I had a twin tank setup in my hiace installed. Used ex optus/telstra tanks, as they are removed when the vans are sold. worked out really cheap for the tanks and brackets, which still had 6 years left on the stamp. I would say there is a good chance they would fit under the 32 with the spare removed, and they hold 130litres, enough for 700km in the old van. If your in sydneym try talking to broady automotive about the tanks, as they have heaps of them, just dont bother trying to get them to hit the setup, there not really interested in anything hiperformance.

By the way, does everybody know there is currently a $2000 grant for anybody who fits an LPG system? You have to pay the cost of the conversion up front (regardless of whether you go straight gas, or duel fuel) but you then receive the $2000 refund. You may end up being out of pocket only $500.

Add that to saving of $1/litre and it starts to look pretty damn attractive, eh?

your kidding your self if you think it will end up costing $500. maybe if it was a falcon cos they make a standard bolt in kit. you dont end up with much change from 5k atlease here in perth we get 3k back from the government. but i reckon my setup has paid for it self.

Depends on who is doing the work. Kit cost me $1600. Tank would have been about $500 and brackets $100, but with the dual tanks it will be more. Of course I'm doing all the work except for the final LPG connections which have to be done by a licenced installer. So yep, it should cost me around $500

Adriano, have you got a contact for Broady. This sounds perfect, exactly what I'm after! Did you get brackets with them?

Ouch! Five grand is a bit painful...

However, it's definitely $2500 for us. I checked just a couple of weeks ago (and that's for the straight gas, hi-performance kits). Your standard 'duel-fuel' setups cost even less...

The grant is ONLY possible if installed by an accredited installer, so if you aren't one, you wont be getting the $2000.

And ring around for prices of installation these days, 3k is not uncommon as its only costing you 1k and the installers know this in the current climate.

I reckon they might charge a lot more than $500 for the connection etc?

i look forward to seeing the results as i plan to undertake the same project but on a RB25DET in a GQ Patrol LOL.

oh by the way how did you go about purchasing this kit? if you could pm me id greatly apreciate it.

run the car on deticated lpg and just have a realy small fuel tank with pump and pressure reg just for a nitrous system. (just an idea) i wonder how some gas on gas action would go

Ive spoken to my local lpg guy who has had alot to do with hi-po lpg setups he says $5000 is not uncommon these days there are a number of different ways you can do it one suggestion he made was str8 gas with the original injectors still in place firing water or methanol and having dedicated gas injectors as well. He also says the biggest prob is getting the tanks to flow enough but you can get around that if the car is already registered you can use an old style tank wihtout the lock off valve but come resale time or roadworthy inspections you would have to change tanks. :) He says support for 300kw is easily acheivable obviously dependent on your engine however to do this upgraded ignition system is needed and full aftermarket computer such as power fc and/or microtech.

For those in victoria id recommend this guy he has done alot of work in the hotrod scene with some of my dads mates getting big numbers with supercharged v8 systems. Give him a call he is always willing to give valuable info the workshop also has dyno services so can be tuned onsite as well. Daylesford is located about 1hr 20min from melbourne up the ballarat hwy.

WRRR, checked out the links and the tanks look great, but i don't even want to think what they cost. Must be a bundle. As soon as i saw pictures of their products for the space shuttle, I knew the cost would be astronomical. neat that they are made of aluminium.

Guys, I don't want to get into an argument over what it will cost etc. I got a great price on my stuff and doing whatever work I can legally do and still get the rebate. It costs whatever you have to pay for it. I'm just telling you what it cost me.

Ok, here are some pics from the race car with the spare taken out. Still a little hard to judge fro the pics, but you can see there is ample space.

Actual space available with exhaust and exhaust guard is 1000mm W x 600mm D x 350mm H (at mid point).

Because of the slope from the wheels to the bumper, which is the invisible line that the tanks should stay inside of, you do get more Height closer to the wheels, so you could put a bigger tank close to the diff and a smaller tank towards the bumper.

Why dont you remove the fuel tank, make a custom tank which mounts in the spare tyre well in the boot. And replace the tank under the car with the gas tank.

Then you've got everything you want. Plenty of fuel to start the gtr should hold about 45 litres (I made a sub enclosure and measured it with Litres, its 48 from memory, you may have less because it would have to be less for fabrication)

Removing the spare tyre hole would make it illegal, surely it is a important part if you get rear ended, how often do you see them bent? Id say only when they are wrapped around a pole... If you had no tyre well the pole would be where the gear stick is and glass would replace your neck hair.

