Sensational drive there Boz!!!

I own a turbo s2k as well and I fully understand how twitchy this high powered, short + narrow wheel base car it can be. After seeing how you steered I realised why I can't drive my s2k as fast as my bnr32.......I need LOTS of lap time with it. Very inspirational drive Boz. If you do come to QLD to teach, please drop me a PM. I will try my best to attend :ermm:

PS I am surpised that Elias has not put a roll cage in that car yet :D Do you know the weight of the car?

lol Elias has thought about it. Because it has never been a specific track car and was/is his daily driver/toy it would probably just make it a little too hard to carry his kids.

I would think it is a fair bit heavier than standard. I am pretty sure a standard car is 1200+kg. Maybe you would know the standard weight.

We shouldn't get carry away with Honda on a forum like this lol

I wont post some rolled s2k pictures to scare you but yes you are right honda claims that the car is something like 1250kg but I think that is a dry weight. Still too heavy for a little thing.

It looks like you had a lot of practice in this s2k. You seem to know exactly how the car behave.

Was there any 180 on the day?

I'm sure they weight a bit the same, a good set up 180 or s15 would still give that Honda a good run for its money.

LOL West, watch the video again :P My car could perhaps even go close to the S2000, only it wouldnt have had Bozman driving it :(

The car use to have a GT35 when it was running straight line stuff. It now runs a GT32 to give it some mid corner speed at the track.

I think a good set up 180 or S15 would give it a run.

Practise lol if you call 4 or 5 laps in the car around Oran, I suppose you can call that practise :P

Holy moly! nice lap mark. that is stupid fast. There is such a big gap from say say 1:20 down to the 1:12s you guys were doing in the 32. Especially considering it's still a road based car. Very impressive especially so when you consider mark has done less than 50 laps of Oran park by my count.

Geeez, the R32 is hauling ass. Well done Mark, great effort in being less than second behind the Lotus.

I must say I'm more impressed with the R35, the times Russ was punching out in standard trim with standard rubber is amazing.

Will the R34 be ready for the next one Russ??? Rumour has it its in 3 months time...

hey guys just thought i would let you know i have posted up a lap of mark running around

what's even more impressive about the 35 times is the speed de-limiter stopped working half way through the day! I think Russ' best time was set with the limiter working. :(

Comparing that to the S2000 vid you can see that with more practice around OP Mark would definitely go faster. Or maybe just let John Boston drive next time... :(

Different cars, different tyres and need to be driven differently. So i dont think you can say Mark is giving away much behind the wheel jsut from looking at that vid

Nice vid Russ and it gets going out of corners well. I can't wait to see in car vid thea the Ignition DVD crew took with in car camera in the boat with Bozman driving, and sure to be handfull and taily compared to Marks drive.

    • Also build this EH ute with 370z motor and gearbox with a couple of turbos just for fun.
    • Got the passenger door on plus the master cylinder and booster. Loaded up to take it home. At home, the colour changes a lot in the light.
    • Nothing cheap, but I have seen the AC Hydraulic DK13HLQ which is pretty close to what you're asking for. The problem is the hydraulic cylinder mandates that the back of the jack be a certain height and Skylines have fairly deep inset floor jack points. A more certain and cheap option is to get some nominal 2x10 inch lumber boards and have one board be 1.5 feet, the other board 3 feet. Glue it all together with lots of clamps to maintain pressure. Make two of these. The ramp suggested above is a good idea, it takes quite a bit of clutch slip to get over each of the boards. I only need the first ~1.5 inches for my low profile jack on a standard ride height car but a lowered car you want to go up to the full ~3-3.5 inches. Paint it or store indoors if you want it to last.
    • Ok. And Nistune? I read (here too) mainly on Stagea threads that it can by "turn off" with Nistune. But they say they still had the sensor plug in. Next week iam going to the Nistune(and other ECUs) tuner so i can finally make it work. I drove the car home and apart from the cut it drove great. No misfire no smoke no hesitation or rough start...so hoping it is this sensor that is missing
    • I just stack 2 pieces of 200x50 timber on top of each other. Total length about 900mm, with the top one being a little shorter and both having a 45° angle cut on them to make the front edge a bit of a ramp. Put these in front of each front wheel, drive up on them, throw the trolley jack under. Takes 1 minute. Scissor jacks can eat a bowl of dicks. I never use on under my car unless desperate.
