Hey guys,

I want to know you're favourite corner/section of track. Whether it be for drift/circuit/drag/rally whatever....i wanna know at which part of the track you sh*t your pants because you just want to stick the corner.

I think personally the best part of track for me is on Mount Panorama.

Going down the mountain, starting at the end of skyline, going down through the esses, through the dipper, around Forest Elbow and then just planting the foot and flying down Conrod Straight.

What are your thoughts?

Nick

Turn 1 at Phillip Island...

200km/h right hander...

Enough said....

Oh, so close to my fav. But a bit further up the road. Coming onto the straight is so much scarier. On the noise in the top of 4th gear doing 180km/h with the car moving around under you as the camber of the corner goes away from you

But every corner of PI is great. You get out shaking like a leaf. By the end of the day you are so exhausted

But for some reason a whole lap of Sandown is so much more rewarding, as they are the type of corners you can attack and really sink your teeth into

lol surely favourite corners in games don't count?

I love turns 3/4/5 at wakefield. get it right and you make up .5-1 sec on the car in front of you.

also like the flip flop at oran park - you are heading over a blind crest, when you get it right its great....when you don't you could end up upside down in the kitty litter next to Ian Luff in one of his customer's volvos.

corner 345 especially 5 at wakie. Last corner before main straight when you ride the curb and u basically drive on 2 wheels.

corner before and after the flip flop at oran park

can't say much about EC since I spent 100% of the time in the rain understeering to my hearts content. But probably corner one.

Flip flop at OP is just too scary to be fun. Im sure if i had done more laps i would be more comfortable. I hear they have taken down the light pole in the stand so you no longer have anything to aim for :) Also, the right handers leading up to and over the bridge is good. Blast, brake, blast, brake then hold the foot as flat as you dare :)

lol, I kinda just thought any corner/section... I've just watched oodles of F1 and other euro touring car races and I just stated my favs...

Obviously the question revolves around 'personal' favourites from 'personal' experience...

Still, Eau Rouge is teh shit..

oran park, shell corner, sliding the tail out until I'm on full lock and just dancing on the throttle to keep it there :)

the next corner is great too, you get halfway into it and the car flicks out really hard on its own and then it's easy to hold it sideways.

good times..

yeah last turn and first turn at PI ... tough to pick which one is scarier.. Even though Turn 1 is faster, i think coming onto the straight scares me more, you gotta plant it before you can see the straight.....

Also the the bend before dandenong corner at sandown is pretty scary...

I found the whole middle section of winton pretty fun

Anyway here's my list;

1. OP Flip flop

2. OP entrance to driftland (so hard to not slide it :D )

3. EC Turn 2 and 3 (fun to get the back out ever so slightly)

4. Middle of winton

5. Last corner of Wakefield

6. Last turn at EC (i love coming out of it looking down the straight knowing you can do whatever speed you like)

7. Kink at Wakefield (coming in too hot and counter steering under brakes is fun)

8. Turn 1 at EC cause that wall "looks" a long way away

at what event did you get to drive this at a "fun" speed?

or are you talking in car footage/PS?

does many other ppl go round barbagello? i have yet to tkae the r32 round but my favourite bit is coming out of the basin up over the hill on the right bend goin onto the tail straight, used to take the ss round and with 450+rwhp it was hard to get the power down in third coming onto the straight was just skid skid skid, the skyline handles so much better although its not as fast in straight line i reckon it get round a couple secs quicker

yep, flip flop and suttons at OP also for me!!

Conrod into the chase at almost flat out at the supersprint at Bathurst is a rush, same with mountain straight hill climb - no room for error, just big concrete barriers!!

EC turn 1 I get a bit scared as I get faster...mind you I havent done it for a while esp with my new suspension set up + semi's!

flip flop for sure.

I had a decent "moment" there on the weekend, getting way to much speed coming in and not realising how fast everything was coming up

Id also say the fish hook at wakefield. Its probably one of the most challenging corners to nail time and time again.

    • So for the wide band is a Bosch 4.9 correct for the Link G4+ along with a Can bus? Just get the Link gear or is generic ok too? Eg here: LINK LINK DIGITAL WIDEBAND CAN MODULE WITH BOSCH 4.9 SENSOR : KYP Performance House
    • Bit difficult to follow. Have a look below and see what the standard R32 layout was like. Note there was a restrictor in place immediately before "turbocharged pressure control solenoid" that, if removed, magically got you 1 bar boost.
    • I might be way off the mark here.. there must be a T junction under the manifold. That takes manifold pressure through a check valve prior to the T, one side splits out to this bleed off orifice, the other straight to the wastegate actuators.
    • Carrying out some engine due diligence before my first drive in a 260RS that has been in storage for 10+ years, and found two lines that are susposed to be plumbed into the boost control solenoid. One of the lines (the wastegate boost supply line) to actuate the gates, had a bolt in one end blocking it. The other line (main boost signal line) from the very rear of the intake manifold (RB26DETT) and runs up to the boost controller had this pill in the end of it as seen in photos. Other than the obvious (T28 Ceramic turbos might well be cooked)  Can anyone shed any light on if there is any validity at all with this mod, bleeding a constant fixed rate of manifold boost pressure off through this 3mm hole?  Is it deliberate?  Was this a 90s Jap mod done to RB26's? Or has someone just fitted this without any idea of what happens to ceramic T28s if they are not gate controlled?
