Its an absolute f**king disgrace.

Massa released from the pitlane in a dangerous manner and not even a second worth of a penalty and Hamilton given 25 seconds for what was a marginal at best indiscretion.

Just one season mate... Cant we have just ONE season without this crap?

That’s two races in a row now with the most horrible stewards calls we’ve seen in a long time

Mclaren lost last season because of this, now it seems like just winning races on merit and generally being better on the day isn’t good enough anymore.

If Massa wins this years title by 4 points or less, ill be done with this sport

Just remember that last year was decided by 1 single solitary point.

This has all gone beyond a joke.

wah wah wah...

"cut him off" lol! Its called "taking your line". Its proper forecful racing - particularly when you're safe in the knowledge the guy behind you needs points and can't afford to crash out with his championship contender right behind him in the points. Lewis barely got a wheel in there - it wasn't his corner. and running people wide on exit is par for the course - you're inside its your line to take.

catching and passing are two very different things mate

Barely got a wheel in there you say?

I think touching the sidepod would count as being well inside. Raikkonen shut the door with Lewis' foot jammed in it. Dirty yes but the fact remains lewis would have had him on the final lap - it was obvious to see which of the two rivers was mastering the conditions. Massa is the luckiest bastard in the pitlane and did not deserve the win in any way shape or form. To rob LH is a travesty and id love to know where they pulled 25 seconds out as a penalty?

Did they just think, " yeah, 25 seconds should do the trick. 10 seconds wont be enough...he'll still be infront of Massa."

The muppets in the stewards box should be shot.

I have no doubt in my mind that was fair racing and will echo its a pathetic thing to even be investigating.

F1 has officially gone to the dogs.

Big difference between taking you line and unnecessarily running somebody off the road. Kimi already had the corner, left no racing room for lewis to continue in so he took avoidable action and chose not to bump a ferrari because we all know the penalty for daring to do that. Here he is doing the right thing and still getting stung.

And I’d say that kimi needed the win more than lewis, he was going to extend his margin over Massa anyway, he did what we all wanted and made it interesting.

with lewis’ proven overtaking skills and obvious wet weather advantage, you can argue there are wildly various degrees in difficulty between the two, especially in this occasion. Kimi was a sitting duck.

Agreed, the attempted pass showed poor judgment, live with it Hamilton :D

Poor judgment?

Youre joking right? So you think the stewards f**k up in stripping LH of the win was...good judgment? Whatever you are smoking, i want some.

You must also think, the FIA showed good judgment in giving Massa a small, pathetic fine when he was released dangerously from the pitbox?

I suppose you think it was good judgment that Raikonnen didnt slow down when he saw the yellow flags of Rosbergs spin and instead sped up nearly taking out all 3 of them in one hit?

Whatever your standards of judgement are, you should never be let loose in a stewards box because i wager you would make the same kind of decision that has essentially f**ked the sport right up, good and proper.

On Lap 42 the cars began to get very twitchy as the lap times started to fall. Hamilton, now, was considerably quicker than Raikkonen's Ferrari and swept past him on the outside going into the Bus Stop chicane. Though the Mclaren was actually in front Raikkonen left no room for Hamilton to turn in without crashing into him and forced Lewis into the run-off tarmac, skipping the chicane.

If you dont believe this, rewind the tape and watch it again.

LOL, has made my day :D I feel he would not have gotten the run on him if he did not cut the chicane. For gods sake how stupid is trying to go around the outside into a tight chicane like that. Lewis sees chicanes as fari game for cutting, he has to because the way he throws the car at the car he is overtaking. As Harry said, Kimi was well entitled to use the line he did, it was wet, in the midst of a brakign duel, what the hell did Lewis think Kimi was going to do. Put a big wall there and Lewis woudl not have tried the move, and he woudl not havebeen on the tail for an overtake.

I think the penalty is a little tough, but i can see he shoud be fined, and the rule changed to when the situation is re-addressed then they cannot attack for a corner or three. Otherwise you seize some ground on teh car in front in the chicane, rattle their tree then after they have pulled in front of you spring a surprise down the inside.

LOL...Hamo will get it back....and lastly, Dennis. In your works, Charlie is anot a steward :/

You mean whats left of the now murdered old bus stop chicane don’t you

Poor thing...

What was LH thinking, naughty boy trying to go around the outside of the champ and *GASP* at a chicane of all places.

The nerve.

LH avoided an avoidable accident. He was infront going into the chicane or didnt anyone else but Hammo haters not see that?

Again, i think the ruling is a bit rude. But Lewis doesnt do himself any favours but throwing himself at cars in front and taking to run off areas to avoid clashes when tryign to go aroudnthe outside. HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER AFTER THE RULIGN EARLIER THIS YEAR. HE WAS FINED FOR THE EXACT SAME THING.....RIGHT OR WRONG HE WAS WARNED AND FINED PREVIOSULY, SO WHAT DID HE THINK HAD CHANGED IN THE LAST 5 MONTHS!.

I love the use of caps lock :D

Hang on.

Lewis did NOT give the position back that time, and was slugged.

This was completely different, Roy.

He lifted, clear and simple, gave the position back - Mac telemitery showed a significant speed difference, he took avoiding action to keep out of an accident when KR moved across, lifted for the yellow when Rosberg spun, was passed under yellows by Raikkonen and KR wasnt even looked at...

What more do you want, ffs!

muhahahaha. it's made my day too, troy. and the best bit is it gave webbo a point! yay. go webber.

