Hi all,

well I think it would be super helpful if there was a thread listing any defect/RW stations you come across, so we can all avoid the area. Please post in this thread if you see one and state: location, time, if you know who they are targeting specifically and anything else of importance.

Please keep all whoring/chatter out of this thread, thanks.

To start us off...

Location: front of Nunawading Police Station, pulling cars off Whitehorse Rd

Time: 2:30pm

Alternative Route: Use Springfield Rd

Targeting: unknown

Finish Time: still going at present

Can I hijack this post with temp cop car booze car locations?

Saw a marked Commo wgn setting up on high st outside the Iris Buffet in High St, Glen Iris @ 11pm last night (Fri) to BAc ppl. Maybe a new thread is req'd for this.

As usual, you wouldn't see them til it's too late (if you exited the Monash Fwy outbound.

I personaly feel driving with a minor defect loud exhaust bov cooler etc.. etc is one thing but drink driving you deserve the full extent of the law.. and I understand thats a bit of a lop sided view but Im sure many of the people here agree with that too.

^^ I agree 100% although you can recieve defects from going through booze buses, so yeah I think we should let people know about everything and everywhere cops are setting up. If you drink and drive I hope you end up in a gutter dead or a paraplegic.!! :bunny:

I do agree that you deserve to be caught when DUI, but...

^^ I agree 100% although you can recieve defects from going through booze buses.

I was ushered into a booze bus session one night. Passed the BAC test with flying colours and as they told me to move on another officer waltzed up and told me to pull over.

I failed a roadworthy inspection and copped a canary. :'-(

Yep same with Michael, did the booze bus thing and blew a 0.00 and was told to drive up on the median strip and got defected for stupid b/s.

So I think booze buses should also be posted due to this. Would be good if you guys could state if they actually appeared to be defecting people or that you're not sure.

Dave - just keep it in the same thread. Thanks guys, especially Espo.. I would have driven down that way if I hadn't seen your post! :(

OMG I just got waved through a big booze/drugs thing in the R32 :thumbsup: Miracles DO happen!

I almost had a heart attack when I saw them and was dreading standing in the cold next to the open bonnet..

Not sure if they are actually defecting or not tho, but a ricer commodore was pulled over and standing next to his car..

Location: Mahoneys Rd Thomastown (both sides) - between like the carwash and freeway overpass I think

Time: 11pmish

Alt Route: Use freeway - Western Ring Rd is clear

Targeting: Mostly commodores pulled over

Finish Time: still going at present

There was a DRUGS/BOOZE/RWC station set up last night on Mickleham Rd, just as you turn into Greenvale. I got breath tested, passed ok, then told to go onto median strip behind an STI. The STI was getting a reaming from the cop, so I thought the fun would soon start for me.

The cop was actually quite reasonable and fair however. He looked under the hood, tested the exhaust noise and sent me on my way after a little chat him and I had. No issues for me!

Hi guys one after noon cumn back from trade skool between lygon st and sydney rd on brunswick side there was a DRUGS?BOOZE/RWC Station i was fine as i didnt have to go through there but saw it at bout 3:30 down the side street on a median strip

no trying to Hi-jack this thread , but didnt know where else to post.. Has anyone Around the Sth East suburbs of Melb, Seen a yellow For BA XR8, with black G-max dished Rims, tinted windows and loads of aerials coming off it?? is this a "Undercover," aka "UC" as me and my homies call em?

This may be an understatement - but Princess Highway - Nobile Park area - drive down their with a Skyline - they will get you for anything they can put their hands on... watch out...

And yes, Booze business also have the authority to defect our cars on the spot! WATCH OUT.

Well, yes yes, poor innocent rocked down there a few times and got 2 canaries, 4 speeding fines and couple of fines ... LOL

"Innocent" would generally mean not committing an offence. And, last time i checked, speeding is an offence. So 'innocent' is probably not the best description. I don't know what you got canaried for, generally a defective vehicle/unroadworthy etc, also not an 'innocent' offence. :)

Also noticied a bit of activity out the Tullamarine area lately with regards to defect stations.

      Car has been running great, I've put about 300km's of break in time on it. First thing that stands out with properly sealing rings is no more noticeable crankcase smell coming out of my catch can. This may seem insignificant, but the constant smell while driving around was infuriating. It's also nice to see my oil level remain stable. Two new issues have developed that I only noticed this weekend though. There's a very noticeable driveline vibration past 100kmh. I only noticed it now as I've been babying it under 100kmh in the backroads. This comes as no surprise as I'm running a one-piece shaft, and I paid zero attention to my driveshaft angle when I put everything back in. I also have a fair bit of voltage drop on hot starts. The starter audibly is forcing. No issues on cold start though. I must not have removed all the paint under my main block ground during assembly. I'll try and take care of both those issues this week once the kids are asleep.  I also received all the parts I was missing for my direct port setup. I will hopefully have pictures of that up soon. I'm hoping to get back on the dyno the week of June 30th as I'll be on vacation. I'm confident I should be able to make north of 500rwkw on pump gas and WMI. I'll go back again later this summer with E98, but I want to confirm my ethanol content sensor is working properly first. I've never seen it read anything but 11%. This makes sense for our 10% ethanol content pump gas here, but I would expect the occasional movement between fill ups.

      75% complete. Will now need to get a new axle with 5x114.3 hubs and then figure out how to customize some mudguards for it once the wheels are on.

      Trailer prep is underway... Lined up the wheel to get a rough indication of how it would sit Then removed all the bits (as far as possible) and gave the frame a light sand and quick lick of paint   Then added some carpet

      okay, so I figured this out, removed needles and reinstalled after swapping the gauge face on my triple gauge for my ER34, all work and look good. I tried to do the same for the main cluster, but the main cluster gauge faces are dished, the replacement gauge face are flat, so due to the dish in the org face ,mounting backing plate (clear) and depth of the needle, the flat gauge face will not work. I notice that R34 gtr gauges are flat, appears to be different clear backing plate that aren't dished. are these available, or what have others done to install flat gauge faces?
