if they really wanted to solve the issue they would be reviewing and puting restrictions on businesses or making high user businesses get in some form of water reuse structure or something... they use up over 60% of our water. Why the f*k is Flemmington still allowed to use 1million litres a day? imagine how many other places around are like that.

im glad i dont have to vote... if i did have the power to vote i would be voting for yoda.

Irrigation water is still in big open channels and the water is subject to massive evaporation. something in the realm of 80% evap.

Industry uses a craptacular amount of water, but industry needs to continue otherwise people loose jobs.

Heavy users of water ie. Powercoating plants, Race Courses, places like Coke and Pepsi C.U.B all need to be regulated and made to install rainwater and filter plants.

Every new home and every renovation over a certain amount of area needs to include a mandatory Grey water system for toilets. Rainwater tanks should be used for washing clothes and washing cars and watering the garden.

After the wedding, I'll be putting in a water tank somewhere in my house (you can get under house bladders that look to work quite well) so that I can have grass and a clean car again.

I haven't washed my car since I got the new paint job. It hurts me

Water...wouldnt touch the stuff. Fish piss in it. Just use plenty of BO basher and throw away clothes once you have worn them a few times. Unless you cheated death or got lucky whilst wearing them. Then its ok to launder them

Every bottle is rinsed many times, and the out sides are then rinsed as well.

They use Uber Loads of water.

Just because they make money doesnt mean they should be using millions of litres a day, especially to do something we arent, water our gardens. The racecourse and other businesses that use water for means other then drinking products should all be made to use recycled water when the infrastructure is in place... not the everyday consumer.

Im going to be installing at least 4 water tanks at my joint so i can water the lawn, have water fights or simply stand there for hours watering the roof if i want but even if everyone did that it isnt going make much of a difference.

There is bore water... one of the girls here is going to do it and not tell the council because they charge something stupid for it.

What I meant was - they make money (not nearly what it's worth though) by selling drinking water that should be going to the public, but they make money from it so it's not going to stop eg gambling, speed cameras etc.

20% - Industry

10% - Domestic

I wash my car at home, in the driveway where evryone can see every week...

What you do is go to bunnings and buy a big wheelie bin, and fit a tap at the bottom if it with a hose connection. (I think they even sell these now)

Take one of your downpipes off and put the bin underneath. You might need some PVC stuff.

Wait for it to rain, it will eventually. About 45mins of rain and its full.

Plug in your washer and away you go. Easy .

But then they could dick you for the hot soapy water you use....MEH

We use about 400 ltrs per day in our household. 1 million ltrs would last 2500 days or 6.8 years of water usage!!!!!!!!

That is ridiculous, we dont even water the garden unless I am bucketing the water out of the kids bath!!
