My 2 cents on the thread topic..

GTR > GTS-T (and no before you think, this is not a biased comment it is a factual one).

I owned a R32 GTS-T way back when I was 20. It was my first "performance" car and I loved it.

But after having owned now two GTR's they just do not compare at all. They make look (exterior-wise) very similar, but thats where similarities end..........

On the track there are some GTSTs that can keep up with the GTRs. However, ask those GTST owners how much they spent on their car before they can catch up with the GTRs.

It really depends on how much money you can input into your car. Whoever has the 'dough' wins the race.

How bout the upkeep on a gtr? Ive read in magazine's they are very expensive to keep and to look after? also if your motor go's your lookin at a 10,000 rebuild ofcourse with forgies! but do you need money even just to own one without modification?

GTR's do have the potential to cost $$$ if something major goes wrong. But so does other high performance cars.

The RB26 motor is not made out of paper. It is one of then most well built motors that ever came out of Japan. If you buy one that has been looked after and then you look after it yourself (i.e. don't thrash it), servicing is quite resonable (on par with servicing a V8).

Any perfomance car is going to cost you more $$$ to own/service than a non performance car.

But back to your topic...

If you are asking whether a stock GTR has a huge difference in performance compared to a GTS-T then yes, it does.

You can't compare them fairly if lots of dollars has been poured into a GTS-T and then no dollars into a GTR.

Edited by im late

its exactly the reason why i'm really trying to stop modding my GTT...i dont wanna spend anymore than i have to coz i know one day i'l want a GTR...but then the GTR is so much more expensive to modify depending on how far you're willing to go... :(

blah blah blah.. sheesh, you wanna go drifting in a gtr pull the damn fuse. sheesh. same goes for a gts4, get one of those and a rb30 block for your 25 head you are on your way to caining the arse off alot of gtrs.

if so in a drag the gtr would have a better start but how bout the finish would the rearwheel be anybetter than the 4wd system?

I just read alot of junk mags and in one they said a rwdrive is superior at the high speed compared to the 4wd?

Let us know your thoughts

^^ lol

Well the GTR's 4wd system isn't constant so if it's not spinning the back tyres then it's not splitting torque to the front wheels (although there is about 5%ish split to the front in 33s and 34s).

as bubba said, that 5% is bugger all when the rears arnt breaking traction, so id say the only advantage the gtst would have over the gtr is the fact it isnt carrying a front diff, center diff and its associated driveline components, however in saying that the gtr has the advantage of extra capacity, and more advanced engine work over the gtst, i would say better tuned ecu but for penny's these days you can have that changed in hours.

ok if you want a car that goes fast its a gtr, one thing i have learnt is it costs to much to make a pile of s**t fast and reliable just start of with a fast car and go from there, if you want a show pony get a gtst but neva try putting it up agains a gtr because it will lose even if you do beat it have a look in ya wallet and i bet you have lost. so if you want to do it do it right the first time spent the extra and get a gtr.

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
