ive driven a few vl turbos with gra and yet some have twin throttles, others dont , latest one i drove was 381kw atw and thier was no lag you speak of depends on the tuner,

cheers.

the tuners have been thier recomended specialist here in melb....

im a fan of gas research... im running it on my daily atm. 253 V8 ute. Twin throttle....

I love it when u open up both throttle bodies!!

and hear the roar of twin exhaust out the side going!!

haha...

Fun to drive around and not so bad on the pocket!!

the octane has dropped a bit over the years but its still 100-105 im sure, so mines tuned hard for ultimate 98 soo its not that far off on the lpg.

the problem with high HP and LPG is that you struggle to flow the gas out of the tank unless you run no gas lock offs or modified 1's both of whichis highly illeagle and bad when you catch fire

I have a mate that works in the Gas industry.. He swares the injectors are the way of the future. That said, he has only fitted a few because of their price! Has was also concerned about getting good HP for good $$$.

I have another idea, what does the whole kit weigh? tanks and converters and crap?

sure it may be cheaper to run, but unless it is a very well implimented system, you are gonna battle with it, and then resale?

worth the savings?

Butchered car otherwise..

I personally cant believe the number of stupid comments inn this thread. Gas research was fine in the 90's as that was all that was available, and it was being fitted to carby cars. Its like saying you could make more power on a gts-t by running a blow through holley, and a dissy, might be true, but the loss of drivability would easily offset the power.

LPG injection has come a long way in the past few years, and the price has dropped significantly. There are a few good systems coming out now, which mean you can have the best of both worlds. Maybe not suited to 800hp gtr's, but 400hp gtst's and stagea's are now becoming a practical cheap means of a daily driver.

like im sure many of us i drive my gtr to work for a bit of fun but with petrol its getting outs control lol

anyone thought of putting lpg on thier gtr?

i think gas research would be the only way to go due to the injection not beeing able to keep up with the power of gtrs.

previously i converted a 180sx with a ca18det (4 yrs ago ) and it produced 220kw atw, on gas research,

any thoughts?

how bout water???

Which shops developed these VL Turbo Commodores that you're referring to?

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
