Howd the silvia do around the island Bris?

Its probably line ball with my car. I have more top end, but i now understand how you are so quick in your car. The power delivery of these things is such that you just pick up the throttle wherever you want and you get good drive out of corners. My RB20 you have to be picking up the throttle 20mtrs before you want boost

The little S13 was mighty impressive, it was onoly running 1bar and street tyres...and felt damn good. I think you need to get a T518Z for your car and a Power Fc while you are at it. The thing is as responsive as, not sure if it woudl lose much at all over std as i cant recall ever having driven a std turbo S13.

But hard to tell when you are out there by yourself, first few laps it was able to breeze by a good half dozen cars so assume it was in the 1:58-2:02 range?!?!? Either way, its a great drive. The brakes were great, about the best car i have driven with regards to brakes! And the scary thing is the pads he was running are worth more then the caliper and rotor upgrade ! Lucky S13 bastards :D

Lol BB...flamage AND sideways....top shot :D

Is there another photographer that you know of that was there on the day? I had a look thru SDPICS and I couldn't see the one you posted above.

Yeah, apparently this guy was there:

Luke at [email protected] - he sent me 5 other shots that were really good. I'm getting them in hi-res (for a price  )

whats this SDPICS thing? site? link?

hey thats cool, what system/datalogger do you use to get that?

The Performance Box is alway a good option. Seems to be a lot cheaper than anything ellse.

I use the drift box which is the same abart from the ability to measure sidways angle.

Performance Box

thanks adz,

Still a bit out of my pricerange though considering I'm not that into it..

since im such a tightarse.. we tested out RaceChrono (free) @ PI and worked really well. Just need a 5hz GPS and will be even better

Noticed that performance box uses a 10hz gps..thats pretty awesome.

Best thing about the weekend was seeing Jason Bright there helping out the guys in karts and Formula Fords. So worked out to be the perfect opportunity to ask if he could sign his old HRT seat that i have in my car  Champion guy! SO thankful and , of course thanks to Jack for running into town and grabbing me the marker pen :)

yes thank god for that! now you can quit busting my balls about the Glenn Seton seat! a win for everyone.

You'd think so Ant but I reckon sideways + flamage = poo'd ya pants & off the gas

Hahahahaha :teehee:

You are nearly right, I kicked the clutch and struck a pose

You even had your window down...why didn't you stick your arm out drift style?

Hey guys a few quick questions for you guys that know how this event works (ive read the supp regs and just want to confirm some things);

Does the saturday just have numbered groups doing 15min sessions all day?

How does Sunday run? Same as Saturday?

Also is there anywhere good to stay near the track? Ive found a few caravan parks like the one at shepparton but if there's one you guys recommend that would be good

The plan is for the april one

Thanks

anyone know of any pro photographers that were there on the saturday? keen to get some shots of the little silvia. I had a look at sdimages but it seems they only do sunday.

Well done mate your FLYYYYING....

Its gonna get tough now to get that extra second or 2...

You've got a half cage now so no excuse for turn 1, 200+km/h for you!!!!

And flat through hayshed too....

Great result...

Just saw the results....seems they've cleared up a lot of the mis-listing of times that they posted up on Sun but they still list a DNF for me even though I finished every session.....and no 49/50 listed either :) Never mind theres my incentive to pull my thumb outta you know where :(

Will try and get some vids up in the next day or so

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