I can't believe cuntalinen farked webbers day like that. heiki has the car speed to come back through the field easily, webber does not. so it realyl farked him. webber was on target for 4th, 5th or 6th easily and heiki screwed him badly.

spewing that kimi dropped it at the end. lousie dropped it too, twice in fact but was fortunate enough not to get into a wall in either of those incidents. and this win just saw his large head grow larger.

how about nick the gypsie sneaking his way into 3rd. I'm surprised more of them didn't stop for wets or inters, but I know it was a tough call with 2 laps to go. but you consider 30secs for pit stop, vs 30secs a lap faster for 2 laps is a no brainer to me. it was a wuvewy stwategy nickowaus.

haha, I still can't believe lousie got his win taken off him. there truly is a god! hehe.

It may be the first time a race win has been stripped, but definitely not the first time someone has been passed from cutting a chicane and then let them back passed only to pass them straight away on the next straight. Suzuka 05, Alonso did the same thing to someone, cut the chicane, got in front, then had to give the position back, but then just passed him straight away on the straight again. Then few laps later, was ordered by the stewards to let the other guy past again.

25s is a bit harsh, but I don't think it was a fair pass.

If you honestly think it was good sportsmanship or good judgment that LH has had this happen to him, youve got to have rocks in ur noggin.

Think about the bigger picture here.

Its a f**king travesty.

When was the last time you saw Mclaren being given back something that was rightfully or wrongfully taken away from them?

In my eyes as well as millions of others, LH was the winner of the Belgian 2008 GP.

I dun give a shit what the history books say.

    • Next on the to-do list was an oil and filter change. Nothing exciting to add here except the oil filter is in a really stupid place (facing the engine mount/subframe/steering rack). GReddy do a relocation kit which puts it towards the gearbox, I would have preferred towards the front but there's obviously a lot more stuff there. Something I'll have to look at for the next service perhaps. First time using Valvoline oil, although I can't see it being any different to most other brands Nice... The oil filter location... At least the subframe wont rust any time soon I picked up a genuine fuel filter, this is part of the fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank. Access can be found underneath the rear seat, you'll see this triangular cover Remove the 3x plastic 10mm nuts and lift the cover up, pushing the rubber grommet through The yellow fuel line clips push out in opposite directions, remove these completely. The two moulded fuel lines can now pull upwards to disconnect, along with the wire electrical plug. There's 8x 8mm bolts that secure the black retaining ring. The fuel pump assembly is now ready to lift out. Be mindful of the fuel hose on the side, the hose clamp on mine was catching the hose preventing it from lifting up The fuel pump/filter has an upper and lower section held on by 4 pressure clips. These did take a little bit of force, it sounded like the plastic tabs were going to break but they didn't (don't worry!) The lower section helps mount the fuel pump, there's a circular rubber gasket/grommet/seal thing on the bottom where the sock is. Undo the hose clip on the short fuel hose on the side to disconnect it from the 3 way distribution pipe to be able to lift the upper half away. Don't forget to unplug the fuel pump too! There's a few rubber O rings that will need transferring to the new filter housing, I show these in the video at the bottom of this write up. Reassembly is the reverse Here's a photo of the new filter installed, you'll be able to see where the tabs are more clearing against the yellow OEM plastic Once the assembly is re-installed, I turned the engine over a few times to help build up fuel pressure. I did panic when the car stopped turning over but I could hear the fuel pump making a noise. It eventually started and has been fine since. Found my 'lucky' coin underneath the rear seat too The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLJ65pmQt44&t=6s
    • It was picked up on the MOT/Inspection that the offside front wheel bearing had excessive play along with the ball joint. It made sense to do both sides so I sourced a pair of spare IS200 hubs to do the swap. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of the strip down but here's a quick run down. On the back of the hub is a large circular dust cover, using a flat head screw driver and a mallet I prised it off. Underneath will reveal a 32mm hub nut (impact gun recommended). With the hub nut removed the ABS ring can be removed (I ended up using a magnetic pick up tool to help). Next up is to remove the stub axle, this was a little trickier due to limited tools. I tried a 3 leg puller but the gap between the hub and stub axle wasn't enough for the legs to get in and under. Next option was a lump hammer and someone pulling the stub axle at the same time. After a few heavy hits it released. The lower bearing race had seized itself onto the stub axle, which was fine because I was replacing them anyway. With the upper bearing race removed and the grease cleaned off they looked like this The left one looked pristine inside but gave us the most trouble. The right one had some surface rust but came apart in a single hit, figure that out?! I got a local garage to press the new wheel bearings in, reassemble was the opposite and didn't take long at all. Removing the hub itself was simple. Starting with removing the brake caliper, 2x 14mm bolts for the caliper slider and 2x 19mm? for the carrier > hub bolts. I used a cable tie to secure the caliper to the upper arm so it was out of the way, there's a 10mm bolt securing the ABS sensor on. With the brake disc removed from the hub next are the three castle nuts for the upper and lower ball joints and track rod end. Two of these had their own R clip and one split pin. A few hits with the hammer and they're released (I left the castle nuts on by a couple of turns), the track rod ends gave me the most grief and I may have nipped the boots (oops). Fitting is the reversal and is very quick and easy to do. The lower ball joints are held onto the hub by 2x 17mm bolts. The castle nut did increase in socket size to 22mm from memory (this may vary from supplier) The two front tyres weren't in great condition, so I had those replaced with some budget tyres for the time being. I'll be replacing the wheels and tyres in the future, this was to get me on the road without the worry of the police hassling me.
