And yes I did a search, got sh#tloads of threads and no thread that answered the questions.

All for and ECR33 RB25

A manifold gasket/stud kit, whats best - Nissan genuine???

What external wastegate works best, is there a winner or are they all good?? According to the numbers [i found a SK thread some time ago that had the wastegate sizes or you could calculate them, I couldn't find it again, but mine came out at 39.6mm from memory] I require a 39-40mm unit, so Tial 38mm or Turbosmart 40mm etc

From memory your using a 30R of some variant and a HKS manifold like moi I believe, correct???

Im chasing 260-280rwkw street tune and I will be using a Tial 38mm gate (I think my calculation from SK's thoughts were just under 38mm by a tiny bit. Id also say Tial would be the pick of the bunch as they are used and endorsed by Garrett USA and as an added bonus are much cheaper than turbosmart anyway.

Yeah, GT3076WG, hks cast low mount probably run with 15psi or there abouts, looking for around 270rwkw.

Hoping to get the lag [not that there is much] down with my cams and by extrude honing the manifold. Later hope to use an a/m planum and get some valve work done. This will help the breathing and lower the turbo lag maybe?

I tried searching for that SK thread, but couldn't find it. I'll have another go later.

So what are you running with Wheezy?

;)

I know a few people are using the ones GCG supply without much of an issue (in high mount).

I used a turbosmart gate, never missed a beat.

You also get a set of springs with the turbosmart gate so you can change the spring rate on the gate which is handy

Thanks Craved, that was the one I was after. I bl00dy well searched on just about all the combo's of:

wastegate test

sydneykid-------wastegates

sydneykid-------external

sydneykid-------tial

external wastegate

and in all forums as well as forced induction and FAQ area's.

etc etc etc and either didn't get what I wanted,or the search failed ie didn't find anything at all.

I redid my 270rwkw nominal power and came up with 39.6mm wastegate again, so i guess a turbosmart 40mm would be the go, but I'll have to check out what brands are out there in 40mm and prices.

My 38mm HKS is fine at that power. To be honest it needs a heavier spring to hold boost better at the top end as it drops off slightly

And the best part is it will bolt up to your manifold without funny adapters ;)

I also used a genuine gasket but non genuine studs

MMmm I hadn't thought of the adaptor plates etc [still new stuff to me yet], I might see what HKS have to offer. Just checked, 750 for a std one from Nengun, bit exe but might be worth it? What did you get?

What boost are you running?

And last why did you use non genuine studs, any reason?

Thanks BHDave

Mine came with the kit. You're right though, $750 for a 38mm gate is a bit pricey.

I run 20psi through the midrange which drops off to 18.5 at the top end with hks 256/264 cams. 288rwkw at last dyno.

Non genuine studs because i found a place that had some the right size that were proper exhaust studs. Didn't even think to go to nissan for them to be honest. A high tensile stud is a high tensile stud after all (unless you get one of those packs from supercheap).

Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
