Last year as part of his support of SAU-Vic, Provex aka John aka “Gadg” aka “The Vag” built us a custom BBQ Trailer. We thank John for his time and efforts as this trailer is a great base to build on. www.provex.net.au

But the project is far from complete and needs to be revived.

At the moment the trailer will store the collection of 30 witches hats, 2x Fire extinguishers, A first aid box, The BBQ boxes, The club marquee and anything else the club buys to use at events.

Here is a quick list of ideas I have for the trailer:

1. Paint it bright candy pink and add frangipani stickers – Sydney style. j/k – But a nice bright metallic colour might be the go.

2. Deck it out with some car stereo gear.

3. Create a battery system that can charge from the tow vehicle or get it’s charge from rotation of the axle.

4. Needs some rims.

5. Some form of racking / storage inside.

6. It needs some covering for the hotplate.

7. We need somewhere to keep drinks cold.

8. It could use R31 stove top tail lights which would suit the brick shape / square top shape.

9. Also I guess we need to get it registered and insured.

So at this stage were looking for donations of:

Stereo equipment

A pair of rims and tyres (4x114.3 – Early Nissan, N/A Stuff) We may look to change this to 5x114.3 so we can use Skyline rims

R31 stove top tail lights.

Also if you have any more suggestions, post ‘em up.

i might have two gtt stockies too. we'll see how i go in the next few weeks if i still need them or not. one may not be perfectly round but yeah

I also have some rims I can donate, they are 17x9 dished sparco wheels. They are not in the greatest condition (clear coat peeling) but if you were to give them a powder coat in black they would come up a treat..

Cool - Well looks like rims aren't going to be a problem. I can 2k paint those rims azza. Got any pics of them by any chance? I assume they are 5x114.3 stud patter to suit skylines?

Do-Luck - Yeah man have a chat to JB. See if they can help us out. If not no biggie, but worth a shot.

Keep the idea coming guys.

Yep - shopping list - I like.

Haha a big cannon hanging out the back of a trailer would be funny. I think it can be done. Flame thrower out the cannon perhaps

Anyone got a stupid cannon sitting around in the backyard?

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow

    • Must have been an absolute nightmare to drive when the power steer was out, the rack ratio/wheel size/caster is all set up for power assistance
    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
