Its V Day And I Need Your Help! Also What's Your Plan?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Its that day of the year again, Valentine day, i hate it :) . I get in trouble with the GF every years for not remembering to give her roses, either that or how many roses she suppose to receive or what colours she'd preffer............etc.

Anyway, just last year, she finished Uni and now working on Kings way, i thought i might supprise her a bit by having flowers deliver straight to her office but i've never use this kind of service before therefore i'm a bit confuse as when i google it up, there are so many...!

I'm sure someone among us Vic SAUer would have done this before, if you know there is a reasonably and reliable one please shed a light.

Also what are you going to do this Wed? Baloon ride? Parachute? Anything exciting?

Thank you

Roses Only or Bridge Road Florist. Both fantastic. Bridge Road florist is the best florist in melbourne they make fantastic arrangements.

For V Day I would advise to get her some roses from Rosesonly.com.au because their packaging is amazing.

The norm for a romantic occasion is to get 12 long stemmed red roses which is about $80. Not that i've had roses for a long long time, i'm more of a jewellery or perfume girl! But I'm a chick and i know whats up and roses are georgous!!

$80 for 12 roses?

Jebus christ  Have prices gone up or something?

hmm... i dont ever recall paying that much unless it was a large arrangement for wedding/funeral and that type of thing

mmm next year i will have a florist open so i could have done it for you west, but at the moment roses only are good but a bit expensive. most florists can do that services you just need to ask them for it.

cheers mate

Thats because you are cheap ash.

It actually has gone up Ash its now $139...

If that is out of your price range I would suggest getting 12 long stemmed roses from Bridge Road Florist. Which would be about $85ish.

Join the gang, Kylie.

Now girls, correct me if I'm mistaken, but you really don't care how many roses - 1 is as good as a roomful.

Whatever you reckon Juz

Anyhow... yes... seems the usual profiteering going on.

I certainly have NEVER paid that much during the year for said bunches.

Hence the surprise at the hiking just "because" its V's day.

It's the thought that counts...I would be happy with nothing but an "I love you" or whatever...but that's just me

She knows ya love her. your together right..

So send flowers to someone else.. ;)

A bunch of roses is nice, but it lacks effort. Your lady will appreciate the effort you went to on V'tines day far more than the quantity and/or type of flowers you send her. Try and take her away from her everyday routine and spoil her, sweep her off her feet. My lady is being picked up in a cab and will be delivered to a secret location where I have organised an outdoor dinner comprising of her favourite foods, wine and desserts.

It's also a gimme that if you make her feel special, she'll be more than eager to return the favour ;-)

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
