i stuck gtt brakes on my 32 gtst

only mod needed waht that the bolts that hold onthe caliper in much bigger on the gtt so had to drill out the mount

now 32 gtr are the same size bolts as gtst and the gtt has bigger bolts

so if u have bigger holes than the bolts for the gtr calipers u might be in a little trouble

Hey mate.

Have a read of this thread... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/N-....html&st=20

If it was me I would stay with R34 brakes so you don't need new hubs etc. I have em on my 32 as well and they're awesome. Larger than 32 GTR as well. 310mm vs 296mm.

If it all works out for the R32 brakes and you've not committed to the brakes you've found I've got a full set of R32 GTR brakes including 2 sets of pads. All in near to new / very good condition. Check this out.

Cheers.

you can use a sleave/insert which goes into the mount holes in your hub to reduce it to the right size so you can use the smaller bolts. or you can get the calipers fitted with timeserts (stainless steel threaded inserts) which will enable you to run the bigger GTT bolts. cost about $100 to have someone come out and do all 4 holes for you. rear i'm not sure on, but that's the deal with the fronts anyway.

Just buy R34 GTT brakes or go the whoel hog and get soem R34 GTR Brembos. They are the same bolt size and because of the issues Baron describes above are really only good for R34 owners. So R34 Brembo brakes often work out cheaper then R33 Brembos because you don thave to fiht every R32, R33, Silvia and 300ZX owner for them. Demand = Dollars

Ok, I have put R34 V-spec brembo's on my car and unless your car has GTT hubs they wont bolt straight on, and you will need R33 GTR brembo's.

The bolt for the r34 gtr brembo's is to big, so i had to drill the hole out to make the bolt fit. The Rears bolt up perfect. You will also need to adjust your handbrake tension as the rotor is alot bigger.

Any other questions just ask.

It only has the stock little gt brakes so i dont think it would have the GTT hubs..

How much did the set of 34GTR brakes set u back. only reason i was considerin the 32 ones is cause they were 1000 or under, dont really want to pay close to 4 grand.

Even the GTT rotors and calipers and hubs would be nice, but dont really know much about how to get a set of hubs or if they would just go straight on or not.. i assume they would though (not real good with brakes knowledge)

From this it sounds like GT's have the 12mm hole, not 14mm like the GTT's....

A full set of R34 GTR V-spec calipers, rotors, lines and pads and only used for 17000k's cost me roughly 2.5k delivered. On top of that there were braided lines $250 a set and getting the rotors slotted $133.

^^ thats right. Reason being the r34 gtr bolts are 14mm ( same as GTT). R33 GTR bolts are 12mm (same as R34 GT)

Are they Vspec R32 GTR brakes? As i was under the impression that unless it was a Vspec the 32 GTR brakes werent brembo. So why would you bother?

He has an R34 GT. Non turbo. Brakes are single piston I think. Hence the upgrader to bigger better ones with more pistons.

r34 gt na brakes are 2pot fronts, 1 pot rear, the same as na r33 brakes.

The r32 gtr, r33 gtst calipers/rotors will bolt straight up, no mods are required (which are 4pot front, 2 pot rear)

The caliper bolt size difference only applies to the turbo model r34's, the na's still run the smaller 12mm bolt which is the same as the r32 gtr and r33 gtst so these will bolt straight on.

So to answer your question, yep they will bolt on

ok, thats the kinda news i wanted to hear..

Hopefully ill be able to get the $$ in time,

otherwise ill just have to save my pennies for a bit and find another pair..

Only other concern is that will i need to get a bigger brake booster for the brakes or will my stock one do the job? (sorry if its a dumb question, just dont want to miss anything)

Thanks for all the input btw everyone, been a big help.

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
