Hey guys.

Now as much as i love driving my 33, i've come to realise i drive it too much and want to look after it as much as i can.

And so i have decided on buying myself a 2nd car. I'm obviously looking for something reliable and cheap to run. I dont care about looks etc...

I know it depends on the previous owners and how well it has been looked after but im just after a general idea.

I have heard that the old Corrolla is a reliable car as with the Ford Lasers and TX5's.

If any have you have a cheap old shitty run a round let me know of your experiences.

So any suggestions will be appreciated. Will hopefully be getting something before the weekend....

Cheers

get an excell sprint... its cheap.. runs on an oily rag.. and when theres a problem with it over 1000 bucks throw it away

even though its an hyundai.. it is a good run around car if you throw oil at it and dont race it.

3000-5000 clams will get you one with under 100,000kms on it.. who cares what it looks like.. just dont rice it up

Get a small motorcycle, if you just want it as a daily driver/rider it's damn cheap. And when it rains just take the car to work.

I personally do the opposite.

Have a car for daily duties and a bike for fun.

But they are damn cheap to register, and run, well little bikes are. My 750 is quite expensive when it comes to tyres etc.

AE92 Corolla twin cam, with the 4age motor

even an AE82 twin cam corolla

will last forever.

Deffinately  !!!, I have heard from countless people about the bullet proof reliability of these things, some are a little expensive for their age on carsales, but look after them and they will go forever!!

To me for around the $3 - $5k mark you cannot go past this car!

r31 skyline mate

from an auto executive model, up to the silhouette range, GREAT runabouts

and surprisingly fuel efficient even though they are 3ltr straight 6

silhouette models are LSD (most worn out) and trip computers etc

BEST seating position out of many cars that i have sat in, also quite good if you;re a tall or big bloke

the wagons are good for throwing a lot of shit in the back.

19 15" rims to be precise

    • Out of curiosity, how do you cover up the inspection hole? Surely it doesn't sit open like that, right? With grime and dirt coming in and oil going out?
    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything
