Good luck with it - if the N1's enabled you to run 137mph then these should give you enough power! 1:02 at Wakefield will be blisteringly quick on a short tight track.

How much boost you going to run and what power are you aiming for with this set-up?

Great to see you guys are going all out and not doing it half arsed!

YEAH 1:02 is the goal whether we can achieve it is, another question.

looking for power around the 450 - 470 awkw, hopefully with power all the way through to 8500 with a 9000 rpm limit.

should have rotional idle and anti lag switched on for friday too, not aggressive though.

awsome to hear Andrew - we werent to sure about them but that's very encouraging and the new dumps are heaps better than the old set up. we picked up 10 odd kw's at 4wheels from the side pipe and lost about 8-9 kilo's.

the -5's are the smaller style of the n1's right? the .42 instead of the larger n1 which have .60..

i beleive thats the same i have on my car, tho they were rebuilt and a 5mm larger front wheel was added.

just reading garrett now, it appears in your case its reversed. you have the .60.

They are identical to the 2530's except they are .62 instead of .63. But having used both types in the past it is amazing how much of a difference in response the -5's have over the 2530's with no difference in top end at all.

Is the intercooler piping going into and coming out of the turbos an off the shelf product or custom?

yes the piping comin off the turbos, is off the shelf greddy stuff, good gear too!

and no problems with the questions, anytime, collectively there is a whole lot of knowledge on this forum!!

update (just got home)

car has been run in for a few hundred km's, was an interesting drive on the backroads!

back on dyno tomorrow for full tune and see what power and response we can get.

Yes , we have changed from the n1's, will find out if thats a good thing soon enough.

we stayed 2.6ltr because we want to rev it, and feel this is a safer option in that area as piston speeds increase with lengthening the stroke. fine for drag and short work but not as nice on longer distance stuff, i was lucky enought to be able to speak to the tomei crank engineer for a little while about the cranks and set ups while i was in japan, which was very interesting.

A/R and wheel size are not the same thing by the way.

yes there was a long wait on standard replacment from garrett, so 5mm larger was the closest size up. tho i think it was the whole cartridge replaced..

its so much better now where i lost a bit of midrange/top before i've not got a smoother powerout put all the way thru.

i'm done hyjacking!!

okay guys,

update

todays test was an absolute success and was also vital to find out where we are heading!

we broke all our previous PB's, by large margins( the day was very hot, track temp was 52 degrees, so there will be even more in it)

sprint 53.84 !!

national 1:16.6 ( and was held up a fair bit)

car was running 244kph on the front straight !! (on radar)

we had a power steering belt come off in the afternoon and give us a scare as it took out the dry sump belt,

(luckily it warns you straight away as the steering goes heavy and mark shut it down before we had no oil pressure and the car was on decel)

also played with suspension and alignment and got good results.

this is exciting as the power has not been increased yet over the old engine setup (rpm has though to 8500)

i will have some pics and vids up over the weekend( too tired now)

i run a hobbs switch (monitoring oil pressure) that triggers two relays...one to cut fuel the other ignition when low oil pressure is seen. It saved our last engine when the oil pump disintergrated.

Well done on the progress guys...I suppose you and Mark are giving Tsukuba a hammering on Gran Turismo 4

Also when at Tsukuba, do you plan on letting a Japanese driver with much more experience at that circuit have a steer?

But isn’t the butterfly intake a headache with the +T?  see this is my plan so far but please advise me into the right direction.  Nistune Ecu, 1000cc Bosch injectors, TD05 or TD06 Kinugawa turbo using stock rb25det exhuast manifold, walbro fuel pump unsure of model I think it’s 450/460, spitfire coils and sparks to suit and a R35 MAF sensor and boost sensor.    I was thinking maybe do a cheap eBay plenum $400-500 or try find a stock det neo intake. I think I’d port match it so it’s getting the full capacity but open to advice please.  Thanks 
    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.  
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.  
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
