past the cat it makes no difference, especially at 4 inches!

My exhaust goes from twin 3" into a single 3.5 into a 5" muffler. I ran twi3 3" side pipes at the track and my boost rose to 2.3bar from 1.6 with no other changes. At 450rwkw+ twin 3" is the only way to go. A sinlge 4" flows 12.5% less than a twin 3" but without the associated cost...

For interest sake a 4" has 20% more area/flow than a 3.5"....

Been a few weeks, so time for another update.

Trailered the car from Pauls to Wholesale Suspension in Penrith.

Had to have the front swaybar re-bent to give a good clearance from the sump. Custom mounts and all new bushes were also installed.

I had some adjustable rear camber arms installed to get the camber back to 0 for better traction.

The car was also raised 10mm.

After that the car was trailered to Shauns Custom Alloy. The new intercooler has 3inch ends and im now using a Q45 throttle body so all new cooler pipes had to be made as well as a new intake, which now has the pod mounted through the guard.

A new catch can was also fabricated which now has the breather hidden :ninja:

One small over sight was the stock clutch fan fouling the pulley for the external oil pump. So an alloy radiator and dual 12inch thermo fans will now be used for cooling.

The car was then trailered to JEM where it is now getting the final touches and awaiting dyno time.

Just Engine Management are now agents for Zeitronix. Zeitronix are a US company and are famous for their award winning Wideband/Lamba kits and monitoring gear.

JEM will be fitting a Zeitronix Zt-3 + ZR-1 AFR and Lambda Gauge Display Bundle.

In this kit the Zt-3 Wideband is bundled with the ZR-1 Gauge. The ZR-1 Gauge displays Air/Fuel ratio or Lambda values and has a peak and hold feature. High contrast LEDs are visible even in a direct sunlight.

Includes the Zt-3 Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio Meter, Sensor Harness, Signal Harness, PC Serial Cable and Installation Instructions. Data splitter included for simultaneous display and datalogging use.

Available with or without the wideband oxygen sensor. Made in the USA.

More to come soon.

Exhaust is finished, work of art! I bought 2 cats, one 5inch 400cpi Euro 4 and one 5inch 100cpi.

Still the same clutch but bought an alloy flywheel from the states.

Should have the car home very soon, just some minor things to tidy up.

What brand mufflers are they? Custom? They look to be the buisness either way!

Cheers

Justin

ive always been a fan of the lobster back bends as i appreciate the workmanship involved - nothing beats it!

is there a performance gain from this though as 1 would think that a mendrel bend would flow better as it is a smooth curved edge & there is no weld edge on the inside of the pipe - i guess the difference is within a bees d1ck anyway lol

its done cause its cheap and if you hvae a drop saw if actually quite quick to do. Your correct it does not flow as well as a mandrel bend.... but costs a 1/4 to make.

How come ur running a pod under the gaurd?

Arent u keeping it legal?

It will have an airbox so the pod wont be seen. I can always shorten it if it becomes a problem.

There was nothing cheap about this exhaust unfortunately as it was the first made. The subsequent ones will alot cheaper as the design is already done.

Sorry dave didnt mean to offend, the question was asked why lobster over mandrel bend and i just pointed out why its done, i can imagine the mufflers alone were quite exy.

    • Jax Tyres Smithfeild Ive gone there a few time, well for tyres. on my 3rd visit I spoke to the dude and told how i just got slugged for rotors, brakes ect. His reply was golden; have you read whats on the front of the building. Never forgot it.       before picture, good friend got all these goodies installed.  Well time to study, servicing, maintenance all before this weekend driving lesson.
    • Hello, first of, I’ve looked at many threads on this code but none have helped me, if you know one that will help me feel free to post a link.   Now to my problem. Recently I was driving and noticed the check engine light came on. I went home and did the test to see what code it gave. I got the 21 code but everything seems fine with the car, no misfire, idle is good, acceleration is the same as when I bought it. I mean no signs of obvious failure. If no misfire is happening I can rule out the coil packs right? Which is about 98% of posts saying it is. If anyone has had this happen and found the issues let me know please. No other lights are on.   The car WAS due for an oil change. I since then changed it so idk if that triggers code 21. Either way it hasn’t turned off.
    • Your both right, it may hold a bit longer then.  Soon I need to change the synchros, should I fit the billet plate while I'm at it? Or just a waste of money?
    • Some of the east coast US Stagea got together this past weekend at Lime Rock Park in CT for Grid Life Circuit Legends. This is probably my favorite pic of the shoot with @Morgan.Mundahl on IG. Hope we get more stags out next year! i think I spotted 5 other than my own at the event.
