i saw 2 of them at muscle car masters a few weekends ago... all i can say is damn.

there available thru a company in syd for $170k plus onroads from memory... one of them was there as an add, the other one i think was haltechs? someone like that anyway.

ill put some pics up if i get the time

D.

I was driving my Line today and spotted the same R35 GTR in Braddon.

It simply looks amazing seeing it for real :P

It was parked on the side of the road. I was going back to take another look. By the time I could turn around it drove off and was no where to be found.

The sound of it is just...amazing.

This makes me want one even more now.

I have an idea who might own it, forget his name but one of his mates (who was driving his R34 GTR) came to get fuel from me said he actually had his R35 GTR in Australia complied and ready to be pitted for rego 3 months ago, but Nissan made him promise not to drive it publicly on the road until the R35s were offically allowed into Australia for road use. Could be him but then again I saw a pretty hot Ferrari F430 driving around Kingston looking for a park the other day so it wouldnt take much to get one of those complied personally (you can write in and get permission to have a single car complied personally with governments permission) with the right donations.

Um... ok. I can quite confidently tell you his 'mate' is full of crap.

The car was brought in and complied by IMG in Sydney, the only company currently that can do so. There was no 'special one off treatment' (read: bribing) with the Government, it followed all the same procedures and rules that everyone else has to. The whole 'Nissan made him promise not to drive it' is a laugh as well. The car may have been in the country for several months, but compliance was only approved for the first lot of cars a few weeks ago - this would be the reason it hasnt been driven in 3 months, because you legally cant.

Also not sure what the F430 has to do with importing... you can buy them brand new from a Ferrari dealer...

I did say has an idea, not that i definetly knew who owned it. But like you said 'compliance was only approved for the first lot of cars a few weeks ago' but for that to happen they need to bring in a R35, do significant testing to prove it complies to ADR then have that complied and I.D plated and apply for permission to comply a certain amount of the same vehicle. I'm not arguing that the guy might be not be full of crap, just seeing his R34 GTR Nur Spec 2 id think being a Skyline driver he wouldnt as it wouldnt amount to anything, I'm just saying having one vehicle complied is alot different then having serveral of the same vehicle complied so it isnt impossible to have one complied provided you have enough money to do all the testing (which is where the F430 fitted in).

The owner of the car is Peter Leehmuis his is a good family friend.

He is bringing the car to the shop in a week or so to take a few of us for a drive...cant wait, as I hoping my old man sells the 350z and gets one of these.

Pete also owns a 348, 355 and has on order a limited edition 430.

There is alot of crap about compliance here is what Pete has told me. This was one of the first complied ie first 3 or so, Nissan still havent put in their import intentions yet but are kicking up a stick that there are private ones coming in, and did try and stop the first ones ever being driven etc, and compliance was around 12K.

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
