What was massively entertaining was after the race finished and one ITV muppet turned to the other and said "star of the race"?

Now I dislike Hamilton more than most people but I would have conceded on this occasion and said he deserved it by far. Great pass, gutsy strategy, massively quick after dispensing of that third world loser, and the ability to keep kimi at bay for 10 laps without breaking a sweat. Its hard to give it to anybody else.

But because his strategy was never really going to work and their CONSTANT chatter about him during the whole race which most of the time was unrelated to what was happening on screen they were then forced into having to share the spotlight with the guy that actually won... and sounded none to happy about it

lol, loved it

Ha. So why didnt he grab second then i wonder...?

Hamilton for the drive of the race. McLarens strategy was the best of the bunch and Hammo made the most of it - no mistake about that. Seeing the Mac come out infront of KR's Ferrari was sweet and Hammo deserved it.

Great strategy? McLaren are obtuse for fuelling Heiki with 31 laps of fuel with 32 laps to go and needing to change for the option tyres. Makes no sense, what they wanted to slow him down by getting him to carry more fuel? Ditto Hamilton, why they didnt put him on the soft tyres for his second stint, being so short, then run him long with his preferred tyres for a two stopper? Massa is suspect under pressure and they would have stood a better chance of winning by leaping Massa in teh pits, and if that failed just hussle the Brazilian until the eventual fold. Sure it was gutsy strategy, but bloody stupid. Its like Chinda last year when he stayed out on shot tyres waiting for the weather. Only this time it didnt backfire so badly. :)

Highlight was Glock at the back havinbg a good old time with the Renault

And ITV... Senna esque? Let me be the first in line Adam, there was nothing brilliant about the drive

well apparently the 3 stopper was insisted upon by bridgestone. Maybe lewis would've had a better chancec of winning if they went 2 stopper and bullied massa til the end. He must be SO sick of coming second.

And ITV... Senna esque? Let me be the first in line Adam, there was nothing brilliant about the drive

Yep ditto... Sure he was 'on it' so to speak, but he wasn't wrangling the car for all it was worth.. It wasn't Sennaesque, it wasn't a Hungary 1998 job that's for sure...

This is 'Sennaesque', a man on a strategy switch making it work...

On that note, God I miss Murray... :)

Really cracked the shits when I heard that. I .really don't think that ITV could be any further up Louise's arse, it's rediculous.

Can this kid's head get any fcking bigger..

'My best race yet'..

How many times has he said that now... Fck I'm surprised he can still put on his helmet..

Ha. So why didnt he grab second then i wonder...?

Perhaps because he knows he's leading the championship, and giving away 2 points as opposed to 8 if he tries something with so few laps to go, is not smart :(

Great passing moves by the McLaren drivers: Kova carving up half the field like a gun, and Hami's uber-ballsy pass on Massa right on the limit down to the apex. Gripping.

I don't know if I'd call HK's passing moves anything special personally...The majority of them he was re passed pretty much straight away, and only took the position on the straight due to his far superior straight line acceleration and speed.

And ITV... Senna esque? Let me be the first in line Adam, there was nothing brilliant about the drive

Glad someone said it...I heard the phrase 'Senna esque' mentioned at least 2 times....

And why is it that they had to take precautions with Louise's tires but not HK's? Is it because he locks more wheels than a Victorian parking officer?

Also, Kimi said in the post race interview that his front wing took some minor damage when he and Heikki tagged on the first corner... Could've cost him a tenth or two, without the damage I reckon Kimi would've taken more chances at passing Louise..

I watched 30 laps from the streaming, went to bed then got up at 3:50am and watched another 15 laps then went to work for 2hrs then came home and watched the remaining few laps then went back to work :P

Another race where track position is king.

I scoffed out loud when i heard that myself. Pure JA bullshit///,.,;

I honestly thought LH's drive was the best of the race. He very nearly made it work. Cmon peeps, give credit where credit is due - it was a good drive and it proves, once again, LH knows what hes doing.

KR claiming his car was slow was pretty funny, he set the fastest lap of the race and when pinned on it was like "pfft, yeah well it was still okay considering the end of the wing was damaged."

Not sure if anyone else heard it but Nakajima pwned the shit out of LG when she interviewed him. She was like" So, you werent able to get the front wing fixed to be able to go out again?" and KN was like " Front wing? It wasnt the front wing, it was the rear wing." Pwned, LOL.

Theres a lot of LH haters on here but lets call a spade a spade. MS, for example, was one of the most self righteous guys to ever sit behind the wheel of one of these things and irrespective of the mass of championships he compiled he was still a pretty openly arrogant guy.

You cant survive in F1 without having an over inflated sense of self worth. Youd just fall to the way side.

They say nice guys finish last? Well that certainly applies to the F1 circus.

M3gtr's top 10 conclusions from the The land of goat sphincter rings GP

1. LH knows how to chase, pass and make risky strategies work.

2. KR is the best at making the most awesome understatements.

3. The ITV crew apart from MB and TK need to go.

4. The Istanbul security people need to be shot. How 2 wild dogs got inside the perimeter let alone on the track itself is inexcusable.

5. Turn 8 is the ballsiest corner on the calender spare Eau Rouge. It just needs a ballsier name now.

6. Massa is now a championship contender and KR should be considering him a serious threat.

7. Piquet jr isnt really all hes cracked up to be. Alonso absolutely wiped the floor with him yet again.

8. MW takes naps during every middle stint of a race.

9. Super Aguri have already been forgotten... :)

10. SV is trying to take over MW's mantle as the unluckiest F1 driver in history.

    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
