SuperSpit - great choice! I should have bought one myself instead of the CLK55 AMG!

I know for a fact that I could drive my GTS4 at least 30 Kph faster comfortably nearly anywhere over the Merc.

Except off the line where it has the low down grunt to spin the wheels and overcome the computer even right through second.

It's funny to screech the wheels accidently (true!) off the line in the city with cops that dont look twice. :D

With AWD and the RB20 I had no chance of doin it but they watch you like a hawk!

The cop aspect is the only upside to replacing the GTS4 with the Merc! 100% rigididge!

my whole street has either a new bmw, mainly X5s or an Audi A6s. - they are all over 50, and 80% who dorve them are women over 50.

So yeah, go get one, you'll be in the club lol

no1 gives a toss expect your mates who drink at X bar who reckon the new menu at Z lounge is better cos of the new fusion feel.

weird.... i didn't know you were ghey...

Lol... no it's just that I need a huge-ass 4WD for the upcoming family and the pets. If I had the money I would get a Landcruiser but seriously 80-90k for the mid-range model is just insane. A Hummer H3 with the same specs basically is about 60k. Nissan Patrol is good for around the same money as well but the turbo diesel engine is an anaemic 118kw for a 2.6 tonne hulk of sheet metal - they gotta be kidding. That shit has worse power-to-weight than a cold war Lada.

if you were to have mansecks with richard symmonds it would be less ghey than owning a hummer....

LOL

Hummers suck, they were a quick design and build up for the US Army. To wide for city streets and not the best at 4x4, also they are not that reliable.

The H1 was designed for the army, but by the time the H3 came around I'm pretty sure they aimed it squarely at the fat american consumer.

I take your point about being unreliable, but there is no alternative for me in the 60k range. The only two other ones as big are the Cruiser (too expensive) and Patrol (too weak).

My dad's looking @ the Hummer H3 as well, drove a family friend's one around once, doesn't seem that bad... acceleration is pretty horrible, but I wasn't expecting much from a chunk of metal.

His buying brand new as well, since my mum can claim tax back from brand new cars only. & like Phatboy said, theres isn't much in the $60k range.

The other alternative his looking at is the Toyota Prado GX or GXL diesel.

EDIT: & my mum is looking at buying a BMW 335 or M3, due to the Asian + doctor thing.

Patrol weak???!!! You must be talking about the 3 litre. Get a nice 2nd hand 4.2lt GU and you're set!! Or get a late model 100 series cruiser. Neither are weak, and compared to the hummer will be more reliable, better off road and mroe comfortable. Sure the 200 series is too expensive and if you are talking about the engine in the patrol being the weak point, pull it out and drop in a 6.2L V8 Turbo Diesel for a tad under 10k

HAHAHAHA!!!! You could put 6 fully shick subby's in da back and 6x9's in da doors, den some shplits in do front men. Go for it bruz!! then dump it on some powder coated inta septaz and fully black out da windoz and stick sum neons under to make it look like itsh flyn men!! Shick!!!! Den goes down ta chapel and rok da viper room!!

Do it Hamish... Just Do IT!!!

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
