Another bit of FYI on rear R32 GTR calipers.

Tried the rears on last night and although the rotor fitted the caliper has totally a different mount....bit of shame as it looked to be an easy and cheap upgrade.

bit more of an update....forgot to add this....you will need to machine off about 2mm of the hub.....don't worry it does not affect anything.....but if you don't do it it will rub against the rotor.

The front Brembos off 350Z, V35 Skylines will fit without any mods at all. I trial fitted them when I took off my Brembos from the Zed.

The rears im not sure 100% but my guess is that it's possible.

For a good used complete set of Brembos, you're looking at about $2500-2800 including calipers, rotors and pads. Im considering upgrading the brakes next.

Did you ever confirm that the 350z rear brakes fitted the M35?

This is on my list of upgrades once I start working on the driveline.

The Banjo bolt that you linished 1mm from to fit the brake line...did you do that so it seats inside the caliper and seals? Or could I just use a couple of extra copper washers to space it out?

Fit the rotors up....you will see where it hits......thats the area you need to remove. As far as the calliper goes I wouldn't use extra washers.....if you look inside the calliper where the banjo goes in there's a small restrictor.....you should be able to remove it by screwing a self tappers into it and pulling it out.

Thanks for the quick reply Craig! Whats the go with the restrictor in the stock calipers do I use that with the R33 calipers? Or do you mean remove the restrictor from the R32/R33 Calipers?..so the Banjo seats correctly? Am I on the right track?

Yes, remove the restrictor in the R32/R33 calipers so that you can screw the standard M35 banjo straight in.

When you look into the point where the banjo screws in you will see the reducer just sitting in there. Comes out the the described method.

Otherwise you need to cut off the end of your banjo that has a restricting end.

So no need to linish 1mm off the Banjo bolt if I get the restrictor out?

I do not know the size of the rotor but they are the same as the V35. The part numbers are the same. The brake pads are also the same as the V35/G35. (confirmed this with Ben).

I am looking at getting some Hawk brake pads from the US for front and rear. Just waiting to confirm the cost of rear pads.

not sure what you mean by DB code? The Hawk brake code is HB30F.559 (rear)

It is unlikely you would need to replace the pads on the service brake. They can be tightened up with the wheel removed. There are instruction on how to do this in the G35 service manual.

I have R32 GTR disks and they foul on the hub arm. I would expect the R33 GTST 30mm will be ok. 32gtr is 32mm

I have the R32 GTR rotors on my M35 and they fit perfectly.

I had to remove a small raised section on the lower side of the hub arm, about 2mm thick and the size of a regular dice.

Yep, looks the same here. I'm going to finish mine off tomorrow...wooho!

Ok my supposed R33 Calipers turned out to be 300zx items suited to 280mm disc's so a real pain in the butt as I now have to get a refund and source some more. They were the finned type and the legs on the calipers were considerably shorted...my guess about 16mm 296-280.

Are the legs on the R33 GTST calipers definately the same lenth as 32 gtr?

    • Yeh I think i'll message an old contact i had for ages that manages his own tyre shop now.. n tell him what i want n work with him before ordering..  Got this 17x9 +30 Driftteks on 245/45/17 PSR Drag Radials on the rear.. They fit well - for your reference in future - Rear guards  have been lipped in & minimal to non flaring of the rear Gaurds.    
    • If only it were that easy! I also needed to remove seats, shocks, brake calipers, send my car through a fence, and use measuring and ended up guessing because I didn't remove seats, shocks and brake calipers. It can be hard sometimes Can be a little more complex than 'just measure' if you want to truly measure the entire wheel through all of it's suspension travel. But if you aren't going for every last mm then yeah, you can check the space you currently have and guesstimate.
    • If you own a car, and it has wheels on it, and you know the offset of those wheels, and you have a measuring device, you have everything you need to work out if other wheels will fit.
    • Will this fit? but they are staggered set - RAYS 57DR SEMI GLOSS BLACK 18x8.5 +37 | 18x9.5 +38 5-114.3 STAGGERED SET   or If no go could just get a set 4's wheels of 18x8.5 +37 5-114.3 - would i run 8.5's 235s up front n 245's at the back if I do?   Thanks.        
    • Put a clamp on your return line. I have a feeling it's sucking air, and introducing bubbles to your fuel. With a lot of fuel, less problematic. I'd honestly be redoing all the lines in the tank and clamps on everything.   Also, you've given two different answers to the same question: Asked if being followed by the police you could get down to use the whole tank, you said yes you could, so long as you keep off boost. However, you then followed this up that free revving, it would also cause the issues. I'm doubting free revving is enough to make any noticeable boost on what is likely a decent sized turbo.   So now I have to ask, can you actually drive it lightly and use all the fuel, or does it break up even free revving? Also, have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it? Can you hear the pump change noise at all when you're having this issue?
