Hi Guys

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but i need a bit of help.

I will be installing my nismo 555cc injectors and setting up my power fc for the injectors in the next couple of weeks (running a HKS 3037 Pro S and all the supporting mods) before i book it in for a tune, i have worked out the injector correction and injector latency correction numbers that i need to change in the PFC, can somone please comfirm for me that these are 100% correct? :)

"INJECTOR CORRECTION"

- Formula = stock 370cc divided by nismo 555cc = 0.66cc x 100 = 66%.

So i would go into the power fc and change the INJ correction to 66%, correct?

"INJECTOR LATENCY CORRECTION"

From what i have found the latency for the nismo's is 0.71msec and stock is 0.52msec

- Formula = nismo 0.71msec minus stock 0.52msec = 0.19msec

So i would change the INJ Latency numbers for each injector to 0.19msec, correct?

Hopefully this can help people in the future that are looking for the correction numbers :D.

By the way, someone should sticky this thread!!

Cheers

i did not check your maths but the theory and formula's are correct.

therefore if your maths is correct you are ok to go

I'll check mine, I have 555cc Nismo's running.

I found anything under 0.30ms and I couldn't do a thing.

They were really hard to set.

You can have my settings if you want, they seem to work perfectly.

I think its 77% and 0.44msec. I'll double check on my way home this afternoon.

Sounds good , would be good to have your settings just incase mine dont work when i put my numbers into the power fc

Any idea why yours only work on 0.30msec? did you try the 66% and 0.19msec (using the formula in the power fc FAQ) before adjusting them yourself?

Is anyone else using nismo 555cc's able to go into there PFC and check what settings they have theirs set to? would be a big help!

Cheers

  • 3 weeks later...

I just finished installing my nismo 555cc injectors, i set up the injectors settings in the PFC like this: injectors correction = 66%, latency correction = 0.18msec (when i worked this out i came up with 0.19msec but the PFC latecy correction only goes up in 2's so i had to choose either 0.18msec or 0.20msec, i tried both and they didnt seem to be much different).

Started the car and it seems to run ok, i havent driven it, have only had it idling, it seems to idle "ok" but it is a bit rough, does this sound normal? is it just running a bit to rich? it dosent seem to smell overly rich.

Im dropping my car off to the tuners on monday so imtrying to get everything running the best i can so he dosent have to spend to much time stuffing around with it.

I got this figure from Google as i wanted to get the 555cc NISMO injectors for my GTS25t as well. Latency is 0.75msec. So settings for my Apexi Power FC are calcutated as such;

370 / 555 = 0.67 x 100 = 67%

0.75 - 0.528 = +0.222msec

Something like that.

I just went out and started my car up again just to see how it was running, took two goes to get it started, still idling very lumpy, also it is now "spitting" lots of white smoke out the exhaust and smells super rich, almost like its just spraying pure petrol out the exhaust, it dosent idle to bad just a bit lumpy and rough, took out #1 spark plug and it was a little wet and smells of fuel.

Will the white smoke just be from it running way to rich? i always thought if it was running too rich it would have been black smoke, the smoke dosent smell like oil at all.

I think i might just leave the settings how they are now, even though its not running to great, im sure my tuner will be able to sort things out.

ok well i'll tell you my experiences...

I was using the default setting for what should be correct for the nismos 555ccs: being 66.5% and 0.18ms.

my car (r33 rb25det) was running way to rich so now im still running 0.18ms latency but 60% injector size correction. i once read that the factory injectors are 340cc not 370cc.

has anyone ever actually measured them??? or got this info from nissan?

Just had my car tuned a couple of days ago, he left used the injector settings that i had already set up in the PFC.

So just to clarify for future rb25det owners in the process of setting up their PFC for nismo 555cc injectors, use these settings, just like shown in the PFC FAQ

INJ correction = 66%

Latency correction = 0.18msec

Hope this helps people in the future!

Cheers

So what would be the correction for:

Going from 555cc to 740cc Nismo?

ignore the fact you have 555 and refer to the simple formula divide the original injector cc by the new injector cc. In your case 50%

hey guys

i finally have some nismo 555cc injectors for my R32 gtst with rb20det. I am running a remaped ecu at the momment and will be changing over to the pfc pro i have laying around and these injectors before i drive it most likely to godzilla motorsports for a tune.

I am trying to work out two things so i can drive it there. What the new injector correction and latency is, and also if i need to add a gtr resistor pack when i install the injectors. I am only second guessing things because i noticed they have the same part number as the 555s for the 32 gtr. I purchased them from greenline and they didnt say anything about needing one but i didnt ask either.

I have read thru the pfc faq (thanks paul), and from what i can work out the correction and latency is something like this:

Old SIZE / New Size = Correction

New Latency - Old Latency = Latency Correction

So i think rb20 stock is

260 / 555 = .4684 * 100 = 46.8468%

.? - .71 = ?

So basically i dont know the latency for the nismo 555cc injectors when they are for the rb20det, i think most of the info in this thread is for the yellow rb25 ones

Cheers guys

    • Has equal chance of cleaning an AFM and f**king an AFM. I think you can work out what happened. When the Hitachi ECU sees the AFM die and goes into the associated limp mode, then it will start and run just fine, because it ignores the AFM and just runs on idle maps that will do what it needs to get it going. But there is no proper load signal, so that's about all it can do. My suggestion? If you don't want to go full aftermaket ECU, then get some R35 GTR AFM cards and some housings to put them in, in the stock location, and Nistune the ECU. Better to do a good upgrade than just replace shitty 40 year old tech with the same 40 year old tech.
    • So my car was recently having trouble starting on initial crank, I would need to feather the gas for it to start up but besides that it would start and run fine. So I clicked the idle air control valve (with throttle body cleaner) and cleaned the MAF sensors (with MAF cleaner). The start up issue was fixed and now the car turns over without the assist of the throttle, but the car is in limp mode and wont rev past 2.5k RPM. From what I understand the IACV would not put the car in limp mode, so I am to believe it is the MAF sensors, but it was running fine before and now I cant get it out of limp mode. I cleaned the MAF made sure the o rings were seated properly. Made sure the cables were plugged in properly, the cables also both read the same voltage. Does anybody know why this is or what could be causing this or how to get it out of limp mode?
    • Ooo I might actually come and bring the kids, however will leave the shit box home and take the daily
    • Thanks. Yeah I realised that there's no way I'd be able to cover the holes with the filler, it would just fall through. Thanks again @GTSBoy!
    • That was the reason I asked. If you were going to be fully bodge spec, then that type of filler is the extreme bodge way to fill a large gap. But seeing as you're going to use glass sheet, I would only use that fibre reinforced filler if there are places that need a "bit more" after you've finished laying in the sheet. Which, ideally, you wouldn't. You might use a blob of it underneath the sheet, if you need to provide some support from under to keep the level of your sheet repair up as high as it needs to be, to minimise the amount of filler you need on top. Even though you're going bodge spec here, using glass instead of metal, the same rules apply wrt not having half inch deep filler on the top of the repair. Thick filler always ends up shitting the bed earlier than thin filler.
