Sweet, sounds like it's working well then. What's type of volume are you usually doing? Sets and reps

I play it by ear, I have a couple of minor/old injuries to look after, so when they start flaring up a little I call it quits regardless just to play it safe. Otherwise, here's an example of bench press:

60kg x 10

80kg x 10

100kg x 9

125kg x 1

117.5kg x 2

105kg x 6

100kg x 7

60kg x ~25

Those Fusbal shoes I got are the bomb, did some cleans and some presses to test them out, I thought the chucks were good but after wearing these I doubt Ill ever use chucks again.

Here's my latest 531 style program, its had a fair deload on it and works antagonist muscle groups, whilst my guts is healing Ive dumped squats for front squats as they don't aggravate my injury, I'm also having a vanity moment and have added BB curls twice a week.

EDIT: I also do alternating 1 arm kettle bell swings to get to the 1 hour mark, sets of 20 a side, fun exercise.

Are you talking about the intra workout?

Yeah that's the one. Taste is alright but it gets a bit grainy towards the end.

I found since ive been on this bcaa i run out of steam during the workout faster

I use it, on the tropical sunrise flavour atm, quite like it.

Which brand were you using previously?

Mitch - I'm going to assume that whatever BCAA product you're using isn't simply *only* a BCAA supp, yeah? I can't see how else there could be any noticeable difference between products with regards to physical effects.

I think I've said it before during my whey rants, but my BCAA supplement is the only thing I'll spend more than necessary on just for flavour etc. Given Bulk Nutrients BCAAs taste like chalk, I'm happy to fork out extra for Nutrabolics Anabolic State. Everyone I know and most of my mate's clients absolutely rave about it too haha...the flavours (well, most of them) are just spot on. I've had watermelon, fruit punch, peach mango, and grape. Of those, I wouldn't buy grape again, but it wasn't a bad taste by any measure.

Would definitely recommend Anabolic State, even though it is a little bit pricey.

I mix the BN BCAA with the powdered poweraid stuff, it tastes good, mixes well, and is 11ty times cheaper than anything else, I don't like to spend money on a name or a flavor.

Plus I'm usually in the zone and the flavor of something is overshadowed by the fact that I'm pacing around getting the anger on for the next set.

Troy is a PT now?

MY MATE'S CLIENTS lol

Good mate of mine started a nutrition coaching company last year. Since then he's taken on a couple of hundred clients, 12,000 page likes on Facebook (I know I know, relevance lol), and has had a shitload of clients place in various comps - like last year's season B Mr Olympia natural (can't recall division) and just this last weekend his competing clients totalled 4x 3rd, 5x 2nd, 11x 1st place, and 2x overall title finishes for the local INBA :)

I get all my nutritional information and knowledge from him. Easily one of, if not THE most knowledgeable person I know in the industry.

I used Dymatize BCAA Recoup Grape flavor.

10/10 for flavor

Well BCAA is meant to help you keep pace through a workout. Notice I said help, not will.

Diet last few weeks have been on point, have measured everything and used my fitness pal to ensure macros and everything was the same.

Only thing that has recently changed is BCAA brand.

Yes they are a mix, with glutamine in it to help with recovery but that is about all that is in either brand. Xtend has electrolytes.

I haven't checked to see how the ratio of either brand of BCAA is compared to one another. Maybe the Dymatize stuff worked better for me in its ratio. The major issue I noticed with Xtend was that it doesnt give a measure on the BCAA's in each scoop. Just says its blend is a 2:1:1 where as Dymatize said it has x amount in each scoop. Which meant I knew that i was getting 20g per serve.

Also due to the mixing and flavor, I'd throw a couple scoops in my big water bottle and drink it all day.

Swap they word "help" for "might", there's allot of good marketing but not allot of evidence that it might help during a workout.

might give the impression of a less fatigued workout by helping to reduce the amount of tryptophan which results in less serotonin being produced in the body.

either way everything has improved as far as diet, sleep, quality of workout is considered. The only change I have made recently is in BCAA and I feel like I am getting tired a little easier during my workout.

I would say that when I first took the other brand BCAA I didn't notice a performance increase at all that I'd consider out of the ordinary.

I find the old "COME ON" and "YEAH" when I'm setting up helps with my motivation on my heavier lifts, one of the boys at work pulls some big numbers and swears by it, also a big hard slap on the middle of the back.

I was a big skeptical but from googling around when you yell prior to or during a big lift it releases some brain juice stuff that helps.

Apparently its used a lot in everything from lifting to fighting, basically an anger or pain thingie that helps get the rage on.

Rage is good, LOL.

As much as I dislike pseudoscience, I do this too. Those exact words in fact. Granted, I have said them and missed lifts too, so doesn't always work but prolly adds a degree of intensity to it.

And it may not be all that pseudosciency; if you look at psychology principles such as classical conditioning, where hearing a familiar sound or sensation incites a response from the body, you can use it to snap yourself out of any lethargy, to get "in the zone" and ready to lift. Which is why so many lifters, amateur and pro, develop pre lift routines or lengthy setup procedures. As someone once said, the fitness industry is a breeding ground for OCD.

^^^ yeah I was gonna say Birds, it ain't entirely psuedoscience :P I mean, sure you could've made the lift without the smack in the head, since your body was entirely capable...however that smack in the head might be what your mind needed to believe it could pull it off :)

Back on BCAAs, yeah that's fair. I personally can't see the (appreciable) science behind 5-10g of amino acids (protein) making any real difference to your ability during a workout, but they will have benefits even beyond what could be placebo. And again, placebo effect has great value in itself, as long as you're not pissing money down the drain for it lol

Anabolic State has glutamine and HICA in it for claimed benefits in recovery, DOMS, etc etc. Though at least on the back this claims come with a disclaimer that there's no scientific studies to PROVE them haha. Oh, and once more, the taste makes it worth it if only for the reason you mentioned - sipping on it through the day :) I do this too, coz I HATE drinking water and never feel the urge to do it until it's too late and I'm already dehydrating myself. Something tasty every now and then makes a big difference.

    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
