LoL...get ready to read my essay :P

So it looks like my streak of having good neighbors has finally come to an end. Im fortunate im only renting atm so whilst it is a bit of an inconvenience god only knows how much worse it could have been if i owned the place.

I've only been there two years yet i've encountered these problems:

-On two occasions their teenage sons violently attacking my dog from the fence with broom sticks sharpened as spears, rocks, as well as trying to kick her when she's fighting back. (she's a pitbull, so it makes me worried if she actually grabs a hold of em)

-Extreemly loud music, as it appears they have some sort of DJ equipment/speakers.

-Friends of their teenagers jumping over the fence "apparently" to retrieve their ball when i was taking the dog for a walk, and coming home to find the garage window smashed.

Needless to say, these events have made me a little paranoid, so i would regularly look out the kitchen window to see if there is anything un-toward as they are my back neighbors and have put a small camera in the dining room window shelf facing my garage as i park the GTR there....and so what happens over the weekend as a result?

-They erect a massive board (approx 3m x 1m) with some spray painting of a stickman waving, almost asif to say "Hello, we can see you"

I live on my own and am a quite person so i dont have wild parties with 439527634 ppl over getting drunk or make very much noise. And as im working 6 days a week and generally too tired to do anything on my days off the place is generally empty anyways except for my dog. In all instances i have tried to speak to the father that lives there only to be confronted with an extreemly arrogant attitude. Im guessing it may have something to do with the fact my landlord leased the place to me instead of their sister-in-law as he had his doubts about them too. Otherwise, i dont know any other reason why they would act in such a manner.

Looks like im gonna be moving now, but when im gone i may come back for a visit ;)

Anyways, thats my gripe for this morning. Anyone else around here had any bad experiences? How did u deal with it?

...and would you have any advice for my situation?

Since you're leaving - time to throw one of these parties... only one rule at this party - the bins / toilets are "over the fence" ;)

I've been at the same place for close to 20 years now; and have generally had a good set of neighbours to deal with except for the following:

1) Set of bogan kids thinking it's cool to spray paint racial abuse on my driveway (speaking to parents and threatening to press charges got that sorted)

2) Neighbour thinking it's ok to park us in 24/7 (sorted by going out at random hours of the night where he'd have to get up and move his car)

3) Neighbour's cats attacking my cat (sorted when their cat died)

4) Neighbour complaining about me washing my car (sorted when I complained about the "funky" smells coming from his house on Sat nights)

Ive lived in 9 houses and never once spoken to any of my neighbours

And you can bet if i found any one of them hitting my dog with anything i'd be jumping their fence and violently attacking them with more than a broom stick. Next time you see them pulling this shit make a scene with their parents so that they'll think twice about farking with you shit again. They fear their parents more than they'll ever fear you

Sorry to hear mate as it really does hinder your time at home. My parents have had something similar but their neighbours are just incredibly thick and not nasty, they just don't think. They are Church going Christians but really have little idea of the real world :)

We have been fairly lucky with neighbours except this idiot downstairs who plays metallica and nirvana loud at all hours of the day. Not good in an apartment.

By the sounds of yours, they are almost trying to get rid of you to get their sister in law in, from what you have written.

Short of making a complaint each time to the landlord or having any proof of criminal damage, I don't that there is a lot you can do, legally. Maybe is time to move on if you have been there a couple of years. :/

BTW - Very accomodating landlord to let you have a dog! :P We had cats and our landlord was fine with them but he was our neighbour too so no wild parties and he wasnt a fan of GOLGO or the cossie in the garage that shook all his windows on idle! ;)

Dusn't look like their parents have much control if they're doing all this shit... i say move out if its much of an issue, then petrol bomb their house ;)

My mrs had these neighbours that were the most disfunctional sons of bitches i have ever come across, they terrorised the st, late at night they use to yell and scream with their domestics and shit, they even threatend me by saying "i'll f**k your car up", now f**k i understand you can call peope names etc. etc. but you dont touch the f**kn car and thats rule #1.

Well nothing happened to the car (lucky for them cos a petrol bomb would have come through their bedroom window at around 3am the next morning) but the police got sick of coming around and started ignoring calls from other neighbours.

These f**ks were soo bad that other neighbours got a restraining order against them and went to court and all...dept of human services ended up kicking them out and now they're gone thank god for that.. so peaceful now... but yea nothing worse than feeling uncomftable in your own property.. something you have to pay money for... and goes to show sometimes you cant fight fire with fire...

My old neigbour used to be young dudes, well back in the days when i was much younger as well,

They used to have a pool, therefore they pretty much have parties every weekend during summer, till really late like 3, 4am in the morning. Not only that, they used to chuck beers bottle my fence, once, twice, three times and i've had enough so i seriously chuck my dog's poo back over the fence, INTO the pool AhAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHA.

After that, they still have party every now and then but they were well behaved LOL.

    • Nah that is not actually a lot. Just painting my GTR frontend and the little bits to make sideskirts/nismo flare pieces work correctly/fit on the sedan/mount up correctly came to about $7000. Is it a lot? Sure. None of this is economical. Economy would be shelling the car and buying a 2010 Corolla to commute in. The perspective of all of this is different.
    • I have the 2025 build re003s’ on my 06 XT Forester Turbo and I quite rate them for street wet and dry
    • I don't see any issues here. I've been saying all along this is a big job, the price reflects that.  When the car comes back perfect I'm sure it will feel like money well spent.
    • Remember, take original quote. Double it. Then add a bit more. It's how any project goes.
    • So, I started this repair and got as far as "fixing" the holes with some fibreglass. God all those years working on boats came back quickly. I decided I'd reach out to some rust guys just to see what they would say about it. I came across a guy about 40 mins away and went to see him. He said the windscreen needs to come out, that there might be some more bits around the windscreen and he'd quote them at the time. But his quote was $300 to remove and replace windscreen and $3k for the damage he can see. He said he could respray the roof for $1200 and the bonnet for another $800 (somebody has previously rattle canned it, its horrendous). This is $5300 + any small additional bits. It's a lot, I get that and the name of one of my fave youtube channels 'Not Economically Viable' comes to mind.  I'm not being financially rational, but I've taken him up on the quote. He's opening a new shop in November with more room, so we're waiting for that. I'll leave the currently missing headliner out until then. I'm looking forward to it being fixed and having the paint looking nice again (lots of clear coat issues on the roof too). / flame suit on.
