Dad's ordered an Amarok to tow his new boat... too bad the wait for the Amarok keeps expanding, even though he's already paid his deposit... been waiting 6 weeks when he was told 3-4 week wait... :whistling: What toy do you have in mind? Is this in addition to the R32?

Northshore + 1, though they don't offer a warranty that I'm aware of. I had the car inspected interstate, and the only issue with the car I saw in the photos. As soon as I looked at the car in person (when I flew there to pick it up), I fixed that issue... gave the rear plastic a bump, and it fit properly again :thumbsup:

That's a surprise, are you positive about that?

I received a 3 month warranty back when I bought mine (they usually offered 12 months) and I thought that dealerships had to offer one by law these days?

There was something offered under NSW law, but I took the car to SA. Not sure if it applies, think ironpaw is right about the age coming into it.

Still applied for me buying from Northshore and bringing the car home to Vic.

If I needed anything fixed (didn't), Ben told me to call him and he would give the repairer his CC details over the phone.

I'd be surprised if you didn't have any kind of warranty.

if its under 10 years old and 180,0000km, they are required by law to offer 3 months 'factory' warranty. tyres, battery, brakes, lights etc arent covered.

they DO have warranty, and they will honour it interstate also

Hi all. First post here so please be gentle :) actually, i am not only new to this site, but new to nissans, turbocharged cars and imports!!!

the missus and i are looking for a "family" wagon, we have number two munchkin on the way and the 4 door lancer we currently have isnt cutting it for obvious reasons. I have been aware of Stagea's for a while, and to be honest nothing else seems to fit all of our criteria (space, comfort, price, and something to keep my right foot interested....)

i have been madly reading up on them inthe hopes of heading off any concerns the missus might have (and so far there really doesnt seem to be too much to worry about here :)) but i have just a couple of questions that i havent been able to find answers for while looking through the threads (apologies if they are stupid questions, hang on, there are no stupid questions, only stupid people right??)

firstly, on the M35's, where are the anchor points for child seats? in the roof of the luggage area like the C34's? also, we did test drive a C34, and i liked it, but the wife doesnt like the looks (i do...) and she thought the steering was too heavy. while i thought it was heavier than i was expecting, i didnt think it was too excessive. i thought it may have been due to the one we drove having 4 wheel steering, would this be correct?

anyway, after talking things through, she seems to prefer the looks of the M35 (no issues from me there, i like them too) and she would like to know if the steering will be heavy on them too. i know the only way to know is to drive one, and we are in the process of finding one we like, but i thought if i can tell her it is better it will help my case!

anyway, sorry for the long post. hopefully i can convince the boss and we will have a nice new family bus soon. thankyou for the replies in advance!

The steering is nice and light on the M35, but its not so light that you cant feel the wheels. However to be honest its too light for MY liking, but my wife rekons its fine for her.

the anchor points are in the roof, yes. depending on the compliance place, it might be close to the tailgate, or around 400mm in (where mine are)

good luck with looking for one! if you find a good one interstate, the drive home will be awesome :)

also check out northshore as they have the 3.5L models available, all automatic, but they also have RWD models

Thanks guys, much appreciated. as she will be driving it just as much as me we need to get something she will be happy with too. i was actually happily surprised when she said she preferred the M35. there are a couple around at the moment, and one not far from us which we are thinking of going to see. not averse to getting one from interstate either, its just transferring rego back here that can sometimes be an issue. it would be a great way to get to know the car with a nice long drive back. :cool:

its good to read that they are generally pretty reliable too. we wont be modifying it at all to be honest (well, at least not in ways that the wife will notice.....) i already have my "toy" which i think would be wise not to mention in this company :whistling: ( i am worried i wont be able to get any replies if you all found out what it is...), but i just dont see why i should get a boring car just cos we need more room, the job now is convincing the wife that it is actually a sensible choice ;)

I have the toy for towing if i need it, but that is unsuitable as a family car. I am probably what you would describe as a typical aussie bogan, but i try not to let that get in the way of appreciating any car for what it is. from everything i have seen Stagea's look good, have all the mod cons, drive well and are a lot more individual than a holden or falcon wagon. even the wife doesnt want a falcodore!

