lol...

just wondering how everyone else's car idles?

mine is a bit rough until its 100% up to temp, and then it still wont hold as much as pulp...

not sure if it's the tune or the fuel... we only really threw a quick tune at it, pretty much just looked at the top end so as not to kill it

thanx ant, i thought i remembered you saying something about that, but f**ked if i'm looking through 28 pages for it :)

on a side note United has now got e85 listed @ a 2nd servo in melb, about 1k from work! :PBJ:

Where's that?

farken NOWHERE!

united have kingsway listed as having e85 on their website AND they told me it would be there when i called head office!

BUT ITS NOT THERE!

i went in today expecting to fill up and there is no pump... this is the SECOND time united have told me incorrect information relating to e85... last time after speaking to head office i drove out to buleen to NO avail!

UNBELIEVABLY disorganised company.... they dont have head office listed with directories, or even most of their outlets!

not happy jan.... srsly how freakin hard is it?

/ :(

Sure, the servo is 1000 kay away. ;)

maybe i can help with distributing the stuff. the guy who has the servo at rozelle seems to be a nice guy. i could ask him if he would be interested in helping ship the stuff out.

One of our time attack sponsors is a fuel distributor up here GT, They are looking in to it atm but if they dont come through I will look at ideas from there. I have been interested in this stuff for a couple of years and it pisses me that they grow it up here and ship it past us to you guys down south. ;)

SHOCKING NEWS!!!

E85 will no longer be available from the bowser!!!

Went to both Enhance servos and they said E85 wont be available until further notice.

Apparently the bowsers are calibrated for petrol (derr)

But due to E85s different chemical makeup the calibration gets thrown out of whack.

So 1L is not exactly 1L.

The petrol companies have brought this to the governments attention, so from now on E85 is only available in 200L drums.

And get this, the price is $500 per drum (due to extra shipping and handling costs)

Farkin pisses me off!!

There is a petrolchemical company that can supply the drums but at $2.50/L and at $500 at a time i think ill parking the car until i can get some sort of hard evidence that this is all true.

Ill keep you all posted.

WTF! fark off!

is this united aswell?

I would say so.

I think its a bloody conspiracy.

Now that people have shown that cars can run on this stuff with no problem, and making big ponies with it.

The petrol companies are scared that this will affect their bottom line seeing as only 15% of petrol being used.

Pisses me off to the max if this turns out to be the case!!!

    • I hope it's actually possible. This is a write off in insurance world.
    • Yup. 2-way with shallow ramp angles. Still works.
    • That was the first session so not a lot to take from the day. It was low 20s ambient and the coolant had got to 110 (and obviously had some pressure!) so that still needs to be addressed. I haven't downloaded the data yet but will. I had refilled the auto trans with Redline DT6 because it claimed the best viscosity I could find at 100o. It wasn't really long enough to get a good feel for that; while the trans got to 100o in the session it still wasn't shifting crisply as I hoped. I think I'll try a few more sessions before judging. No steering motor overheat but I'd hope not in only 1 session! But finally the suspension; it was night and day over the standard stuff and the car was a couple of seconds quicker on the same crappy tyres, which is a huge difference. I'll stick with that and get some sway bars and a mechanical diff sorted too and see how that all goes together
    • I guess it’s partially a compromise of how my car is used, wanting to be able to switch from drift to grip with track side on-car adjustment. Also partially with the way the knuckles are set there is more static camber but less dynamic camber gain.
    • OK, so update from the track day on Friday It was a classic "an unfortunate series of events'. There were a few cars around and when i checked my mirror coming out of the fish hook I notice some smoke from the rear of mine. Looked again and it was getting much worse, I figured I'd blown a turbo or something to got off it and pulled off the racing line. However.... since it is a left hairpin into a right kink, I was on the inside of the next corner. There was a car passing me on the left and a big drop off over the ripple strip on the right......and someone had knocked the witch's hat that was on the apex about 1m onto the track. So, between those 3, I decided to mow down the cone and not damage my car/the other car. Right choice, but surprising result.  The car decided the cone was a small pedestrian so it blew the rear bonnet hinges up to protect their head in the upcoming person to car impact....I didn't see that coming and like an airbag deployment it happened super fast. Straight into the pits from there, everything was driving fine but it became clear it was a coolant leak not smoke, it was billowing up onto the windscreen. Onto the trailer and home. I'll do a separate thread about the repair (once I work out what it is ), but the immediate problem was the bonnet wouldn't open because the front was pinched onto the front bar and would not release. Ultimately we unbolted the hinge from the bonnet, pulled it back a little and it released from the front OK. "There's your problem", the top radiator hose had popped off at the radiator.
