I saw some pics recently of the Bowden collection., My god, why mess around with replicas when you can just have the original of every car ever raced

bowden is a freak car collector - if i had the pics on this laptop i'd upload them (they're on my home pc)

So true, the 31 sounds absolutely MINT, far, far better than anything else out there, even the Holden Group A cars struggle to match it.

And times, yeah, I actaully dunno what they've donen there recently, and it was another event where Seton was in the 'stang.

 of course I understand why these cars are (or are they?) driven with a little up the sleeve to avoid bending them, didn't stop the Gibson 32 GTR last year from experimenting with a "different line" (lol which obviously didn't exist!) leading up to and under the bridge where it had a good old sniff of the wall......

Much damage? The guards and paint are peobably the easiest things to fix on them provided you dont damage the alloy hubs, magnesium wheel, move the cage etc. Oh god, i would cry if i bent one.

Will be good to get some more cars and names back in the series. I imagine it would be a dream to be a mug punter/owner of one of these cars with a name jumping into another car and racing. Oh man, I need to stumble accross a once in a lifetime lucky investment/invention

You mean this :(

Can't remember what forum i got this from though.

Thats the one ;)

He got both ends of it.

In fact, a couplle of us spent an hour or so finding parts to get the thing looking better for the competition the following day (easily done if ya had a bit of ticker), but we were grunted at for our efforts so quickly lost interest.

And Roy, you just all ya shit you could have two of the fkn things mate. :(

Pretty sure Terry would have been pretty appreciative of your effort's....I know he had mentioned how much help he was getting from people. I also know how pissed off he was with himself that evening at the error.

It's easy to say we'll just bolt on some panels and keep racing and in most categories I totally agree with you.....hell I've even done it myself....but when your punting around motorsport history, $$$$$$$ worth of car, hoping the damage is only superficial and on a track you don't really know you need to way up the decision on wether it's worth it. Just remember we are like most of the rest of the Australian Historic Motorsport.....we don't get paid!

As for keeping some time up our sleeve....shit yeh....I know I do......but I can also hold the times I am doing till the tyres go off(traffic depending).

I guess the scenario just went against my grain. To come all that way and dissappoint so many people by not running due to such relatively minor bruising was sad.

Witness the shitstorm we went through during Superlap with Berry and Newman's cars. Short engine came from Brisbane for one, heli-coiling the head studs on another, all in an effort to have a full grid of cars for ourselves and the punters.

Reasonable write up in the latest Unique Cars, though Bowe holds a grudge don't he! haha

heard about that effort.....was awesome to hear about that sort of backing from friends and other parties!

LOL.....Bowe sure does.....I remember him coming up to Terry and me at Oran Park when I was in the Winfield car and saying I hated this car when I was racing racing against it....all in jest.....sort of....lol!

P.S. I did mention that the R31 in more than likely not going to be at Lakeside now......got motor damage at Morgan Park.

Jetwreck...have you heard any rumblings about a new car and driver

Bowe had his go at Nissan and jumped ship to DJR. He should have stayed put at Nissan ;)

sure have....I've actually heard about two N..........new cars and drivers......but it's all hearsay.....will see next year at PI aye!

P.S. I sometimes wonder who you know Roy and were you get your info! :D

    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
    • Thank you so much for the help
    • Yes it is ATF. I quote @Duncan "it takes a good synthentic auto trans fluid like Castrol Transmax Z" It's not a diff. It's a transfer case. Totally different thing. Yes, fluid will come out the sender hole. No you do not really need to drain it. Just pull the old, quickly poke the new, clean up and top up. But realistically, you should probably take the opportunity to change it anyway.
    • Hey all. I’m looking on replacing my speed sensor on my R33 GTR. Will the center differential need to be drained, and if so, the center diff uses ATF fluid D? I found information on the transmission, front diff and rear diff. Can’t find a for sure answer for the center diff. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
