Skylines are the replacements for VL Turbo's etc. Of course they are going to be full of wankers. Not everyone no, but a large amount yes.

When 99.97% of society consists of wankers & losers then it's only natural that most skyline drivers are wankers/losers, right?

I've made the realisation as of late that you have more chance of encountering a loser who is not driving a Skyline than one who is driving a Skyline. As much as R33 driver arrogance pisses me off, far more annoying are the stigmatic shout outs I receive while driving with my windows down.

As of late it seems to be on a weekly basis that some wanker riding a bike or standing outside a nightclub, or driving a Hyundai Excel will feel the need to yell out "dose it bro, dose it!" or "do a BURNOUT!". The latest was "aw f**kin sick bro you're f**kin sick mate" followed by loud laughter. These people are by far worse than the people they are supposedly bagging IMO. Probably should be ignored but for some reason it gets to me...maybe because I don't like being associated with that culture. Guess I shouldn't have bought a Skyline! Next time I might stop and explain to them why I won't do a burnout or remove my factory BOV so I can dose.

I've been seriously considering a six pack of eggs in the glovebox for such a situation. I mean, people egg cars, so why not give it back to them? I don't understand reverse shout-outs though...the victim is the one in the car...you're not getting away very fast if they want to catch you!

i have to agree with birds.... Alot of ppl where i live are always yelling "Chuck a skid" "do a burnout" along with the "Wanker" etc calls... I just look at is a bit of jealousy....

Mind you me and a mate were in my 33 the other day in a drive through bottle-o and the guy commented on me having a nice car... i thought it was a good comment and unfortunately rare and thanked him for it

Yep that's the most annoying i find aswell, people yelling stuff out while you are the one driving. It rarely happens to me but I had some cock on Australia day yell out "do a burnout top bloke" while i was in the city, going about 10km/h with people everywhere, i lost my shit and yelled out swearing at him and was keen to do a u-turn and go to town on him with a bat i had in the car. Good times.

I've given up on waving to fellow skyline owners where i live, as the couple that are about are pretty plain looking 33's and the occasional 32 just ignore me or give me dirty looks just cause i've gone out and spent money on my R33 to make it look better than there's, which i think is pretty pathetic considering we all share the same love of Skylines.

Also when i do come across another fellow skyline owner's it's usually a stupid 18 year old behind the wheel of a R32 driving it like an idiot thinking they have an 8 second car or something, which then cause's problems from the police for other Skylines owners who are actually doing the right thing, and put's out an image that all Skyline owners are hoons and dickheads which is not the cause at all, it's just a small minority that ruin it for the rest of us.

Ive given the old flick of the head knod. The only bad thing about the skyline is the attention you get when you drive past people filled areas. Ive been asked to do a burnout, then abused verbally because I just rolled away.

i think skyline drivers are stuck up , because we know nothing much will beat us at the lights :) ! I joined a commodore forum for fun when i was home with a broken ankle , i was really , really suprised how much respect for skyline drivers they have , i wish i could say the same for us . About 90 % of us are respectable but for the other 10 % trolls - hang your head in shame . I will try to like commodore drivers more (GAY I KNOW) , lets face it they love their cars as much as we do !!!!!!

Im writing this thread because i have noticed more and more skyline drivers are wankers, im not talking about everyone, but

do you ever notice car enthusiests all the fords/vintage drivers all wave to each other and admire everyones car all that kinda stuff.

we should do the same!! i own a 96 r33 and some other skyline drivers i see whilst driving just wanna race you and are arrogant,

it really puts the image on us as a typical hoon so to speak!

So I wanna know what you all think?

Dude I agree, what your saying applies to heaps of turbo drivers I always wave and want to have a fun and friendly race and most of them are agro pr**ks always greasy me :) , but occasionally you get one or so thats up for some.

that speeding campaign was fkn hilarious unintentionally

LOL the youtube videos of the edited ads were the best. That VL one with all the dosing sounds dubbed over it was great.

That's the thing man...all communities have their morons who hate on people for the car they drive. We have plenty of Skyline fans here who rag on Commodore drivers for being bogans etc., not realising they're emanating the same behaviour and level of intelligence as Commodore drivers who call Skyline drivers riceboys etc.

As I said earlier, most of the people on this website are the type who would wave to someone else in the same car for the same reason that they're on this website - because they're a fan of the car and wish to engage in sociable car-related behaviour. In contrast many owners want nothing to do with that hence they don't wave on the road. I think we all agree R33 drivers are the worst though.

    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
