challenging...not impossible

I have mates on the exec in the WRX club between us and them I think we could get 100 people...that would be cheap enough and would also allow enough runs? A bit of friendly competition could bring in a few numbers too

Not raining on your parade but do you think you could get 115 cars all to pay $100 each...???

So they might get up to 10 runs each if nothing goes wrong... ie. Track clean up's from dropped oil...

Why would someone not go to a test and tune where there is tops of 150 cars (Wednesday event) and pay $36???

Tnt on a Wednesday you will get up to 6-7 runs if nothing goes wrong... ie. Track clean up's from dropped oil...

Bost cruising did thier day 100 cars for $80 dollars from memory and they did it this year..there is more to this than meets the eye hence the reason I want to look into it

I could get 115 cars but 80% of them would be wrx's because thier members are way more active and far less whingey

Boost Cruising paid for the event in September last year...

I spoke to Nick about the whole setup before I presented the idea the first time...

EDIT: 80 cars at $85.25 each... Both last November and this April...

They are doing it again this year (90cars at $85each), but with sponcers to lower the cost back to what last years cost...

But still thats $85 per car for a max of 9-10 runs considering no accidents...

If you read into their rain out policy you will see that there are some pot holes you could hit if it rains half way throught the event...

If it rains prior to half way you recieve 30% refund, if it rains after half way you recieve no refund...

Yep sponsors will be our goldmine, victoria has put us on to a few that pay out fairly well for events like this

Yeah so anyways, back to the topic at hand...

Ill probablly be there, however as explained in the other drag thread Im a little worried about this 130mph rule... So ill let you all know as soon as I can clear things up and get my slicks of course...

No one wants to see me doing skids half way down the track again...

It was fun tho...

I find it hard to believe a sponsor or 3 couldn't kick in $1-2k to help discount a full day to members, considering the advertising and full day's marketing they could receive. It wouldn't even have to be a performance workshop specifically.. it could be autobarn, a tyre-place, etc of this world where that sort of money is a pittance. Just think how much it costs to put a TV ad on for a few seconds.

I am sure the official '$36' test and tunes would be significantly more if not for sponsorship of the companies with their billboards down the track, etc.

also sponsors may be able to help a little

Bring it on!!!

Some rivalries with the REXes, a SAU club day with some bbq and racing for less than $100 will be great fun.

I think I will bring my r32 out nxt Sat. Lets see how much slower the current synchro gearbox will b compare to my previous dogbox.

See you guys there.

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
