ok guys im goin to build a stage 3 hks 2.8 stroke and im wanting 670-700 awhp its for street and track so i want to least amount of lag. it looks like a hks to4z will be my best option but if any1 has any ideas or other comments please do and if any 1 with this turbo can comment and give me ideas woud be great

As stated in the other thread you need a 900-1000hp huffer.

A T04Z is not one of these.

Plus for the circuit, i hope you have very deep pockets beause stopping and turning is going to cost you a fortune

ive got trust grex 6 piston up front and 4 piston down back and tein coilovers and hardware to match

if the TO4Z isnt big enough what will it max out at

Ive done a bit of research on the T04Z lately, as im currently tossing up between the T04Z and a pair of GT-RS.

700awhp is prob right at its limit, if not past it, couple of the guys on the forum have them and are running well into the 600whp range, but that is pushing limits.

I think HKS quotes them as a 700hp turbo. So i think you will need to go bigger, which means more lag = bad news for the track.

A set of high mount twins like Piggaz suggested could be a good bet.

700awhp is some serious power for a track/street set up.

Good luck with the build, HKS 2.8 is a good choice IMO. :P (if i can scrounge the funds it will be what i go for  )

I can be wrong, and im prob very wrong but ive heard someone telling me before that he has a HKS 2.8l with s T04Z doing 735whp?

Or could that be 735hp at the crank?

I would go for a high mount twin GTRS or 2835. If single, maybe a T88-33 or 34D?

jun 2.7l with 22psi making 605rwhp on pump fuel, its seriously running out of power after that i reckon considering it made 585rwhp on 18psi. i'd say mid 600s or so on race fuel is the limit and my setup uses big big cams and full head porting and supporting gear to push it.

    • We have a huge update coming in the next few months, version 5 of Invision will be released. I'm holding off any changes until after this change as I'm not sure what features will be removed or introduced.
    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching
    • Quite right, if you make it to that pension you deserve every cent
    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
