Bam, Your a bitch too, so that makes 6:p

Anyway, ignoring the whoring, I agree that the females in SAU have contributed substantially to the social atmosphere of the club, and I'd hope that they would be willing to put themselves forward as committee members.

i just dont want this becoming political in any way - ive seen this happen with other car clubs and it just becomes a total shit fight.

what would exactly be your involvement if u did run for a position? or did i miss that about 3 or 4 pages ago?

If the guys would like a female on the committee then i will put myself forward - career wise Event Management is what i hope to do anyway so it would be good experience for me - but...... I think its not fair to have someone on the committee just because their female when there is guys that have been around longer than us and probably better to do the job ..... so if a female wasnt elected to the committee dont think us girls are going to have a tanty about it and take it personally :)

I belong to 3 other clubs that are CAMS affiliated and to be perfectly honest , it's a head **** that I don't really want.

Ask yourself how many of the club members are going to regularly and seriously compete in events that require a CAMS lic.

what you have to realise is that by going down this path , all events we run will have to be to CAMS rules with the appropriate fees paid ( yes , even a cruise or static display).

There are reports to be filled in , permits to obtain , stewards to find etc etc.

My opinion is that for the serious ones , there is ample car clubs they can join to get the CAMS benefits which are cheap and for the rest we keep it a more social club with cruises etc that if something goes wrong , then there is nothing formal.

My thoughts

Ken

I like kens thinking, perhaps on another idea we, affilliate ourselves with a cams affilliated club, so that everyone who joins this club joins that club too. If that makes sense. I get from the posts in this thread that people just want a bit more formality about the club, we could start having agms and monthly meetings, but anything more then that would be as ken puts it, a headbonk. though i could see this not doing enough to make our could be sponsors happy.

To give an example , the AFARCC was giving memberships for $20 plus your level 2 lic.

They are running a Collie drif... err Sprint day later this month and even if you aren't a club member it's only $70 for the day plus CAMS lic.

We would require a lot of time , money and effort to get to that level and I am sure that if we approached the AFARCC as a group , that price would be cheaper.

So RB20lagwagon has a point in that we remain ourselves but under the banner of a CAMS affiliated club.

No different to the Combined Car Clubs Sports Register which has a lot of minor marque clubs banded under the register.Don't forget though, if we join as a club then we are bound by the CAMS rules( all 600 odd pages ) but if the diehards join a CAMS club to compete and the rest don't , then the social and err.. cruises are a lot less of a drama

    • Ahhh, I need the whole head unit. I definitely needed to roll back through and review your setup, ha ha! Neat setup they have going on. I just need a full double din head unit. But I want good and responsive. I might have to review what the likes of pioneer have out these days.
    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
