m3gtr
I know what you mean by the passes... The move across on Webber was rude but...well...lets not go there. hes not endearing himself to any of you anyway is he? Try to look at the bigger picture if you can. It was a great recovery. Roy
I am not trying to take anything away from his race result, pace wise he drove brilliantly. I think the car again flattered him though. The ease at which he passed peoples revealed just how much more car he had under him. He didnt have to even really fight for the places he gained, he rolled up behind them, and 3-10 corners later he was past. Thats why i am disgusted he was doing the school boy stuff he was. When he got behind Massa he didnt have the car advantage anymore...and guess what, his so called brilliant race craft was where exactly? Like all drivers he is only able to extract from the car what it is willing to give. The other cars started working better and his progress stopped at Massa. Its not like Massa started to drive better then he was earlier in the race. That all said, he is brilliant at getting on with the job, in difficult conditions. Where others need to feel out conditions and find out how mcuh car they have under him he just drives straight up to the limit as though he knows exactly where it is. It was a good recovery drive, but if he had off out foxed Massa then i woudl have openly admitted that he was brilliant rather then the car being brilliant Anyway, my auctions just ended so off to sleep Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/199728-2008-f1-season/page/147/#findComment-4132701 Share on other sites

It didnt and it should have. HK couldnt even make a dent in SV all race where as before his first stop, LH was right on the gearbox of SV. LH maximized the Mac, HK did not and it was written all over his face in the briefings. Thats a different story though. Cmon man, give LH at least a scrap of credit. Those were not the moves of a schoolkid mang. SV "white on rice" Fuji 2007 was a schoolboy move. Grew up fast did that lil weed. m3gtr
KR.... amazing when he wants to be yeah? Raikkonen's lap times were something to behold. Lap 45: Fastest Lap: 1:32.555 Lap 46: Fastest Lap: 1:31.691 Lap 48: Fastest Lap: 1:30.130 Lap 49: Fastest Lap: 1:29.844 Lap 50: Fastest Lap: 1:29.639 Lap 52: Fastest Lap: 1:29.144 Lap 53: Fastest Lap: 1:28.047 ...but he could only close up to P9 by the line. m3gtr
I think this is almost as amazing as SV's win "The last time we had rain at Monza was 1985 and it may be another 23 years till we have as much overtaking incident or as much history made in one weekend." cokey
M3gtr, How can you A) love the sport and B) support Mclaren ????? After last years £100,00000000000 fine for cheating and bringing the sport of F1 into Disrepute ! Which should have resulted in a Team Ban for this whole season !!!! You would think Ron the anti~christ of F1 would at least try to keep "Joe 90" in check ! What I witnessed today made me sick to my stomach ! A twisted egotistical moron hell bent on killing his fellow competitors for a WDC point or so, having failed miserably trying to back up the statements he had made in the press !!!! If I was a steward,,,,, I would be pushing for a life ban from the sport for the dirty little sh+t !!!!!!! He nearly killed Glock on a straight in the most atrocious weather for no reason whatsoever !! And he pushed all the other people he overtook off track. Needlessly ,due to his faster car. At the pinnacle of the sport, there is no place for a flamin mongrel like that !!!!!!! Thank god for a new winner ie VETTEL although you had to ignore the pro hamilton race commentary to find out who actually Won the race. Now there is a talent worth commenting on ! Go the Minardi boys ! Thats where loowheez should have started ! I guarantee he would not have the points total of Nakano should that have been the case. Ban the self centered little prick I say ! And nurture the talent of those that shine in adversity, there is the glory of skill ! Thank god for the new face of F1...... Vettel, and what a gentleman racer ! If only Bentley were still in F1 ? As opposed to Dick dastardly and Muttley.... the burger salesmen. Would you like Relish on that Adam ? :D I look forward to the results of the appeal. ;) Hamo Fail once again, and hopefully for his fellow competitors a lifetime ban ! cheers cokey Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/199728-2008-f1-season/page/147/#findComment-4132791 Share on other sites

hrd-hr30
How good was Vettel? great to see the underdog get up! ToroRosso and customer Ferrari engine killing the works team! hell yeah! Also nice to see Alonso first there to congratulate him after the race taking his record for youngest driver to win a F1 race. Shame about Bordais - he had the pace too. would have been nice to see both Toro Rosso cars up there. Alonso was the quiet achiver of the race. I liked the fact that drivers when they overshot etc gave up postion immediately and went on about racing. I feel if the FIA had not cracked down on Lewis last weekend that todays race would have been screwed by drive throughs for every 2nd competitor. I get the feeling that Lewis is feeling the backlash of other drivers comments through the week, and went about trying to prove that he doesnt care about last weekends decision and that he is still going to be very forceful in overtaking. I think he went too far....but i suspect he was trying to prove a point. Just lucky Glock didnt write off his third Toyota of the year yep. FIA got it right. seemed to me LH was just running everyone off the road because he's still sulking from last weekend where he felt he was run off the road. But there's a BIG difference to holding your line around a corner and just driving into people on straights for the sake of it or to prevent bing passed or just because he's got a bee in his bonnet. He's a danger to everyone out there at the moment. shame he didn'y try that shit on DC, who's shown time and time again he's not adverse to leaving a wheel in there... As for HK, I (and I bet his team) think qualifying in P2 and finishing P2 is much more impressive than underperforming in qualy and continually risking loosing any points he might get in the race with unneccesary rubbish. Its a real shame he didn't take himself out in one of those manouvers. He deserved no less. Still very impressive that this over-hyped guy can manage to take the best car on the grid, qualify 15th, finish 7th, almost cause a few accidents and still have people talking about what a great drive it was??? I must be missing something. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/199728-2008-f1-season/page/147/#findComment-4132835 Share on other sites
