Is everyone aware that as a factory option you could get the word Skyline lit up at the rear of the car.

I shit you not, I was at a Jap site which had a factory Skyline brochure, which showed this option, I believe there was even a choice of blue or green.

I'll see if I can dig up the link it was a little while ago.

a5h why? what is the point, is your car rice? if it isnt and you put neons on and people make fun of your car just race them and show them how much rice your car has in it; i saw a honda civce (however u spell it) with green neons the car was shit and everyone laught at it but then we saw a rx-7 with blue neons and everyone was like dame thats nice wish that was my car.

Skyline arnt rice (unless u put 10million stickers on it) neon would look nice

A5h you should just do what YOU want dude. If you dont go overboard then you shouldnt have a problem. Alot of people will think its rice but who cares. You own a great car. Chances are, most of the people who will say stuff own a POS! People are always going to hang shit on your car, no matter what you do to it!

As for the cops. I wouldnt drive around with them on all the time but if you dont drive like a dickhead you shouldnt have a problem with the police at all.

Cheers

Mat

yeah i agree docile, i already had a group of tossers hanging out of a pos early 1980's commonwhore doing wank symbols to me as i drove by, (normally not even with BOV noise) so there are always going to be d!ckheads out there.

as for the cops, they should draw no attention by the cops as i have no intention of driving with them on, only when i am getting in and out of the car :(

ive always wanted neons but i cant afford the fines and i dont think its worth havin if they are only on wen u r parked (unless you intend 2 sit in the parked car all the time) im happy with just having neons inside the car but if you like it go for it! i think it looks sik!!

add the neons mate.

if it looks shit, then take then off, im sure there would be someone willing to buy them off of you.

If your hooking up the neons with a switch, then if should be fine mate, if there is people around that would bag you out, turn it off, easy.

I think neons would look sweet, the ones that light up the whole underbody of the car, as if its floating on the neon light, like the pic tosh posted.

its your car man do whatever the hell you like.... if you only bought the skyline to impress ppl and you think adding neons is going to add to that then you bought the car for the wrong reason...

im going to load my with neons once i get the xbox and 12" lcd installed in the dash... any1 who does't like it can walk....

    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.
    • Punch your VIN (nm35-xxxxxx) into Amayama.com You can see everything there quite easily.
    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
    • OK, so again it has been a bit of a break but it was around researching what had been done since I didn't have access to Neil's records and not everything is obvious without pulling stuff apart. Happily the guy who assembled the engine had kept reasonable records, so we now know the final spec is: Bottom end: Standard block and crank Ross 86.5mm forgies, 9:1 compression Spool forged rods Standard main bolts Oil pump Spool billet gears in standard housing Aeroflow extended and baffled sump Head Freshly rebuilt standard head with new 80lb valve springs Mild porting/port match Head oil feed restrictor VCT disabled Tighe 805C reground cams (255 duration, 8.93 lift)  Adjustable cam gears on inlet/exhaust Standard head bolts, gasket not confirmed but assumed MLS External 555cc Nismo injectors Z32 AFM Bosch 023 Intank fuel pump Garret 2871 (factory housings and manifold) Hypertune FFP plenum with standard throttle   Time to book in a trip to Unigroup
