Good luck Liam! Hope you have a bit of fun and make some good times

Thanks Kel! I'll post up some video if all goes wel

Oh awesome...Will come and say Hi :3some:

I so cant wait...need my rally fix!! Rally School just isn't enough!!:laugh:

Sounds like it will be an interesting experience for the both of us!

Maybe Jeff :(

Update your sig mate, I see you've entered old faithful ;) Unless of course you're going to *BAM!* suprise everyone at the last minute and unveil your 35 all caged up :worship:

no it's the 34 again

just can't bring myself to stuff up such a nice "road car" with a cage

I didn't know anyone read sigs!

Alright, we're 3 days out from Lake Mountain and there's no talk...

We've had the car re-tuned, had the suspension tickled with and have a new set of Yokohama shoes.

Looking forward to the weekend and the weather looks ok...24ish on Sat and 20 with poss showers on Sunday. Adam is looking forward to running in the wet...not sure if thats good, or bad

oh well i decided not to run rookie, as i didn't have the monies to do it, and no incentive after the possable free entry to Targa was taken away.

just have to join the local circuit series 3 rounds in, and get the car setup for next year. Which i'm guessing will be a 6 day event for the 20th aniversary.

Im sure your all up on it, but this is what i think of when the name Adam Newton and wet are added together.

Its amazing how much that car has changed, they day after that footage I won a comp to go for an extreme ride with him arround symmons plains, and then only a hand full of laps later he ripped the rear quarter off it on the pit exit armco!

So we had an interesting weekend.

Seems the dreaded cold tyres/turn 1 curse was out and about over the weekend.

We started off with an uneventful 4:45 and spent the rest of the weekend trying to match and better that time. Stage 2 saw us massively sideways, rear end in a ditch, rear bumper torn off and right rear alignment shot to pieces...all on turn 1. Despite this we still managed a sub 5 min stage time and all we lost was the rear bumper and a little shine off the car! A spin at turn 3 later on in the day saw a 4:57 before the rally gods allowed some form of speed and we finished Saturday off with a 4:43 on Stage 6.

Adam took the car back to Techsport for a rear alignment that evening while i found some accomodation and the biggest parma i have ever seen.

Sunday saw a much more consistent effort with the only thing effecting our times a damaged Porsche(with oil everywhere) and a little bit of drizzle that we backed off for to ensure a finish.

The final stage 10 started off well and only got better as we blitzed the 9.3kms, smashing our previos best by 5 seconds to end the weekend with a 4:37.7. Good enough to be the 4th quickest on that stage.

Results saw us 6th outright, with a 1st in class, a great lead-in to Targa Rookie in a month.

Was fantastic to catch up with everyone and Jess, Burgo's R looks a heap of fun :-)

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