NISMO
Awesome drive by SV, and really engoyed watching an F1 race where there was actually racing involved! Seeing the excitement with LH and KR at the back, hopefully they'll soon bring in reverse grids :-) On a side note, do the commentators blow LH before or after the race??? cokey
On a side note, do the commentators blow LH before or after the race??? Before ,during and after by the sound of it ! Never before in the history of F1 has so much airtime been devoted to a driver who failed to make the cut in qually 2. When was the last time they interviewed mr 15th on the grid FFS ? Ignoring the fact that history was being made at the front of the grid ! Youngest winner/Youngest pole/ penalty free... ad infinitum Homo didn't keep his only record very long did he ? Whats up Adam ? Cant see the keyboard for the spray in your mirrors ? Dry your eyes and pitch in Fanboy ! cheers cokey Edited September 15, 2008 by cokey Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/199728-2008-f1-season/page/147/#findComment-4132934 Share on other sites
Beer Baron
Cmon Dezz, LH was making some fully hektic moves man. That first move on Webber was magic.I dont agree with all of his moves but i reckon id be pretty aggressive if i was trying to keep my championship alive hamilton was driving like a carnt with a nice car. he blew past most people like they were standing still, then when anyone tried to pass him he just ran them off the road. webber included. what a cock. webber was a few seconds a lap quicker, lewis went massively defensive, then squeezed him off the track. DOG. finally more people are coming over to my side of the street and realising that all lewis's goody goody talk is just that. talk. he has been a cnt since he first stepped into F1. and now perhaps people will realise that all that crap with alonso may not have been alonso's doing after all... i'm kind of pleased for vettel, but i've still never forgiven him for robbing webber of his best victory chance yet (and again it was half hamiltons doing that crash, and how convenient it took out webber from behind him who was seconds a lap faster....) I don't know what happend to webber in the middle stint? he should have been right up there with heiki looking at 3rd, 4th or 5th but it seems strategy again let him down badly. that is one thing RBR sorely need, some good bloody strategists making some good calls. people crap on about how good hamilton is, but vettel can win in a bloody STR at 21yo. I'd like to see hamilton do that. without his fancy car he'd just be another guy battling for 8th place with webber... Snowman
As a side point the biggest loser from last night was Alonso IMO. Because tell me right now if you were the owner of one of the big teams who'd you rather have come into you team when a spot opens up - Vettel or Alonso..... I think we all jus saw our next Ferrari driver and that whinging pom better hurry up and win a title before he gets there or else he just may miss his chance. I must be missing something. Really good point. The way he was blowing past people down the straights really shows just how much of it was the car. In every other race we hear how the rest of the field are not in the same league as Mclaren and Ferrari, yet when LH smashes these backmarkers, it's all of a sudden a great drive???? C'mon, I'm all for praising a good drive, regardless of the driver, but find it a bit hard to swallow that LH in a Mclaren killing the Toyota's and Honda's was a great drive. Throw him in a Force India car, let him do the same and then I'll be impressed. Vettel winning in a Minardi! Now that's impressive. dezz
I dont think the TR is an "inferior" car as such.Is got the RBR chassis AND the best engine on the grid... Hmmm...maybe Roy has a point. Is RBR really a "step up"? I wonder. Troy didn't say that, I did. I am not trying to take anything away from his race result, pace wise he drove brilliantly. I think the car again flattered him though. The ease at which he passed peoples revealed just how much more car he had under him. Go back and watch the race and tell me how many people he passed at places on the track other than at the end of the main straight due to his far superior straight line speed, or on the long sweeping right handers where his power and speed were again all that was needed to make the 'move'. It was like lapping traffic because essentially thats what it was, due to his poor qualifying performance. Once he got up to a car that wasn't a back marker, he went no where, and instead had an RBR car all over him. As for saying he can just drive at the max straight away, I certainly didn't see that last night. He was nowhere for a lot of it, and only turned it on after quite a while. Shit, even his iTV boyfriends noted that. M3gtr, How can you A) love the sport and B) support Mclaren ????? I've been there all along Baron I think we all jus saw our next Ferrari driver and that whinging pom better hurry up and win a title before he gets there or else he just may miss his chance. Thats exactly what I'm hoping for. Stuff it up again this year, KR to regain composure next year and fight it out with Massa, all while waiting for McLaren to take a bad turn and leave Hamilton struggling in the middle of the pack. Adam, as for your comments about LH being on SV's gearbox, perhaps it had something to do with the fact that SV had already made a pitstop, and was STILL in front.... salad
No one's mentioned Kubica yet, he made up just as many positions as Louise, but passed faster people to end up in 3rd, I'd say that was a better drive really. Had a bit of luck with pit stops, but he didn't drive like a cock and got on the podium to show for it.
