ah i didnt see this bit;

There will be no problems ordering of Apexi products, as the car parts division will keep running as normal.

We, Apexera are applying for Minjisaiseiho (I don’t know what this is called in English but if translated it means something like Civil Reformation). It’s a type of government support as part of bankruptcy law in Japan. It doesn’t mean the business is finished as yet.

The trouble came out of our other divisions of the business (home security systems, telecommunications etc).

We do not forsee problem in the near future and your orders will not be affected.

thats alright then

They probably would get 1 in a 100 that actually work like everything else they try re producing.. they screwed the market with all their copied crap poor apexi :O

its funny you say that....

80% of shit you have at home or on your car would be made in China..did they all fail?

EVERY SINGLE car maker nowadays has their production plants in china to produce some parts on the cars...

maybe get ready to start walking again huh?

last time i ordered a PFC about 3 years ago it was paid and sent on the friday and i had it at my place on the monday morning.

nengun get deliveries from apexi at the end of the month so if you order in the middle you wont make the monthly run and youll have to wait another

Well the 'little' china, Taiwan, had been a well known manufacturers of computer and motherboard PCB products, it's like the silicon valley of the asia.

but again, the old comrades China, even though crappy products also come out from there, again most products you have in your home, be it plasma tv, cameras, dvd players, clothings, shoes, fridge, fans, airconds, your mobile phones, etc. are now mostly made in China.

It is not where it is made that makes something a bad product, it is bad quality control that makes something a bad product.

You can bash chinese products as crappy products as you like now, but if you remember it, japanese products were bashed just as badly after they lost the WW II, no one wold want to buy made in Japan as they're basically knock-off copies of American products. But look at what Japanese products has become and evolved to such high quality products over few decades after the grimmy WW II era. In the 80s-90s, all the best are made in Japan. Before China starts to take over, mainly due to cheaper production and labour cost.

India could be next, and who knows when Indian made products become non-economical 40 years from now due to rising cost, Africa might be the next place to invest, and Africa in the future might just as well be just like China today... the economic wheel will keep turning. No region will stay on top of the wheels all the time.

was looking for confirmation after greddy/trust is told goin bankrupt as well following apexi, and as i hadn't been tinkering with any turbos since I sold my trusty old R33 gtst long time ago, I couldn't believe the rumours. should have checked the dates though.

    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