I have a LPG manifold tank (3 smaller tanks all connected up) mounted under my Stagea in place of the petrol tank with a SLR5000 drop tank style covering the tank for aesthetics.....

Not too low with 59 litres LPG useable....get about 320 kms city and 400kms highway to a tank.

Mine is dedicated LPG and I try to run 100% Propane "Premuim LPG" (105-110+ RON) in it as it is available from the bowser here in VIC....runs awesome once properly tuned.

I've checked out the tanks, and there's no need for twin tanks. With the main tank removed, I can fit a 80 or 90L tank, which has a 64 -72 L usable. This is acceptable as it will give nearly the same range as the original tank. There should still be plenty of room for a 10L fuel tank in the rear right hand side.

I may not need to cut the spare out completely, but it will probably need some modification to fit. Probably need to cut a little out of the front of it, but may just squeak by with some manual manipulation (read 'big club hammer')!

    • Apologies for the long post, but needed somewhere to lay out the entire timeline of events and actions taken:   I've got an 89 GTR with a R34 RB in it. It's been running great all year, driven probably 500KM in the last month. It's not my daily driver, just a weekend fun car.    Build info: R34 RB26 - HKS 2.7 stroker kit, HKS adjustable cam gears, HKS turbo upgrades, Trust intercooler, R34 factory DENSO 440cc injectors, JUN chipped/tuned R32 ECU. All of this work was performed in Japan back in 2019.    Thursday 10/2/25 - It's a nice day and decided I'll drive it to work, I start it up in the garage and I notice it took a few extra cranks and sounded a bit funny. I figure maybe it was just because it was a pretty chilly morning. I pull it out into the driveway to warm up a bit before leaving. As I leave the driveway, it feels very off and sounds like a misfire. I pull it back in the garage to deal with after work and take the daily to work. I was able to diagnose it as a cylinder 5 misfire with the old spark plug test (unplugging each plug until a sound change with the engine running). I take off the whole ignition system, ignitor, plugs, spark. *Important note, it is still on the R32 ignition system with the separate ignitor system. I test each system with a multi-meter and nothing presents as a smoking gun. I put it all back together and it starts up no issue. I go ahead and order the PRP R35 ignition conversion kit. It should arrive today (10/13/25)   Friday 10/3/25 - Another nice day, car starts up great and drives great all day. Very pleased that everything seems to be OK   Sunday 10/5/25 - Decided I'll take it to play some golf, load up and drive to the course about 25 minutes away. Drives wonderful the whole way there, I pull in the parking lot and the engine completely comes to a stop. I do not recall if it sputtered at all, but just remember all of the sudden the engine was off. I roll it into a parking spot, try to crank it back on and nothing.  It'll crank and crank and not even try to start. End up getting it towed back to my house and push it up into the garage.    Items I have checked: Fuel in the tank Fuel Pump relay Fuel pump fuse  Spark Plugs & gap Coil packs Ignitor    I know the cylinders are getting fuel as the plugs smell like fuel after a start attempt. I tried spraying starter fluid into the manifold and cranking and not even a sputter.    I decided to do the live CAS test (removing the the CAS, ignition on and spinning the CAS stalk to see if the injectors pulse and spark is active). All of the injectors were pulsing and I have spark at the plug. The half-moon end of the CAS did seem very loose, I'm not sure how much play is supposed to be there, but it was more than I expected. There was no in/out play of the shaft, just the tip end that is pinned on had quite a bit of play.    CAS Play video   When I put the CAS back in, I stupidly did not re-time the engine. I know I need to do that tonight, however, I do not think it will start given it seemingly was not the issue. My plan is to do the PRP R35 coil kit and retime the engine at the same time.    I plan on ordering the Haltech Nexus Plug-in ECU once they are available again, but ideally would like to get this sorted before firing the parts cannon at it and potentially adding more variables.    Anything glaring that I am missing here, I'm a bit at a loss?          
    • Get it on a dyno. Get something logging Consult. Run it up and find out what is causing it.
    • Looking for a plenum for rb25 de+t neo  Not looking to push much power maybe 300kw at the wheels, is there much difference in flow for Freddy “Greddy style” compared to original Greddy or options like Proflow or Otaku garage?    I won’t be porting the de Neo head for now as I think it’ll be fine 280-300rwkw but appreciate the help and any experiences anyone has between them and any advice. Thanks  Looking at this plenum for now below 
    • engine wise almost no mods: stock ecu Greddy front mount intercooler Greddy forward facing intake w R33 TB stock fuel system, stock injectors, rail etc. Kakimoto racing hyper 3 inch exhaust system Apexi intake filter New NGK –R BCPRES (.8 gap) plugs
