I just bought an R33 GTR V Spec that just got imported from Japan and i'm wanting to do an oil change but was unsure what synthetic oil to use.

Have been looking at using Nulon hi tech fast flowing synthetic 10w 40 on the advise of a mate but just wanted confirmation.

Nulon 10w40 is a decent oil but way over-priced for a semi-synthetic. Spend the extra 10-15 and go with motul 8100 xcess, or whatever the new one is, or royal purple fully synth for the same price (if you can find it).

Nulon 10w40 "high tech whatever" shit states on the back that it's 100% synth, not "fully synth"

that being said, the waxes and shit in there are classed as synthetic, so it may be one of the 100% but actually 75% synthetics. Either way, I'm running it and there's been no issues, I'm yet to see how it comes out though.

Haven't personally but all my workshop customers love it, they use it in every car they can. Should go well in your car, do let us know :)

thats good to hear, $32 and in stock at autobarn :)

will be going in tmrw

Nice to hear, give us a report in 5000km :)

It should run much thesame as Sougi, it's all the same viscosities and some of the additives...plus some that Sougi didn't have.

Sougi is very deceptive, it looks like regular $5 XMP (XTR whatever) shite. I've been running Sougi S6000 full synth in my GTR for acouple weeks and for all intents and purposes it feels like just like my old oil (Motul X-Cess 5w-40) but interested to see the condition of the oil is (compared to the Motul changes) when it comes to changing the oil.

gw oil lol we sell that at Woolworths. I thought its some cheap shit stuff.

Going Motul 300v for my next oil change. Been on Royal Purple for too long, want something new!

lol yes and quite rightly...I'll never forgive GW for doing that to the brand. That Woolworths spec oil is good at what it does, i.e keep old pieces of shite running into the ground, obviously a different drop of oil to the more expensive GW oils :)

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.
    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
