I am seeking some help with stripping my skyline as it was written off in a accident a few weeks ago. The front left wheel has been pushed back into the guard/firewall, rendering the car undriveable

If the is anyone around the Kellyville, Castle Hill, Blacktown or Parramatta area who has the equipment and skills to remove the eninge from my car it would be greatly appreciated (either cash or booze or both).

Cheers,

Michael

sure its written off dude? just fixed one a few weeks ago for about 1000 in parts including side clip

No offence mate but i am pretty sure it is.

Any accident is considered written off when you dont have insurance

The insurance company financially wrote the car off.

How about asking someone to repair the wheel :P

The wheels are fine, the car is just undriveable/rollable as the wheel is pushed back into the firewall.

If the wheel is in the firewall I doubt it's an easy fix. Sorry I don't have time atm mate.

Thanks anyway. I'll be wrecking the car and selling it.

This photo may help..

The front left suspension tower has moved back towards the firewall about 5mm. The C Pillar is buckled above the passenger door.

car was insured for $17,000 but it went through here insurance which ment i only got market value for it. I only had 3rd party insurance. Lessons learnt. I also manage to persuade the insurance company it was a r33 gtr because it was 4 wheel drive so i got closer to the insured value.

Cheers for the concern. I walked away from it with a bit of whiplash and some seat belt burn around my waist.

chit thats some bad damage.

what was the quoted maket value of the car?

you can get her insurance pay out. then find out at what auction they will be selling the wreck at and pick the car up for dirt cheap, afterwards parting it out getting back more than what you bought the car from auctions for, then in the end send it to sims metal.

for the record insurance companies arnt that gullable. they will go by the name make and model of the vehicle when making the insurance payment to you. a gtst 4 and a gtr are 2 totally different cars.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
