I was thinking we could do something on the Saturday afternoon - 4pm onwards as that is the better time in regards to light levels,

We can do outside Kevin Rudd's workplace or this other place that i've found on google maps here

Your call guys.:(

Sounds like a great idea, I think we should definitely organise it.

I know that, ie the top is one layer, as is the bottom or they are both the same layer, and overlayed on each photo, even so I'm just saying they are good subject matter and good pics, so are yours.

I'm not trying to pick on Mark's banners, they are quite good... What I'm saying is that the banner needs to be simple and striking. If there is too much going on it wont draw the spectators eye.

i reckon get rid of a pic of a car and just have a big banner wiht skylines act or something

i have a feeling if everyone is at a car show, and theres a bunch of the same cars, people will know we are a car club. problem is with a picture of a cartin car, u exclude others and i dont reckon it's diverse enough. by doing a artsy banner, with jsut text, i think that will grab peoples attention as it will be simple yet striking, then you can let the cars talk for themselves !!!!!

but thats what i think, and i haven't put any money in or anything so feel free to ignore what i think :(

You can get some nice shots there at night. see thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ph...html&st=200

If we wanted a banner that didnt have a car picture in it but still represented the club and location, we could have something like this... (see attachment).

Why cant I link pictures from my Photobucket account? - Every time I try I get the message "Sorry, dynamic pages in the tags are not allowed...

I like the idea of getting Parl House in the shot more than Telstra Tower and if you travel to Auto Salon etc there is nooo mistaking where you're from. I had no idea what Telstra Tower was before I moved here.

i know it's a commodore, but what about here as a location, or even without a car n just add in some text ????

ive got the day of tomoz so ill be out and about tonight getting some shots so ill add em in tomoz with some text etc...

but yeah, , location? (sorry for the commo haha )

edit, did a quick edit with some text....ill try get a similar photo tonight and do a good copy, basically no car, none of the carpark, so ill try get in a bit closer to the water, and ill broaden out the image a bit, tone done the brightness so theres more detail. im thinking if u were going to do an image like this though, you would want a car if it isn't only going to be text.

btw mick, my photobucket works, so yeah???

and yes...im bored haha

Edited by Gus-

maybe haha, at the moment he's the only mate who bothers to come out on photoshoots with me, other than that it's all landscape stuff.

it's actually a pretty nice example of a calais, super six....still no skyline though.

i duno haha im bored so thought id throw in some more examples of something for the banner

Not really.

But sice we're in the banner thread, you could use a sexy car like this!!

and that's exactly the time of day I want to use that location for.

Also i'd be bringing my big bag of tricks with me so I can do shots similar to this....

(obviously I won't be getting the whole car in the shot)

correct me if I'm wrong but that 1st pic (the 32) was probably taken very late at night or very early, theres a restaurant nearby, so can't get there as soon as it gets dark. Something to keep in mind.

ahh, you dont need to go near the resturant to get into the tunnel, u enter up the other end not the lake side end. meaning none of the public servents / politicians will need to worry about they're lovely dinner being ruined.

i reckon the tunnell is a bit over done though....if we are game we could try for the museum...me and some mates got up there once real close to the doors for about 45 mins before any security turn up...weren't happy bout it though

    • This is how I last did this when I had a master cylinder fail and introduce air. Bleed before first stage, go oh shit through first stage, bleed at end of first stage, go oh shit through second stage, bleed at end of second stage, go oh shit through third stage, bleed at end of third stage, go oh shit through fourth stage, bleed at lunch, go oh shit through fifth stage, bleed at end of fifth stage, go oh shit through sixth stage....you get the idea. It did come good in the end. My Topdon scan tool can bleed the HY51 and V37, but it doesn't have a consult connector and I don't have an R34 to check that on. I think finding a tool in an Australian workshop other than Nissan that can bleed an R34 will be like rocking horse poo. No way will a generic ODB tool do it.
    • Hmm. Perhaps not the same engineers. The OE Nissan engineers did not forsee a future with spacers pushing the tie rod force application further away from the steering arm and creating that torque. The failures are happening since the advent of those things, and some 30 years after they designed the uprights. So latent casting deficiencies, 30+ yrs of wear and tear, + unexpected usage could quite easily = unforeseen failure. Meanwhile, the engineers who are designing the billet CNC or fabricated uprights are also designing, for the same parts makers, the correction tie rod ends. And they are designing and building these with motorsport (or, at the very least, the meth addled antics of drifters) in mind. So I would hope (in fact, I would expect) that their design work included the offset of that steering force. Doesn't mean that it is not totally valid to ask the question of them, before committing $$.
    • The downside of this is when you try to track the car, as soon as you hit ABS you get introduced to a unbled system. I want to avoid this. I do not want to bleed/flush/jack up the car twice just to bleed the f**kin car.
    • But again, the engineers said your cast aluminium would be fine based on the load that would be stretching that section. Same load stretching the bolts in a flex (not the twist), with a much smaller cross sectional area than the original part you've broken. It's why you'd need to be using higher strength bolts, but that's just making up for the strength you lose with less area...
    • I am truly amazed someone on this planet was able to cycle the pump using a scan tool. I've always ghetto cycled them on Nissan 90s shit boxes by slamming the brakes and pulling the handbrake to agitate the rear wheels enough to cause a speed difference
