles yet they could be held partially responsible for the Police Officers negative reaction to the display, there are way to many idiots around.

Matt - Did you get done? I hope not.

    • 12+ months passed so they have no obligation to do a warranty claim. It leaked from the rear circuit. Front circuit was fine, but I tried many times to bench-bleed and in-car bleed (wasted 1L of Penrite racing brake fluid) to no avail. Threw my old BM50 or whatever the standard R32 GT-R BMC is, brakes went back to normal. So from my very limited anecdotal experience, I cannot recommend HFM, even though a lot of their products looks good. Just my experience (I have a genuine Nissan BM57 in a box waiting to be installed now).
    • How dare you sell your unreliable Skyline and buy a reliable, Toyota/Yamaha car with a strong gearbox, torsen LSD and Toyota reliability. At least you won't need to worry about oil pumps, big catch can, oil restrictors, blowing off power steering belts, sheering off 3rd gear, failing ABS relays/pumps, etc.
    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
