Huh??? I dunno if i get this one. You want to drive round with no rocker covers on and let all the oil spray all over the place. Is this correct.

Or are you talking bout the coil pack cover in the middle.

Sorry maybe i read this post wrong.

As redevil said above many other cars have exposed coilpacks, and I have been driving round for a couple of years now without it on and my car also passed roadworthy without it so I would highly doubt it could be doubed as illegal.

I'm driving mine around without the cover on ATM cos noone can see it and I'm too lazy to put it back (have to pull the intake pipe off).

Legal? NFI, ring the RTA, they are the only ones who can give a definite answer.

Seriously, the cops keep trying to defect people on silly things, which makes everyone ask questions like the one asked at the top of this thread.

Why would it be illegal is the question to ask yourself. Have a look at the relevant law concerning vehicle standards. I see no mention in there of a requirement of a coilpack cover.

Why would it be illegal? Cause like you said cops defect people on stupid things. Cause most cops are assholes. Thats why it would be illegal?

The cops do not make the law. The law is made by parliament. The cops enforce the law.

What I was saying is that as far as i'm aware, there is no law on coilpack covers. So If I wanted to remove mine, I would happily do it (but I don't want to).
