Ended up being a good drive by Webber but it was good to see Kimi on the podium again...the Monaco strippers would've earnt a bit last night :D

Anyone else hear the comment by N Piq after Buemi (however you spell it) pushed him off the course? Something along the lines of there shouldn't be young guys in F1....errrr bit like the pot calling the kettle black isn't it :)

Yeah that was funny as fk! :)

yep, it was good to see kimi back up the front and he did actually smile. it was amazing.

Webber looking solid. And about time Hamo gets shown up as a hack at Monaco, he has clipped every wall/armco at the place and always gotten away with it...not this time ;)

king oath. I couldn't believe them crapping on about his great win there when he slammed the wall and by gods grace was able to continue. it was a crap mistake and a big bag of luck that got him through that time. this time he got the result most people get at monaco when they like to run walls. ie an early dinner.

good to see webber outperform vettel. webber kept his head and was fastest man on track in the mid-late stages of the race. he was putting in fastest lap after fastest lap. still it didn't do much to improve his position, but you'd have to say it was a solid race from 8th to 5th. mckonken must have been on drugs when he was saying mark would get 3rd as they were about to enter the final round of pit stops. I have nfi how he thought that would be possible.

go webber, go kimi.

Like me he was probably hoping that the Ferrari's SS tyres would be used up quickly and allow Webber to catch/pass them in the remaining few laps. I think another 3 laps and Webber would have taken Massa.

Vettel has binned it in Qus, Malaysia and Monaco and is still 3rd. Goes to show just how variable the season has been with only Brawn being consistant.

And i have to say it, Webber's 2009 season is already a what if. What if Rubens hadnt clouted him in Aus, the race in Malaysia red flagged but re-started under pace car when the rain had stopped. I was there and the rain had all but stopped at about 5.15pm, so for 45 mins they could have had the cars circulating like they did in the GP2 race. Them you have Sutil in Bahrain...

Webber has been a bit ordinary in qualifying, but has not put a foot wrong in the races yet. He needs a few P1-3 starts, but that is going to be tough with Ferrari, Toyota and Brawn now all in the mix.

Come on Newey, bring out a freak update for the RBR cars ;)

seems impossible to over take, love massa effort at the beginning of the race, i think that cost him 3rd place :P

that was never going to stick; down the hill into the pool complex, hauling the car down from 290km/h and thought he'd make the turn-in before the chicane from the outside line. no chance pal. loved it when Rosberg just carved his arse up when he (massa) had to let Vettel back in front

I thought the commentators had introduced their interviewee incorrectly... that's a stunner of a comment to come from a rookie who has done nothing so far, Piquet should pull his head in he is about to lose his drive in F1 because he's a complete hack. Too much ego not enough talent, methinks.

top race for webber.

good to see ferrari back and challening.

monaco is a bloody boring race though. awesome place, but boring race.

yep.

monaco. awesome place... boring race....

qualifying is about as good as the race.

Hahaha and what makes me laugh even more is at the start of the race when Hamilton had passed 2 people Martin Brundle started carrying on like he's passed half the field already! f**king tossers

Yeah funny as! Brundle was saying "Hamilton now up to 18th! He's on a charge!" Yeah up one spot woo hoo!!

On another note, the fastest laps of the race were:

01 F. Massa Ferrari 1:15.154

02 J. Button Brawn 1:15.190

03 M. Webber Red Bull 1:15.321

04 F. Alonso Renault 1:15.371

05 K. Raikkonen Ferrari 1:15.382

06 H. Kovalainen McLaren 1:15.672

07 R. Barrichello Brawn 1:15.685

08 L. Hamilton McLaren 1:15.706

09 N. Rosberg Williams 1:15.772

10 K. Nakajima Williams 1:15.792

11 J. Trulli Toyota 1:16.011

12 T. Glock Toyota 1:16.066

13 S. Bourdais Toro Rosso 1:16.178

14 A. Sutil Force India 1:16.245

15 N. Heidfeld BMW 1:16.268

16 G. Fisichella Force India 1:16.419

17 R. Kubica BMW 1:17.558

18 S. Vettel Red Bull 1:17.634

19 N. Piquet Renault 1:18.514

20 S. Buemi Toro Rosso 1:18.582

good to see webber really does have the race pace. poor old basti is way off. a number of reasons for that though I guess.

the chicane at monaco has to be one of the best in F1. watching them bounce through that change of direction you hold your breath every time.

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