I ended up with the NM35 for much the same reason; love a wagon, but the usual suspects, Falcons, Commo's, Magna's :blink: held absolutely no appeal.

My missus loves driving it, good visibility, easy to park (except one gutter) and she quite likes the old TLGP, and the anonymity with the constabulary.

Add a few choice mods, and they step up to another level :whistling:.

The bolded above will be a big winner! not the best at parking is Mrs Wombat. how you reverse into a tree that is wider than the car you are in i will never know.....

hmm, looking on the net there doesnt seem to be too many around with leather at the moment, and none here in SA. is it really that much of an improvement? i do like leather, but i am also impatient! once i have decided, and can convince the missus i will want one asap (i know, not the best attitude to have) maybe once we have sorted finances there may be more available....

    • A few things that seem a bit off here. - why is there 2 BOV’s?  - the turbo smart BOV on the compressor housing, is it turned up ALL the way? I have seen this become an issue on old man Pete’s car. It would push open and recirc, turbo speed would rise and the boost pressure would do weird things. - stock head? Does that include springs? - tried a different MAC valve? Is it plumbed correctly?
    • Photo of manifold showing gate location? I mean, it's 6Boost, so we probably shouldn't be worrying, but always wroth knowing what the layout is. Plumbed back to atmosphere? Or into the dump?
    • Yes correct. Also, I'd avoid applying it to soft paint (however I doubt you'll ever have to deal with it in practice). So any paint that hasn't fully hardened, could be a 1k paint that never fully hardened or it could be a 2k paint that was laid down thick and hasn't yet fully hardened. 
    • Bit of an update to this one. Having some issues on the dyno that held us back (boost spiking) and I want to pass some info over you guys and see what you think is wrong with my setup. The current readout on this dyno is 462rwkw on a low reading dyno so keep in mind it is a real world 500rwkw setup on a hub dyno. Don't read into the power figure too much as a sign of the issue. The short and curly of it is: 2.8 Litre Racepace build RB25 NEO N/A Head with VCT (internally standard however ) Borgwarner EFR 8474  Turbosmart 50mm Straight Gate + Mac valve 6Boost Manifold 4" dump to full 4" exhaust (nil restrictions) Wastegate plumbed back in and all angles in the exhaust system are acceptable and not too sharp. GFB SV52 BOV in cooler piping  Turbosmart BOV in EFR Housing   The issue we are having is it comes onto full boost for example at 4000rpm and spikes to 24/25psi, before dropping down to 17psi before slowly rising back up to the target boost of 23psi. It was extremely uncontrollable and the tuner actually had to ramp in boost progrssively with each 1000rpm on each boost setting we selected to try and reduce the amount of spiking. Sometimes we would see a drop of 10psi from the peak at the beginning of the run, to the low, until it took the next 500-1000rpm to stabilise back up to the target boost. The tuner is pretty confident that the straight gate is just a poorly designed product and leaks too much boost upon cracking the gate open and theres no way to fix it other than going to a poppet valve. He's also confient theres no ignition breakdown or floating valves. The fueling is extremely stable as well. Turbo speed is somewhere around the 109,000rpm area. The spanner in the works for me is that prior to this Borgwarner and StraightGate, the car was tuned on -5 twins at a diferent tuner, and he also had issues controlling the boost with it spiking around the same rpm range, so to me this sounds like the same issue and it can't be anything on the turbo side as this was all changed and I think the behaviour is extremely similar, if not the same. We also removed the mac valve and did a run on wastegate pressure and it still spiked and had the same behaviour. My thoughts on possibilities are: Boost Leak VCT Cam Gear isn't reliably activating consistently - (On this however, we did a run with the VCT disabled and the boost still spiked) Turbosmart BOV is not handling the boost? However this seems unlikely to not be able to handle 20psi. I have a couple of logs that I can't make sense of if anybody knows how to read them and can obtain further logs of other parameters if they are not enough, happy to pay for anyones time. The dyno readout with the power figure is the most recent last week. The other picture is from two weeks prior to that where we couldn't break 400kw (we removed the cat), however the issue of the boost control persisted. @Lithium @Piggaz @burn4005 @GTSBoy @discopotato03 I've tagged those that were quite active in recent pages here, no disrespect to those that know turbos well but I missed tagging.
