Someone will set rules for this thing.

A lot of people won't like them - but will probably compete anyway.

Most people will have a good time (and probably spend too much money).

There will be a bit of whinging after it is all over.

The world will not end if you lose.

Winning does not make you more attractive to women.

You will not be able to give up your job and live a good life on the winnings.

Russ and Mark will still have a f'cken quick car.

;) do you have prove of this??? :D

FIIK. Never seen or hear of Matty before now - even on the forums. But if throwing rocks from a safe distance is all the courage he can muster even in an anonymous threat, I'm not particularly worried.

Matty, you can find me at the next hillclimb - not that you'd even know where that is. Don't dissapoint me now tough guy...

Didn't you know hrd-hr30? Anonimity enhances masculinity by 27.3%

Plus, if you combine that with an addiction to viagra, scientific tests have proven you'll see sporadic outbursts on forums and threats of rock throwing.

Now, let's get back on topic huh

This isn't the school playground it's a motorsport forum

i bet you your car that 'matty' will be finished and chatting to your wife back in the carpark before you can finish. i'm tipping he'll be at this comp and definately in the running.

I'll be in for the time attack, I've just sold my R33 GTS-T but kept a few of the good bits out of it (cage etc), and I should be picking up an R33 GTR Vspec in the next few days or so, I'll just have to work out how to drive it.

But assuming price is affordable, I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Hey, there's a function on all forums called "personal message" and I suggest you use it for this crap.

On topic, i think slicks really arent a requirement.

It keeps in tune with what the other time attacks internationally are doing and allows people to actually drive out there on them instead of changing wheels at the track etc.

Semi slicks also last longer in general then a full slick and can be purchased for less.

How about a control tyre for street class. Get 50 - 100 guys wanting the same set of tyres and I bet a good deal could be worked out with a tyre supplier. That will help the budget minded and bring the parity that is being demanded.

The problem with heaps of tech regs is that someone has to check all the cars. Simpler is better if it is possible.

I agree that Russ should be left to come up with some rules and put them up. Not everyone will agree with them, but if he is putting in the effort to organise such a huge event then I think he should get final say and be respected for it.

Something to remember is that this will be the first event like this so it may not be perfect. Enjoy it and bring back constructive (but not critical) comments to help develop it into the future.

can we have a r31 class

for all the cool people in australia

unlike the posh lady da late sipping g- string wearing i like dimonties and touching myself r32+ driver class

So do the cool people in their R31s take the embroided cushions off their parcel shelves before they hit the track? Or just leave them as if they are driving to the lawn bowls club.

On a more relevant issue, control tyres as a rule suck almost as much as not having one. Unfortunately they will always benefit one car (say a light weight one) more than another.

yeah - also doubt you'll between 50 and 100 people - and most people will already have a set of semi's or something they wanna use...

Yeah that the problem with nominating a brand of tyre or a hardness or tyre or whatever. People who want to enter or be competitive probably have to go and spend yet more money on tyres.

Matt, good job you'll be in the AWD class if you get the car, that way you wont beat me in my class :P

I now want my car back specifically to do that :)

I won't have a chance in the AWD class until I've had some practice! But the best thing about this one is it has one of Duncans attessa controllers, so I can make it very rear biased and hopefully be able to handle it!

Either way, i'm looking forward to it!

actually fatz drives around on a little round rubber doughnut as he constantly has a sore ring... gross but true.

Semi slicks would be good, any brand because they can be used for most events. Slicks are for the try-too-hards, get an open wheeler.

Cars don't have to be checked, leave it to other competitors to dob the cheaters in.

    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
    • I assume clearances were all a-okay?
