Okay. I am in a bit of a predicament. Figure the good old UK guys could help me out!

Anyway, I am currently in the process of a COMPLETE engine rebuild after my motor saw fit to spin a bearing. Doing a complete upgrade of ALL internals.

Anyway, my motor is being built to handle 1000+ WHP. However I am shooting for a modest 800AWHP.

I have essentially worked out all of the specifics of my build with the exception of the fuel system. That part has me stumped. I need a fuel system capable of handling 800AWHP. Intially I will be looking at about 600-650AWHP until I upgrade my turbos some more, however I want to do it right the first time around.

I know there are a number of different options, but I cant figure out what would work best. Obviously an in tank system is not an option. I know I will need some type of multiple pump external system but what?

Any help on what the ideal fuel system to power an 800AWHP street driven GTR33 would be greatly appreciated.

ok, if it were my system it would be like this.

standard pump, or small bosch pump in tank. feeding large surge tank in boot. then twin high flow, low restriction filters before heading to twin 044s feeding each end of a large bore fuel rail (with a Sard RJ reg mounted on the return from the middle of the rail) running 1000cc injectors. I would advise upgrading or at least replacing the fuel lines thoughout (ie big return will be needed).

enjoy  that's a simple system, and proven to work for your power level.

I agree with Beer Baron although I wouldn't be using a Sard fuel reg, I thought these were only rated to 600Hp. Something like an SX or Aeromotive Reg would be a better option. I am building a fuel system for 600Hp atw. Will be using standard gtr pump as a lift pump to a 1.7L surge tank, then an 044 and an SX Fuel Filter will be -8 lines from the surge tank to the engine bay where it will split to two -6 lines which will feed into each end of a modified stock rail with a -6 or -8 return in the middle (not sure on this yet need to find out if a -6 will be enough) to an aeromotive 1000hp pressure reg. oh and 700cc SARD injectors. Will use solid lines under the car and braided teflon lines in the boot and engine bay. If you use teflon lines you won't get any fumes in the bay or boot but they are a little more expensive

Hopefully the tank, pump and filter will sit up behind the rear seats on the battery shelf so it's all out of sight

You'll be right with the stock fuel lines.

They seem to be adequate when a good number of GTR's are using them currently around your target (440rwkw) :)

Just seems to be the rail that most people have a bit of a mod too as you've already covered off :)

And what Beer Baron said, agreed :)

600rwkw isnt an easy task to keep reliable, best of luck with it all.

i got a fuel setup for around 850-900awhp and that is a bosch 040 intank pump feeding to a 3L surge tank which runs into twin fuel filters before going to twin bosch 044 pumps then a Ypiece and dash 8 (1/2') single feed line to the front and then into a Y piece with twin -6 lines (3/8') into a sard dual feed fuel rail with sard 1000cc injectors and return is single dash 6 (3/8') into a sard regulator and returns to surge tank with dash 6 (3/8') line.

gotta love the humming of 3 bosch pumps all at once lol

Thanks guys. Sounds like I have what I need for my setup.

So I should be alright keeping the stock fuel lines as long as I get a new fuel rail and modify that slightly correct?

My next question is about sound dampening. As I said intially this will be a street driven car, I dont want to have the hum of my pump drowning out my conversation! LOL.

Any suggestions on limiting the amount of sound produced from these setups?

i'll be boxing my setup ( 1.5L surge - 044 - std lift pump ) as its sitting under the parcel shelf in the r33 replacing the battery.

atm its noisy even with a rubber mounted bracket from motorsport connections and teh fuel fumes are damn strong without it.

i'll just cover the rear/side/top of the enclosure with a foam of some description to reduce the noise. Front will be perspex.

just my idea

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
    • Bloody apprentices! 🙄
    • Not sure yet.  Was considering speedtek because it was rated to 800hp, but when I did some research about him I don't think I will go for that🤣 So maybe giken gear set, but I'm afraid it won't be strong enough🙄
