This is by no means a advertisement for hypergear (we do ALOT of product development for different companies), i just feel the result is quite impressive... and it has fuelled me to get involved with thier RB25 high flow and bolt on turbo. Which i hope to test in the new year.

What impressed me the most was torque, it is very rare for me to see a 4cyl make over 420nm so when this pulled over 500nm i was floored... especially as it is on a CA18DET (if you look at the final graph i have overlayed it with a RB25DET with HKS GT-RS...

I attached the graphs of the testing, each run was tuned to suit. Startting at 18psi and working up until peak efficiency (25psi) we found at 26 psi it flattened off.

Bear in mind these are all done with the std internal wastegate and a turbosmart tee, so ever so slightly better results would be reached with an ebc (small drop in boost with the tee... only bout 1- 2psi)

For those about to tout the the dynapck power differrence thing... we anticipated it and ran it on DR DRIFTS dyno (MAINLINE) first where it pulled just over 240rwkw, on the first tuned run here it pulled within 1 or 2rwkw (see red line)

results 281rwkw and 502nm out of a built but stock headed CA18DET.

another interesting post!

got any pics or prices of this product?

Nah i dont sorry.

but here is the website http://www.digi-hardware.com/

i reckon this turbo on a SR20 would be sweet, this turbo may also be available in a 0.82 to suit RB25 which i would also be keen to test....

The hard part is finding cars to do the testing on, i dont use customers as guinea cops, and will only use proven products. Tao has bought a R33 which ready for testing in january so i cant wait.

nice.

put one on your old silvia trent. I'll let you borrow it :bunny:. can do a comparison to the T517Z that's on it now.

it's certainly making pretty handy power out of a CA18. 150kw at 4,500 rpm is not bad at all for a turbo making 280kw on a 1,8L.

my god there is a lot of negative people on nissansilvia. 90% of the people who looked at that blokes graph found something negative to say about it. geez, be happy for the bloke.

I would be glad to help Hypergear out by letting them give me a turbo and plenum :(

I was walking around the show looking at all the high HP cars and noticied that EVERY SINGLE ONE runs a hypergear plenum...

and then DiRTgarage rubbed one in my face as he left ;)

i believe wytsky has the TR43 on his car trent, possibly speak to him about it and im sure he did post a thread up not long ago.

yep, but dont be disheartend by my results, i had the discussion about it because the kw seemed a bit low, but from what Sam and I have come up with, a slight missfire (that was getting worse) and the fact that his dyno had a stuffed weather machine meant it could not correct my results on a 32 degree day are pretty much the answer because the car feels great now, but according to my previous graph I had 230rwkw and now only 215rwkw...

I will post up my new results after I have time to fix up the missfire issue and Sam sorts out his dyno.

btw, on my previous tune ( that I know for a fact was less powerful then my current one just by the feel) I had 230rwkw and around 640-650nm of torque.

hahaha ns.com has the lowest combined iq of any forum.... just take a look at the drift section.... it is ruled by pubesent SA wanna be's.... i know i used to live there....

you rang? ;)

that turbo, that wouldn't be the one i'd be looking at would it? i'd be after the hi-flow option?

i don't really know much about reading those graphs, but is the GTRS a lot more responsive down low? or is the actual road difference not that much?

Yes, but don't forget RB25det's got 2x more cyclinders and 0.7L of more capacity. This on RB25 should make even more power, Torque with heaps more response. 260RWKWs at 5000RPM on a CA, its some thing i've never seen before.

lol, I think you may have hypergear and hypertune mixed into one. they are 2 different companies. :(

    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
    • Do you have some data like fuel pressure? It's really hard to say if you're still fighting a fuel system issue at this point. Could be something weird like the FPCM dipping out.
    • Yeah in that case, pulling the dent out. Event a very slight dent can create a lot of work filler-wise and there is a strong chance the panel won't be the factory shape when you are done (as the dent will result in a new high point created somewhere, then everything is brought up to that new high point... but the panel shouldn't be that high if that makes sense).  So you've filled and primed the panel and it is flat, why would you go back and remove the primer and add more filler?
    • Something else I have been faffing with while the car was off the road is making the AC work. Assuming the car isn't at a thermal limit the idea of having AC while waiting in line to go on track sounds delightful. I have actually been lugging around the weight of the entire system since 2018 when the RB25NEO went in without it working at all.  The main reason was in the first few events before I got around to re-gassing it the rubber hose that runs under the manifold had the factory heat wrap/sleeve fail resulting in this: ~2 years ago I purchased a complete used R32 AC line set but when I finally went to install it the line i needed was different where the expansion section is I found a local place that was able to replace the rubber section and re-crimp. They also added some modern heat sleeve to the hose Tight fit but fingers crossed this is the last physical piece of the puzzle needed
