Hey BB can you do me a favour and weigh your rim for me please. Fairly accurately if possible. I have some 18x13 coming and I was wondering what they weighed. 19x12 should be close enough for my mind to mull over.

Giant-

I bought new brakes for my toy. Toyota Motorsport kit (TOM'S) 6 piston front, 4 piston rear :(

The tyre guys have been slack, but Im going over there next week so I'll knock on their door and wake em up.

For the R34 what size wheels are you wanting to use, and offset? I guess if AME are offering sponsorship it'll be silly not to accept but aren't they tiawanese or something?

off the top of my head it was 7.9kg on the airport check in scale. :D and it may be a 13" too. I'm not sure what the dude told me, it was either 19X12 or 19X13, but shouldn't make much difference either way. It's about the same weight as my enkei NT03s and my Weds TC05s which is very impressive as both those wheels are very light forged aluminium and are a measly 17X9 in size! bear in mind the GT centre lock wheel is forged magnesium and very thin, hence the light weight. I'd say a forged alloy wheel maybe 10kg or so for that size.

Thanks mate. Mine are forged magnesium too :) Ex-Super GT wheels.

cool, they will be the same then for sure. and cheap too second hand, just make sure they aren't damaged. They will look super cool. :P

Well, mine were very cheap indeed, $90pr...

I figure if they are straight, cool. If not, then they will make exotic hose reels in the workshop lol

In the mean-time I just bought myself a car for SuperLap/Time Attack/Temporary circuit duties.

Just have to wait for it to get here now. It'll be here well before the first Superlap day though so hopefully I'll be able to attend, though it won't be terribly fast, being a Nissan and all :)

The new event will be called Superlap

and will be run at Oran park

Thats great. OP is such a fun track. Only, i have only ever driven there twice in a basically std GTSt back in 2001 or 2002. LOL, so i will be in the same boat as all the Vic hacks with no real lay of the land knowledge. :P

And looking at that shopping list for the R34, i could be interested in the seats. I have given up trying to get a matching Momo seat for my car so need to get two new seats.

yep. 100% has to be the GP layout. i mean this is the last figure 8 tack we have and it's about to become extinct so we may as well use it while we still can. the south layout cuts out some of the coolest bits on the track, and it shortens the straight and removes the fastest corner which reduces the brown moments a bit.

If the event is popular enough, maybe at a later stage there could be a state based series.. but I suppose a once a year road trip to NSW for the interstate people isn't too bad :)

this has definately beem discussed!!

Yuk, Eastern Creek is just a drag strip with a couple of 90o corners thrown in. Its a test of power output not car's balance and driver's skill. Might as well just put the cars on a dyno to see who will win.

Sounds like my kind of place!

Nope, still have the Beemer...

Aren't M3's welcome at OP?:):(

lol thats cool

Didnt you have a 5 series though?

    • That's one of the reasons I got that breed, they look weird, the other reasons are they small, they are very vocal, and run around like they are on crack, I didn't want a breed that just sits around, these two are like kids on red cordial  My daughter has one, and it's a laugh riot, constantly doing Parkour around the house, sits on her shoulder, plays catch, and constantly runs around the house taking turns chasing the dog around, her Bermese though, just lays around with constant bitch face, and just looks on in utter disgust at the cat and dog playing together

    • It's all about the socialisation of the dogs. In that first 8 to 16 weeks of age they need to be taught to be nice and friendly with everything. That way they generalise it to everything. That said, some days you'll just never beat genetics, but 99% of the time dogs chasing cats is purely lack of socialisation, and then the chasing part can turn into prey drive.
