Sometimes after I get behind the wheel, I notice I've changed somehow!

I'm usually mild-mannered, but behind the wheel and after turning the key I...

i) become a bit more insular to the world around me

ii) don't suffer road-fools gladly

iii) get a bit annoyed at having to look at the clock to see if it's 8am-9.30am or 2.30pm-4pm

So this thread is,

I'M USUALLY MILD-MANNERED, BUT BEHIND THE WHEEL, I/I'm...

i am a raving psyco behind the wheel. people who can't drive piss me off. one day I will get locked up after murdering someone when they have caused a completely avoidable accident.

I'll tell you why.

2 lane road, 2 cars driving side by side both 10km below the speed limit. = pisses me off. if you want to drive 10km below the limit the lift off for 1 second and pull into the left lane behind the other twit.

people who can't merge. 2 lanes merging in an 80km zone. plenty of time to merge easily, instead both lanes need to come to under 5km/h for retards to merge = pisses me off. it's easier and safer to merge at the speed the traffic is flowing at.

people who merge 500 meters before the lane ends, and when one lane is stopped they just stop dead 500 meters before the lane end in an 80 zone = pisses me off. merge where the lane ends, and at the speed at which the traffic is travelling. stopping dead in the middle of the road makes you a target for a nice 80km/h rear ender. and when i'm forced to stop behind you now I'm a sitting target for one of your retard mates too.

people who are completely un-aware of what is happening around them = pisses me off. you should know what all the cars around you are doing. yes you need to know who is behind you, and are they going faster than you? slower than you? are they changing lanes? who is beside you? how are they travelling? what is happening 100meters up ahead? is there a merge coming up? is there a set of lights? you are not the only dumb fck on the road.

people who drive slowly in the right lane = pisses me off. nearly as bad as the people who form a rolling blockade. these people then force you to overtake them on the inside (or get stuck behind) which is illegal and dangerous. if you want to drive slowly, that is fine, use the inside lane, I do when i'm driving slowly.

people who don't know the road rules = pisses me off too. this one is simple. if there is one right turning lane, and the next lane is right turn or go straight and I'm in that lane with my right indicator on, and there is a red arrow, but a green for straight DON"T FARKEN BEEP ME. I'm obeying the road rules you moron. I can legally turn right from this lane as the markings on the road indicate, just bloody wait.

people who start to change langes, THEN look and indicate = really pisses me off. I see it all the time, people start to change lanes, already a good foot into the new lane and then they look to see what's there and put on their indicator. this often forces people to take evasive action to avoid a collision. you need to look and indicate before you start to change lanes.

If I leave a 1 car length gap in front of me that is a safety gap, not an invitation to cut in and reduce my braking zone from 20 feet to 20 cm. = pisses me off.

I think what pisses me off the most is that I AM a very corteous, considerate driver. if I'm driving slowly I stick to the left. if someone is trying to merge in front of me I let them. I leave plenty of gap between me and the car in front. I'm well aware of what is happening around me and can anticipate where people are going, how fast they are travelling, what lights are coming etc and drive accordingly. is it so much to ask that other drivers are competent and alert too? I don't think so.

eh... I'm pretty calm when in the skyline. I figure the car alone is breaking enough laws, there's no point me adding to the tally :) I just sit back and enjoy the ride. I don't usually rush anywhere cause I leave extra time to drive cause I enjoy it :D

but the daily is a different story

... lots of stuff I agree with ...

Add this one:

People who change lanes in a multilane roundabout as if the lanes don't exist.

This includes:

Driving straight through a 2 lane around about (outside lane -> inside lane -> outside lane). There are lanes, they curve round. use them.

Being on the inside (right hand) lane, and exiting on the outside (left hand lane). If you were looking you would be thankful I could see your stupidity from a mile away so I was able to avoid you taking the front of my car off!

Note, it's perfectly legal to change lanes on a round about.... You do it the same way as any other lane change. LOOK first, then indicate, then change lanes!

As always, physics says I'm more entitled to the section of space my car is in than you are.

I agree with everything you have said. Absolutely shits me off everytime any of these happen and i see at least 3 of them everyday on my drive to work. Today at a round about i was turning right in a one lane round about and some bitch decided to pull out into the round about when i was literally 3 metres away. How the F&*k could you not see a bright green skyline on a completely empty paved round about!!!!

Then not 2 mins later i was at an intersection waiting to turn right and some tool coming from my left to turn down the street im coming out of, tries to cut the corner then realises im there so he swerves away from me back onto the road he was on except on the wrong side of the road, speeds up, as a car that was behind him is now right beside him, and just misses causing another accident (head on with some innocent person coming down the road and cut off the guy who was behind him making him slam on his brakes also.

So many F*^k wits on our roads that should be shot dead centre in the head!!!!

Rage is a terrible burdin to carry; basically once you actually act upon it your life can change forever. I regret ever not being in control of myself and now im suffering the consequences.

So to all the people out there with road rage; let it go! be courteous to others and avoid problems because one day you may just chage your life for the worst......let your ego go.....show some respect.

I get the shits with people behind the wheel, although it passes pretty quickly when they do something dumb in front of me. I wouldn't get out and beat someone, lets put it that way.

But, then again, that applies everywhere. I've calmed down a fair amount on the forums, but I used to cut sick at fools in here a lot more too.

I can just yell a bit louder in the privacy of my own car.

what fkn annoys me is that ppl dont know the rules when there are two lanes turning right onto a 3lane road. the right turning lane has to stick to their lane while the left turning lane get the choice of the two left lanes on the entered road. lost count of the number of times i've been forced to the ver far lane once i've chosen the middle by some wanker swing wide into my path

Even if they don't know the specific law, in most cases if the right hand turning bay has 2 lanes there will be lines painted on the road to indicate where the inside lane should go.

People should use their farken eyes.

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
